Been wanting to east there since it opened. Last minute trip to Universal, tried to east lunch there today. Showed up at 3 and place was almost empty. 2 booths and a table sat inside on each side of hostess stand. Lots of empty tables and booths. Asked for a booth for a party of 5. Told no I could only have a table outside. said no we will wait for a table inside.
Was told he had no idea if when we could have an inside table because he had no other waiters for inside and had no idea when any would show up. He asked us to sit outside. I told him we were freezing and did not want to go outside. He swore outside was warmer than inside to try it. They went to set up a table in there warmest spot outside. This was a four top thatt they added a chair under the heater. There were big gaps between the plastic and when we went to sit down we were blasted by 50 degree wind( really breezy day) told my husband it might be to cold and the only other people eating out there looked up at us and said "yes, its freezing". Told hostess to take us back in. Told head hostess that we would just wait for an inside table. I am staring at 3/4 of AN empty restaurant. I was then told outside was my only option. That they had no idea when wait staff would show up to work inside. No management was in sight and at least 10 people were in the kitchen with nothing to do, Now I worked my way through college as a waitress at various places. I am very familiar with seating charts, closed sections during slow times, short staff etc. This was ridiculous that a place with this many customers walking by can't seat someone in an empty restaurant. They should have moved whoever was working the patiio inside.we waited a few minutes again told don't know when could seat us. Left dissapointed because it felt like things could only go down hill. Ended up eating at red oven brick pizza for second time in 3days ant it was again great! And they keep their poatio very warm.
