I am taking the Magical Express to the Contemporary in May and when I did this last year, Contemporary was the last stop after Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge. This year, if we are the last resort stop again, can I get off ME at GFL or Polynesian and take the monorail to the Contemporary? My niece and I will only have one small carry-on each. I loved ME but having to wait for the driver to get people's luggage off the bus at each resort before us was seriously painful and it's enough to make me consider forking over more money for a town car.

I don't see why you couldn't, as long as your bags aren't put under the motor coach. They are stored by resort so the bags for the Contemporary wouldn't be taken out until you were there.

That is the bad thing about DME--not knowing how long it will take to get to your resort. As you are only going with carry-ons, you could always play it by ear. Sign up for DME but if you are feeling impatient take a taxi to your resort.

Depending on what your carry on bags are, you may, or may not, be able to do this. You aren't allowed to take luggage on any WDW transportation. And, if you got off at the Polynesian, then had to make your way upstairs to the monorail line, then wait for it to come, and then ride to the CR...it could well take 30+ mins. I have to believe that staying on the bus is going to be faster! Just the ride to the CR is going to be 15 mins.

We did this in October and beat the ME bus by several minutes.

I just think it's a lot of aggravation to save a few minutes...even 15 mins! Most of us here fully realize how undependable the monorail has been lately. There are many, many reports of people getting stuck on it, for quite awhile, or it just not coming due to an issue on the line. So, feel free to use the monorail..but many of us here won't use the monorail if we 'have' to be someplace at a particular time.
