DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Nah... I can't even get myself to spend the money to go to a Colts game. And I can drive there in about 40 minutes, and there are places I can park and be in and out of there without much headache.

But it's a lot of money, and I guess I'd just rather watch from the comfort of my own home.

I think the dirty secret of the NFL is that watching the game on TV is actually a better experience.

Can someone tell me what day it is? They've been running together for a bit now.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

When they actually call for 6-8 of snow, we end up with 1-2 or less of slush.

And here I thought that was just us!

Actually, I try not to give weathermen a hard time. I also know the pain of working in a field where you're constantly being criticized by people who have no clue what they're talking about.:sad2:

Little things like "not knowing what you're talking about" (or worse, having a vague idea and a couple of unsubstantiated "factoids") rarely ever stop anyone from commenting on anything. What would Monday Morning Quarterbacks do if knowledge and experience were a requirement for calling up the local AM radio station.
:lmao:

Actually, the meteorologists around where I live do have a tough job. We happen to be in one of those spots on the map that's always right smack on the line of where a weather event should begin or end. The slightest variable will move the the whole thing twenty miles north or twenty miles south and getting it right is tough. That and the fact that "local news" is pretty much geared for weather events, and erring toward the cautions becomes far less likely.

Afternoon guys and very Happy Friday Eve!
Good Morning Guys. DD was at her weekly training session last night. A guy walks up to me, says he has seen her play and would like to offer her a spot on his state tournament AAU team. Pretty tempting and nice to hear she has been noticed. Unfortunately we have already committed to a team for the Spring and he likes her coach. I did ask her and she jumped at the chance as we know some of the girls on the team and play them during our season. I think we'll make the change for the fall season if they still want her.
Congrats to DD
As much as I love the Buckeyes - my family is much more important......plus, look at that big beautiful golf ball behind them!!!!
Well played / well stated :thumbsup2

Howdy all...

I have been out of the loop (and a number of other loops for that matter) for quite some time now and it's about time I did something about that. Starting off with checking back in over here. This place can be some of the best medicine available on many levels.
Hey Rob, good to hear you have a clear bill of health.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the prayers and kind wishes. Will try to get back on after surgery or give SWMBO the secret password so she can update everyone how it goes. We have committed it to God and I have peace however it goes.
Good luck with everything Shawn.

Got my Patriots season tickets renewal invoice today.:headache::mad::mad: I'm thinking about telling them I don't want to own the team, just go to a few games. $170 per seat/game. Along with the bill is a note that the NFL has now officially gone to a sliding scale on ticket prices. Basically, crappy team games are valued less than expected popular games. I am anxiously awaiting the document that shows the ticket value for each game.
Can't you just seek the tickets you don't want to recoup some of the cost? How is the secondary market for Pats tickets?

Can't tell you how much I feel your pain. I was traveling home from Connecticut today through Charlotte.
Oh really? Thanks for the call... we could of met up.

That is awesome! Good for her!

I have to admit, I was hoping the box also contained a couple of bottles of Spotted Cow.
:rotfl2:

The only time I've ever bought a ticket to go to a Colts game was a few years back for a Sunday night game. The Pats were in town and they had the ball and the lead late in the game and got stopped on 4th down. Remember that one?
REALLY???? I was at that game too. Small world!

Happy Friday!! We watched Big Hero 6 last night. We really enjoyed it. We paid for our room yesterday so it is official, we're going to Disney World!! The kids have no idea and we will not tell them anything until after the magic bands arrive and we are about 2-3 weeks out. Randall, please add my crazy family down for being in the world 5/9-5/15. We worked hard to pull this off. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate being together for a year as a family of eight.

Couldn't have made it happen this time as I was with a coworker and customers just about the whole time. However, this was the kick off to a project that will have me coming back that way a few times over the next couple of years. We will get together on one of those trips. How far are you from the Groton area?

But it's a lot of money, and I guess I'd just rather watch from the comfort of my own home. Now if free tickets come my way or our company gets a suite, that's another story. The only time I've ever bought a ticket to go to a Colts game was a few years back for a Sunday night game. The Pats were in town and they had the ball and the lead late in the game and got stopped on 4th down. Remember that one? :thumbsup2

Yup, I remember. That's the one where we spent the next 8 months talking about how the coach didn't trust his defense. We actually only go to a couple of games a year. The rest we resell or give away to friends. The biggest headache is that it takes the whole day. Foxboro is an hour and a half from the house, have to leave early or sit in traffic and getting out is a nightmare and takes forever. You would think that given the number of years we have been doing this, someone would actually build a pedestrian bridge over the roads to eliminate having to stop the traffic so people could cross. It's not rocket science and would make a significant impact on traffic. Off the soapbox now. See what happens when you bring up bad memories.

Morning Men.

Can someone tell me what day it is? They've been running together for a bit now.

It's Monday in Canada.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

'Morning all...
As usual, our weather exaggera... errr... forecasters (yeah that's it, forecasters) got it wrong. When they actually call for 6-8 of snow, we end up with 1-2 or less of slush. Where I live it changed over to rain about twenty minutes in and stayed that way. I could care less, but all the area school districts called it last night based on the dire predictions. That's a waste of time and money for a lot of folks.

Did you stock up on milk and bread before the storm?:lmao::lmao: We are expected to get a few more inches on Sunday and then a bigger storm next week on Wednesday/Thursday. We need around 5" of snow to make it the most snow ever. If anyone finds a way to speed up time so we can get to spring sooner, it would be greatly appreciated.

Way to go David! Page One already had you set up!

Not close to Groton at all... about 1.5 hours but I'm sure if you are heading back down south you have to go through New Haven.... I'm 40 minutes from there. I live near Waterbury on I84... midway between Hartford and Danbury

Good deal and still a great story. Can't wait for the kids reaction when they find out.

Sitting in Docs office for 6 mo follow-up from the kidney stone stuff of last year. Hope I don't have any return visitors. Have a Good Friday guys

That is awesome! Good for her!

We typically sell a lot of the games. We'll go to the early games when the weather is better Then we will go to the playoffs or maybe one other game late if the opponent is good. This season our home schedule is pretty bad. We play good teams away, but only a couple good ones at home. I'm thinking we'll open with either Pittsburgh or Buffalo as it's usually the league opener on a Thursday night and Tennesee, Jacksonville, Jets and Miami are not really what I would call headliners.

Thanks. Proud of her for the work she puts in.

REALLY???? I was at that game too. Small world!

Yeah, thanks for the pictures. Just what I needed.

Still haven't seen BH6, DD saw it in the theaters and loved it. Congrats on the trip, you certainly have earned it!

Keep me in the loop, I may be able to meet up as well. It looks like I'll be in the Mystic, CT area on May 8-10 for a hoop tourney. Thinking of staying at Mohegan Sun.

'Morning all...
Seems like only a few days since I started having to write 2015 on everything and yet two months are already done and gone. My but the time seems to just evaporate.

Hey Rob, good to hear you have a clear bill of health.:thumbsup2

Thanks Tim.
I was rather pleased to hear about it myself.

That is most excellent news, sir.
Your crazy family is quite deserving a bit of extra magic.

Pretty sure it's Friday.

I might be Friday, but I'm never quite certain of it until I get out of the office.
Then... it's Friday

Did you stock up on milk and bread before the storm?:lmao::lmao:

Nope... I know better. :thumbsup2
We live in an odd spot on the map that almost always sits smack on the dividing line between where a weather front might go and will go. Consequently, predictions are wrong (and generally overstated) about three quarters of the time. Y'all have gotten really pounded this season, but all we've really seen is a couple more days of of harsh cold then normal.

That's definitely a great reason to celebrate.

Wow. I didn't think the state was geographically big enough to be 1.5 hours from anywhere. :rolleyes1

Yeah, thanks for the pictures. Just what I needed.
Says the guy who's team just won the Super Bowl. :rolleyes1

Miami should be decent this year. You can sell the Pittsburgh game and make $ I'm sure. Their fans travel and pay the price on the secondary market.

Yeah, thanks for the pictures. Just what I needed.
You got it! Anytime!! I have more pics I can post if you want. :thumbsup2

This isn't Delaware! @Captain_Oblivious

You can cross the state on the major highways in about 2 hours.... but diagonally, it would take about 4 hours (possibly longer) to get from one end to the other.
