Kona or Boma breakfast?

We are only doing one TS breakfast (aside from SW at Sci Fi) and I am very torn between these two. Both sound great but which would you do if you could only do one?

Thank you!

(I think I'll throw Tusker House into contention as well...)

Either one you can't go wrong, but prefer Kona, love the poly

The Tonga toast and coffee are the big draw for me... I have never been to either though

Kona and Boma are our 2 favorite breakfast restaurants in DW.

Kona - TS - Our favorites are the Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes, the Samoan (eggs benedict), the Big Kahuna (good for a big appetite or for sharing) and Pressed Pot Coffee. The Tonga Toast is good, but very sweet so something we would share.

Boma - Buffet - A good selection of familiar breakfast foods including cute Simba and Nala mini waffles and additional offerings with African spices and flavors that make this buffet a unique one. Plus Frunch juice. Also a chance to explore AKL, see the animals on the savanna and talk with the CMs, view African art in the lobby and check out the gift shop.

In the end if I could only choose one I would probably choose Boma. As much as I like the offerings at Kona, there are some items on the Boma buffet that I haven't tried making so I can only get them when I'm in DW, but either place is great.

Are you on the Dining Plan? Boma would be better on the plan, Kona would be better OOP.

It also depends if you want a buffet or not.

We are paying OOP but it's for our honeymoon so we can be slightly more flexible with our budget. We would like to try whichever place is better food over all... if it's possible to decide!

We prefer Boma. My picky DH wants to go back there on every trip. Kona was good too, but Boma was definitely better.

Most times when folks need an opinion, I will feel strong towards on over the other. But you hit on two of my faves! Kona would be great if you are going to MK, Boma if you are doing AK. Food at both, very good, lots more to eat at Boma, but you will fill up at Kona as well as both meals tend to be very rich. Not to complicate things, but The Wave and Trails End have very good breakfasts as well, an Olivias gets a nod too :tilt:

These are my two favorite breakfast spots in all of WDW! You really can't go wrong with either, but aside from both serving breakfast, they're quite different. As others have said, Kona is your traditional, entree, table service and Boma is a buffet. And the food choices at each vary too. If I was forced to choose my favorite, I guess I would go with Boma, simply for the variety. If there's any way to swing both though, you won't be unhappy!

Another vote for Kona. Especially if you're going to the MK that day as its close by.

Boma for sure! Best breakfast on site. While I have enjoyed Kona breakfast, it can't compete with Boma. Especially on your honeymoon. Such a lovely atmosphere and beautiful resort to wander around after breakfast, and see the artwork, and of course, the animals. On a side note, Kona is our favorite for lunch!

If it's about food - Boma.

Kona has plenty of treats for breakfast, but the diversity at Boma is unmatched.

Keep in mind, however, traveling between resorts can be a chore if you are not driving yourself.

So my recommendation is almost always - whichever between Kona & Boma is most convenient for you to get to.

And Congratulations!!

Never eaten breakfast at Kona but heard great things...Have eaten at the Lilo & stitch character breakfast at Ohana's which is our 3rd best Character breakfast.

But Boma's to me is, unmatched. There's sooo much to choose from, the diversity is unbelievable, from classics to out of the box dishes...YummY!!

But as a pp posted, it can be a lil difficult navigating there w/ out having your personal or rental car....Timewise that is :thumbsup2

Boma - not even close. But as others have said, it depends on the day's schedule.

Thank you all so much for the responses! I think in the end we will do Kona before our MK day and for now I will schedule Boma before our AK day and see if my fiance is up to it as we get closer. I really appreciate all of your input- it has made me just that much more excited!
