Disney's most sinister villains? and why

i wanna hear which villains rank on everyones top villains and why?
it can be personal, things they do, or appearance

mine would be Ursula as one of disney's most sinister villains, why you ask? well lets just stop and think about how it played out ursula agreed to give ariel legs for her voice. unknown to either them sebastian and flounder followed ariel when she went to see the sea witch but what would have happened if they hadn't ?!

when she loses her tail, and gains leg its apparently obvious she can't swim or breath. and the only way she made it to surface in the film was her friends carried her to the surface. this makes me believe that ursula had intended to drown ariel right then and there. taking her voice and killing her in the process. luckily she was unaware of flounder and sebastian.

thats why i see ursula as one of disneys most sinister villains because i see it as she didn't anticipate ariels friends rescuing her and intended to simply murder ariel to spite King Triton

any thoughts or villains of your own choosing?

There are many and Ursula is a good one. Enslaving souls and all. I think Cruella DeVille is one of the best. (Coming to Once Upon A Time!) It was horrible as a child when I realized this woman wanted to skin puppies to make a coat! It was horrible and very understandable to a child.

However, to me, the absolute worst when you really think about it is Mother Gothel. She was successful in her evil for 18 years. Kidnapped a girl, imprisoned her, and used her for her own evil purposes all while pretending to be her mother and love her. Some of her dialogue with Rapunzel is creepily realistic for a narcissistic abuser.

Hands down the worst.

Or, if you really want to go all abstract. The best, most terrible, and most realistic villain was in Frozen: Fear.

A friend and I had this debate this weekend. He immediately went with Cruella. I mean, skinning puppies? That's about as evil as it gets! I was trying to make a case for Chernabog, who is the pure embodiment of evil. And while his reach and power are much greater than Cruella's, I'm not sure even he would murder innocent puppies for a coat!

Has anyone seen Twisted? It's a Youtube Musical from a group of actors called "Team Starkid". Basically, it follows the untold story of Jafar from Aladdin. There's one point where the villains from all different movies come together to console Jafar and they talk about how they "only wished" for certain things- i.e. "I only wished to marry Belle" "I only wished to rule the ocean" etc.

Then cruella comes out and goes "I ONLY WISHED TO HAVE A COAT MADE OUT OF PUPPIES!!!!" and all of the other villains stop the song and they're like "oh my gosh what the heck is wrong with you????"

I'll have to find the clip but it's super funny and reminds me of this thread LOL

Nothing more sinister than The Black Caldroun guy :lmao:

Definitely one of the reasons behind its poor commercial performance.

From the better known movies... Well, I've always thought that Judge Frollo was pretty horrible. And the fact that he is so religious makes it even more realistic.

Scar, Cruella and Maleficent are all pretty evil as well. And then you have the funny villains. Hades and Yzma have to be my favorites. Gotta love their sense of humor.

I gotta go with the original big bad, the lady who started it all: the Evil Queen from Snow White. She wanted to kill Snow just because she was prettier. Jealousy is a powerful sin.

I agree Judge Froll is a terrible and two faced in his values. The horned king was the reason for the movie to be a bomb. It should have been a live action film instead of Disney cartoon. Parents were angry for Disney this.

I think Frollo is the absolute worst. He was willing to murder tons of people just because of his own lustful feelings for Esmerelda. He also was very cruel to Quasimodo. He gets overlooked too much by Disney fans because I definitely think he is the most evil villain in any disney movie.

I can't believe Medusa from The Rescuers has yet to be mentioned here. Mother Gothel cannot hold a candle in comparison.

Mother Gothel was a complicated character. There is nothing complicated about Medusa. She was a child abductor, child abuser, and without Bernard and Bianca she would have been a child murderer. No telling how many children could have tried to retrieve this diamond before or after Penny (had she failed). She had two alligators and a bayou at the ready for easy body disposal.

Close second is the Evil Queen, as Snow White is still by today's definition a child when she sends the huntsman to cut out her heart.

Medusa takes the win in my book because of the real world possibility. Her actions are not the product of a psychological or physical disorder. They are taken out on a person not an animal. They are taken out on a child, specifically one with no feasible ability to fight back (yes Penny is adept at running away but this isn't the power of a teenager or an adult

)

The opening sequence from "Pete's Dragon" when the Gogans all appeared one at a time along the rock scared the cr@p out of me as a child. I used to fast forward my VHS past that scene every time. Today, I can't get enough of that insane family. Singing about cooking and eating Pete... brilliant stuff.
