How reliable and is Cabana Bay's free park transportation?

How often do the shuttles run?

Would you say they are comparable to the reliability and ease of use of Disneys free shuttle bus transportation?

Thank you!

1) Very reliable.
2) Constantly. Five minute wait.
3) Better. We used them in August and they had two buses deep at the hotel. That means as one was pulling away, you boarded the next pretty much immediately. They keep it moving along really well.

When we went in Sept we never waited more then 5 minutes. One night we were going to RPR for dinner, it was busy at the bus stop because of Halloween Horror nights but they had two buses there. They do a good job with their transportation.

CBBR has much better transportation than Disney. When we were there in May, we walked up and on every time, even when we left the parks.:thumbsup2

Gotta agree with previous posters. The shuttle at Cabana Bay puts the Disney shuttles to shame.

Do these buses strictly go from CBBR to the main gate at Citiwalk, or do they go to the other hotels as well? We had awful experiences years ago waiting for shuttle buses at PBH and HRH trying to get a ride back to RPR. We kept calling and no one ever showed. (We were always able to get one FROM RPR somehow.)

If the buses don't go to the other hotels, do we need to take the water taxi to Citiwalk, then walk up to the main Citiwalk entrance to catch a bus over to CBBR?

ETA: Sorry, I see this has sort of been answered in one of the other recent threads on this topic, but UO website still lists complementary shuttle buses as a perk for all 4 hotels. Just trying to figure out how to get 4 of us from PBH to CBBR for bowling.

I would agree that Cabana Bay's Busses put Disney to shame but, I did wait several minutes in the morning not because of lack of busses but because of the crowds. At 8:00 it took 5 bus loads to get everyone on the busses. If you were staying in the northern part of the resort it might have been quicker to walk (I was staying in the far southern part of the resort in Americana). Coming back was never a problem.

I was annoyed in oct when staying at royal pacific as to lack of shuttle to CB. We wanted to check out the lazy river but didn't want to make the walk.

Especially surprised to be told we were welcome to drive over but would be required to pay a parking fee in addition to the daily one we were already paying

How long is the bus ride from CBBR to the parks?

It seems like it would be really short, but I have read that it goes on public streets through several intersections, and that traffic can make it take a while. True?

Yeah, I think I accepted the fact months ago that a trip to Galaxy Bowl probably wouldn't work for us, but I got my hopes up again. I think for the price of us taking a cab plus the cost of the bowling and food at CBBR, we could almost take a limo to a regular Orlando bowling alley! :rotfl2:

The Cabana Bay buses go from the hotel to the Universal Parks hub. They don't go to any other hotels. The trip is very short. Traffic was never really an issue.

In early November you could get a bus from the hub at City Walk to the other hotels.

The other hotels have there own shuttle, a smaller bus. The Cabana Bay buses only go to Cabana Bay. While we were there (octnov), they occasionally used the smaller buses for cabana bay.

Never waited more than 5 minutes each way and loved that I didn't have to stand or have someone's butt in my face. Much nicer then Disney.

Where does the CBBR bus leave you? I've read about a separate hotel entrance to the parks, related to the walking path from the deluxes I think. Or are you dropped off at the taxi loop outside Citywalk?

It does drop you off at the taxi hub lower level just outside of City Walk. As you go up the escalator, everyone from the parking garages have already been walking for a while.

Thanks wookiebeck. I laughed at the idea that we'd have a relative advantage over the folks who have been slogging since the parking garage! :teeth:

I thought this info might interest someone. It was given to us upon check-in at PBH.
