Morning all

Welcome to another weight loss week, I hope you all had a great weekend, and were able to stay fairly good with your diets.:cutie: The weather with me this weekend has been dreadful and when its cold and grey all I want to do normally is snuggle down with warm comfort food and not salads and meat:rolleyes:

Well done to everyone that lost or stayed the same last week and chin up to anyone that had a little gain,:love2: that's all behind you now, so here's looking forward to a successful weight loss week:flower1:

Good luck for the week everyone and look forward hear how you get on:sunny:

Sorry, haven't got the hang of the new format yesterday. Just wanted to say thank you for the lovely, cheery & encouraging message.
I'm returning to work tomorrow after a few months sickness, so hope to get my eating back under control & eventually some exercise.

I had a good week with diet/exercise, and managed to put on 0.1 kilos! :sad1:

I'm keeping in mind that I won't lose every week, and to carry on as I'm doing, the weight loss will come back.:flower1:

I have lost another pound. :)

As a reward for this Weight Watchers have reduced my ProPoint allowance yet again. I understand the logic behind reducing my intake as I get closer to target, but in the last 7 weeks I have lost 3 points off my allowance and am now just 1 point over the minimum recommended intake whatever anyone has to lose - BUT I STILL HAVE NEARLY 5 STONE TO GO!

I'm weighing my self whenever I remember rather than weekly but so far over 7 weeks i've lost 5 lbs which i'm pleased with.

I put another one lb on this week. I'm switching back to ProPoints as the Filling and Healthy is not working now for me. Not particularly downhearted, I knew I'd done badly. Onwards and upwards.

I don't go through Weight Watchers Libby, and hope you don't think I'm stepping out of line here, but it might be best having a word with the person running the club or contacting Weight Watchers direct. Something doesn't feel right about what is happening with your points. Best of luck!

You're definitely not stepping out of line, any help and support is welcome with this weight loss malarkey. I am following WW online as I consider myself quite an "expert" having had weight issues since I was 13 so I don't have a leader. I am fed up of attending meetings where the leader has had a single weight gain moment (babies, menopause, etc.) and doesn't understand the problems of living with life long weight issues.

Anyway, I know that WW will work for me whereas unlimited healthy eating regimes do not as my body just doesn't know when to stop and I can happily eat plain pasta by the bucket full.

I have had the losing points very quickly problems in the past, I think it's because I am short (5'3") and 53. I just don't understand how I am going to maintain a steady loss for the next 5 stones with only 1 point of flexibility left. (WW does also have extra weekly points that I can use if I get really hungry.) I might email WW if I stop losing but I am sure they will just suggest upping my exercise, eating less fruit, varying my diet etc., etc.

Thanks for your support.

Libby, how many points are you allowed? I still have 3 stones to lose and I'm on the lowest allowance: 26 daily points. After watching the BBC programme about diets and weigh loss, the one thing that was evident was that the more weight you lose, the less food you need to keep on losing (hope that makes sense). I think it means that to maintain a weight loss you need to eat less and less, which seems logical. I've upped my exercise regime again, so that can't be used as an excuse for me, unfortunately.

I don't get how it works with points, but I do understand the reduced calorie intake. My Fitness dropped me from 1810 calories when I started to 1440 calories now, after a 3 stone loss.:( Heaven knows where I'll be as I get close to my target:sad1: I can eat more than the 1440, but that comes out of any exercise I do.

I know the feeling about battling with weight for most of your life, and middle-age spread is not helping me either! I think you're right about what WW will suggest though:) We are all here for you:flower1:

Hi Libby, I can see some of the other posters have given you some advice and as I dont really know much about weight watchers these days, there is nothing I can add, when I used to do WW my points was 26 and I had 3 stone to lose, I think that was the minimum but you had an additional 49 points to use through the week, do they still do it like that? I used to add that as an extra 7 points a day, sometimes I used them if I ran out of my 26, that was some time ago though so Im not sure if its still the same.

Well done on losing this week :rainbow:

Well done Claire thats a great loss, keep it up:rainbow:

Thats the way to think Pam,:grouphug: well done, is it Weight Watchers as well that you are doing, whats the difference between propoints and Filling and Healthy?

Hi Guys

I lost 1lb last night at Slimming World, I'm pleased with that as I wasn't at all well on the weekend and had to go into hospital for a small while as my chest infection was so bad I need antibiotics and a stint on the nebuliser, so when I got home, all I wanted was comfort food.

My total loss now is 2stone and 1lb.:flower1:

Morning everyone. Well done or good luck with your weigh in! :thumbsup2

I lost 1.8 pounds this week taking my weight loss to 14.4 pounds so far. VERY happy person today :cool1:

Hi Sue, yes, a difference between points and Filling and Healthy: if you point, you are given a daily allowance and your 49 weeklies to use as you like (I use mine as an extra 7 a day if I need them too!) and all foods have a points value except most fruit and veggies. Filling and healthy has loads of foods which are free to eat in any quantity, the idea being that you control your own portion size, which I am quite incapable of doing! So back to counting points and weighing and measuring portions again. It's a faff, but I am retired and have plenty of time to do it, so not a hardship for me, just a bit of a pain! Still, no pain, no gain, they say.

Have a good weekend everyone and well done on all your achievements. You are all very inspirational to me.

I have 27 points a day at the moment (plus the 49 weeklies that I probably use about 10 of each week). I have no problems losing points as I get near target, I just don't see 5 stone to go as being near to my target.

I am not surprised that you needed some comfort food after a stay in hospital. Well done with the weight loss and I hope you are feeling better now.
