My timeline

12/19 offer submitted and accepted
12/21 sent to disney
1/14 passed rofr
2/9 closing docs sent to buyer/seller
2/13 buyers paperwork received
2/23 sellers paperwork received
2/27 closing
Now I wait! I wanna book our two trips asap!!

Our deed recorded 2/9 (per OC comptroller website) were finally in system and able to get our # and website login info on the 18th (9 days later)
When you call you want member administration not member services (option 2 on main menu then option one on member administration menu)
I tried calling at 7 days and again at 8 (because our contract had points expiring March 31 2014) but wasn't in system until day 9 (I have seen a lot of others say 10 days is pretty common)
BUT member services was kind enough to let us bank the 2014 points into 2015 (not sure why prev owner didn't bank) so now we got BLT in May due to all the people wishing to POLY

Oh drat, I think I've been calling the wrong department then. Is it not option three- Member Accounting? So it's actually option two on the main menu? Do they work weekends, does anyone happen to know? Sorry to bud in ;).
 


We just passed ROFR on 2/25 and are waiting for closing documents. Our home resort will be VGC and we really wanted to make reservations for a trip starting 11/15 or 11/16. Do we have any hope of closing and getting our membership info before it hits the 7 month mark and open to all DVC members? We are with TSS and Nancy with Magic Vacation Title is our closing agent, if that makes any difference. TSS says 14-15 days to get closing documents, but it sure seems like it takes longer than that from the posts on this thread I've read. We will be very fast on our turn-around paperwork. Anyone have a crystal ball out there in Dis-land? ;-)

(For some reason quote isn't working on my iphone tonight)

I had read some posts saying to call member accounting and some said member administration but when I called the first time and talked to accounting they specifically told me I had to talk to member administration-and when my letter came in the mail this week with my member # it was from member administration
I know that dvc member services is avail sat and sun but not sure if member administration is open-can't hurt to try

I think around 2 weeks is typical to receive closing documents after passing ROFR-apparently Disney was taking a very long time to provide estoppel to closing companies in December which led to much longer time period to prepare closing documents. So if that holds true you should probably be in the system with points loaded before 7 months. What was your estimated closing date?

TSS said they hope to close on or before 4/6/15, which seems like it will run us very close (if not well past 4/15). Our sellers responded within 1 hour to our offer, so hopefully they will act as quickly with the closing documents. We are very fast with paperwork (after 2 international adoptions, we know how to turn around paperwork, and this stuff is paltry in comparison. ;-) ). I hope you are right! :goodvibes Thanks!

Thank you so much! I really hope it only takes 9 days! We are planning on a May trip (I'll stay anywhere DVC!) and nov/dec (hopefully the poly will provide some relief for that time period!). I am so excited to book!! All this waiting is awful! but the money saved is worth it!!

I have this in an Excel worksheet that looks much better. I am tracking this information to see how much longer we have in our resale purchase process.

I think you have a good shot at May if you aren't picky and dates are flexible. With the poly coming online Wed it opened up a lot of rooms for May so The Poly may have a avail for you or it may allow you to get another place (BLT, AKL, OKW) from people switching. The dates we are going I had managed to get AKL prior to Poly booking opening and once Poly opened was able to switch to BLT. I will say SSR seems to be readily avail at this point-others come and go and people switch things around (of course I have been focused on a studio so not sure how that equates to what you are looking for). I would suggest to call by day 10 so that you can book as soon as humanly possibly because tomorrow starts the 60 window for may 1. At 60 days not only can disney pull breakage inventory BUT all those dvc members with holding points can start to book rooms for may as well

The contract I was buying (200 pts- BLT) at a lis pendens filed on it by Palm Financial (DVD Financing arm) and it seems that fact had really expedited the closing!

Jan. 5- contract sent to ROFR (broker was on holiday, fair enough)
Jan. 28 passed ROFR
Feb. 4 Received closing documents
Feb. 10 payment rec'd by title company
Feb. 17 Seller returned closing docs
Feb. 18 closed
Feb. 19 deed recorded
March 2 called Member Services and got member number, then got web credentials from web dep't
Booking: unknown. We really wanted AKL Club Level for next February but it seems that people finishing their vacations are making it hard to start ours, lol- eventually we will score it, I'm sure ;) )

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the deed recorded and faxed back to Disney once it has been sent? They said they were sending it to be recorded on Saturday.

If you look on the Orange County comptroller website document search, it tells you what date they are working on. My was filed on 2/25 and showed up recorded today.

ok so mine is up on the site as filed on 2/27 but says "still being processed" once the deed is recorded it will indicate that under work flow status?

If you can actually find the deed on the site, and can view the image, then it is ready to be sent to Disney. You can send them a copy and they can find it by the document number on the top right corner. I just checked and it's currently only proofed through 2/26. The workflow status on pertains to them double checking all the searchable fields for indexing purposes.
