We do whatever we can as long as we're in Florida although we're not too keen on the seven day trip. Our first few trips many moons ago were 14 night packages and totally parks, cramming as much as we could into our itinerary. Now we do DIY and tend to spend about 17 nights and alternate with 'down time'

I'd always take the more frequent option.

yes i totally agree with chmurf the best bit about our long trip was the unhurried pace lots of beach days and way more than just theme parks

I love the idea of a long trip and almost booked a 21 dayer for this year. Then i remember back to long trips before as as much as i love it we start to get a bit tired, the food starts to drag etc. if you do it pencil in lots of rest.

Also and this is more important you really dont know what will happen in the future. A lot can happen in a few years so go as often as possible and enjoy lifes experiences. We all think bad things wont hapoen to us such as illness etc but that is life. Sorry that is a bit morbid!!!!!! But i think you dont want to wish years of your life away to the next trip.

I'd do 10 days every year over 20 days every 2 years. It would definitely be more cost-efficient to do the latter but it would be difficult for me to go that long without a trip to FL. I also agree that you never know what the future holds so grasp the opportunity when you can.

I think for us it would have to be the longer trip every other year. Flights are very expensive especially in the school holidays so on a short trip the cost per day is much higher on a short trip.

I love the idea of going every year but not sure 10 days would be enough for me as struggle with 14 but worry that after 20 I wouldn't want to come home!!!!

At the moment I'm trying to convince DH that 14 days every 3 years should be our plan (not sure I've won the argument yet) but as long as I don't have to go as long as the 8 years I had to wait between 1st and 2nd trip it will be an improvement. :-)

I vote for the longer trip every 2 years. We went annually for 14 ish nights for several years but our last two trips were 2011 and 2013. We go later this year for 15 nights and have had plenty of time to save extra special push the boat out a bit. If we hadn't of been tied to DHs work hols and my nephews summer hols we would have ideally booked 18 nights as we had an 18 night trip before and the relaxed pace was great. We won't be back after this til 2018 at least.

Between the two choices I would prefer 10 days every year. Twenty days at a time seems too long for me.

we decided to go next year May for 2 weeks as I wouldn't be able to last over 2 years. This would be 1.5 years since last trip so compromise
