okay, no they aren't getting rid of Vinylmations but I just wanted to get your attention, and yes this topic has to do with vinylmation.

I learned that on February 4th Disney Parks will no longer trade vinylmations. They are taking out ALL the remaining black boxes in the parks.

I don't know if they are going to get rid of the trade box(s) downtown but for now I know they are no longer trading in the parks as of February 4th.

EDITED: For those who want a source where I got the info, here is a link to the website.

I am part of a vinylmation facebook group that posted the link.

Change the title. People care about them, no need to cause confusion or panic. This is a irresponsible post.

Ugh. Was hoping they were going away. Never saw the point of those things. Making collectibles for the sake of them being collectibles, are not collectible ..

True, and I agree. Just never tell that to the Disneyana community...

I collect them... They are the same as pins I really don't see a problem on with them. I don't buy entire sets or anything I just buy ones I like.

Where did you hear that they are no longer trading? Do you have a source link? :)

This is coming directly from CMs in D Street, DTD, resorts and the few other locations where Vinyls are still traded. It is also being discussed on quite a few Vinyl fan pages. The memo that has gone out states the 2nd for WDW and the 5th for DLR.

I should have made myself more clear. I don't have any ill will to the little Mickey Sculptures like the other poster. I just don't see the point, and they seem to not be the best way for me to remember my vacations. It's none of my concern what you like or buy. As long as they sell, Disney will keep them simple as that.

That's sad; I liked the trading boxes (especially if I buy multiple of the same series and get duplicates)! I wonder why they chose to do away with them...

I will say that I agree they don't represent my vacation many I buy online or in a Disney store. I did like however that if I got a double or something I didn't like I had the opportunity to trade it.

I love my vinlymations. I usually buy the rare ones online for cheap, and if I get duplicates I just give them to a family member as a "gift" lol. So this really doesn't hurt me.

I think they are (or were) an interesting creative outlet for Disney to utilize. I hope they are only scaling back Vinylmation plans and not phasing them out, but without the opportunity to trade in the Parks, I think they are going to be killing Vinylmations off if they don't have some interesting way to energize interest in them - and I don't mean Eachez!

Sorry for the title of the post.
It's not an irresponsible post but a really bad title.
I don't know how to change the title with the new interface.
