The Dry Heat Expedition (Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Disneyland)--UPDATE 6/12 (KSC and DTD)

Love hearing about your Disneyland day! :thumbsup2 I can't imagine trying to pack both parks into one day, especially with a baby along for the ride. :faint: Sounds like things were off to a good start, though.

Yep, did it! Made it all the way through where your daughter piped in and "set the record straight". :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sarah, you'd get along just splendidly with Anara, my 12 year old. ;) In fact, you should totally talk your dad into bringing your whole family to WDW in Oct, 2016 and we can all meet you!! Get right on that, K??

Mark, great chapter for sure!! I still haven't gotten to see Radiator Springs yet, every time a read a TR with pix I confess I drool a little. Kind of like when you go to the dentist and you get lidocaine. Great shot of the giant Mickey head there! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Wow! You guys had an awesomely productive morning at DCA! That's a lot of headline rides in a short time! Love everyone's shirts!

Jill in CO

We got off to a good start! Stay tuned to see if we can keep up the pace.

I just have to copy this because it may be the best gif ever. So much awesome in one picture.

::yes:: It is pretty awesome.

Things like that really stuck out to me too. Seeing a CM in their costume walking down the sidewalk... not something you normally see in Florida. I had to remind myself in DL a few times too that they don't have the Utilidors like WDW when I'd see something that looked a bit wonky.

Yeah, it gave me an appreciation for the lessons they learned when designing Disney World.

Well, that's great news! You never know how that process is going to go.

I think we can all agree that we want to spend as little time at the ticket window as possible.

Being able to pull FP from both at the same time... +2

Definitely a nice perk!

Seems like it would be right up your alley.

Um...yeah...

And I don't blame you for the asterisk. I had zero expectation of that ride, but we rode it with the kids anyway. My only thoughts were, I'm glad that's over, and that was short.

I'm sure your kids basically forced you on that one. I'm glad mine understood that with only one day, we needed to concentrate on the headliners.

Hey, it is definitely different and better than the one at WDW. But we also went while they had the holiday overlay so the soundtrack wasn't as maddening. That probably helped it significantly.

I think you can get rid of the word "probably" there. I actually would have ridden it if we'd had a couple of days to explore the park. But, darn it all...

Not the same! The doors don't close automatically and you have to say the safety spiel yourself.

Disappointing, huh? We'll address the monorail a little later...

But if it is like the days I went there for EMH, they've been in the park for an hour while RSR was down, so they really only got up an hour early to accomplish nothing and are just hoping to get a FP so they can come back later.

Ouch. I hate that this seems like a relatively common occurrence.

Oh. Yeah. Well, there's that too.

It would have been cool to stay in the Disney resort, but we were already stretching the dollars as it was.

That is definitely a terrific one!

:thanks:

Oh, man! 5 minute wait? You should have just rode it while they waited.

Well, now you tell me! Seriously, though, what's the proper etiquette for this? I've been trained over the years as a father and husband that my desires generally don't get any acknowledgment or priority, so I usually have to just suck it up.

It is far more important to enjoy the moment.

You mean you didn't want out-of-focus photos from dark rides?

Can you blame him? I mean he's been awake all night!

:sad2: Little punk.

Your pictures are as close as I've ever been. They had the entire Condor Flats area walled off while we were there.

Apparently for re-theming. I'm glad the DL vets chimed in to correct me here. I had thought the whole park was re-themed earlier, but evidently not.

It really is a very nice park. They did a great job with it. I want to say it reminds me of DHS, but it is so much more... and a lot of it is really unlike anything they have in Florida.

Yeah, I agree. Definitely more than just Hollywood, and better for it.

Well played... leave them wanting more. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Now I just have to make sure there are people who do actually want more!

What? NOOOOOOOOO

You can't leave us hanging like that :guilty:

Sure I can! But I'm sure you'll be calling me all sorts of names...

I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland back in 2006, as my cousin was getting married, and, wouldn't you know, the hotel they booked was only about half an hour away from Disneyland. This was before all the refurbs and before World of Color came out, so I'm dying to go back. Which is why I'm now trying to talk DBF into going this summer for a few days. We've got JetBlue and Marriott points to burn

Sounds like a plan to me! Hope it works out!

Funnily enough, HIS cousin is getting married the same time frame I'm looking at, albeit in Ohio. Not much use when it comes to Disney planning, but we could always go to the knock-off Coney Island!

Hmm...I'm gonna have to vote for California over Ohio. Nothing against Ohio, but only one of them has a Disney park.

Yes, you are at Disneyland!!! Seems like you had a great start to the day!

So far, so good!

By the way, Condor Flats is currently being taken totally apart to be rethemed. This is still DCA 1.0 theming and it is going to be turned into a 1930s National Park airfield theme - to go with the Grizzly River Run theming (which was more contemporary as well before the big refurb).

Thanks for correcting me! For some reason, I had thought the entire park was updated under the big project. It'll be interesting to see how the new area looks--I liked the area around GRR quite a bit.

I find your comments about all the urban landscape directly around DL interesting. When we first went there in 1992 there was still a huge big parking lot where DCA is now and there was even less of a sense of a resort. I love what they did with the new DLR now with Downtown Disney and so on. Even the Anaheim streets are so much nicer now than they were in 1992! All the beautiful palm trees etc were not at all there. So, for me it feels so much less urban around it than on my first visit.

The only constant is change, right? I did notice that the street in front of the Grand Californian hotel was very nicely landscaped, and I'm sure Disney has done a ton of work to spruce up the area. Being a WDW vet, though, I'm sure you can understand my first-time impressions of DL.

Also, to an extent I kind of like the more urban surroundings. Makes it easy to go and get an In-N-Out-Burger. ;) And on the other hand it makes me feel even more in a bubble once I walk onto Disney property.

Good point on the burgers. :rotfl2:

I still like the vast space and separation from all of the tourist traps that WDW has, though.

That was a great morning. Thanks for the shot of the kid's excitement! :thumbsup2

I was hoping you'd enjoy that.:goodvibes

Really what they did in the major refurb was redo Buena Vista Street and create Carsland. The rest (Paradise Pier, Condor Flats, Grizzly Park and Hollywood Blvd) are pretty much as they were when the park opened.

Thanks for correcting me! This is what I get for not paying too much attention when the project was happening.

There used to be a big "Sunwheel" where the Carthay restaurant is located.

Well, the restaurant certainly looked like a nice building.

I'm glad that everyone got to ride most of what they wanted in that part of the park. Looking forward to seeing Carsland through yours, Julie's and the kid's eyes!

Spoiler alert: we loved it!

Well, now you tell me! Seriously, though, what's the proper etiquette for this? I've been trained over the years as a father and husband that my desires generally don't get any acknowledgment or priority, so I usually have to just suck it up.
You're right, we normally have to sacrifice for the greater good, but that doesn't mean we can't get to have some fun if it won't have a negative effect on the rest of them.

The way I see it, you scored FP for RSR while they rode TSM and you missed out.

Boom.

Absolutely LOVE that Mickey bench.

Oh good, you spotted the Hidden Mickey! I was worried it would be too subtle.

Lady screwing up the picture...what the heck is the matter with you!

Of all the places to stop!

The faces on the boys with their tickets are priceless.

Just a little tiny bit excited.

The picture of the big Mickey by Paradise Pier...BEST picture ever. I love it.

Thanks! It was cool to see it without too many people around yet.

Of course Andrew is sleeping...he was up at the crack of dawn again.

This kid is aging me so fast.

You cannot beat the front row of Soarin!.

Not in the least!

Great family picture...love it.

Thanks Kathy!

This is Sarah typing. I would like to point out that my father is lying about our enthusiasm about California Screamin'. You need to get the full picture, he did not give you the full picture on many things in this chapter. The full thing is, we wanted to get on Radiator Springs Racers and he wasn't dying to get on California Screamin', as he leads you to believe in the chapter, so he asked us if we wanted to go and Dave and I said we kind of did but we wanted to ride the racers more. We are not wimps like it says in the chapter. Thank you for your time.

So I gave my response earlier, but I'll say once again: I'm SO looking forward to these teenage years! And I still stand by my reporting.

I glanced over at Drew who was sitting on Mark's lap. He was so cute...sitting there holding onto the hand rail. I tried to get the settings right to get a picture and then something in me snapped. No. I wasn't going to spend my one day totally behind the lens. I wanted to BE in the moment at Disneyland. Now I did snap away....and got lucky a couple times...but overall, I'm thankful for the decision. :goodvibes

I think it's a wise choice.

Still chugging away, trying to get all caught up!

We appreciate the effort, Marv!

Zion National Park is another destination high on my list. The Checkerboard Mesa is an amazing feat of nature that is just hard to understand how it happened. :worship: Okay, that traffic is :scared1:. You prepared me before I scrolled down to see the picture, but I still was a little surprised.::yes::

I think it looks worse than it really was overall. We did everything we planned to do.

$10 for overflow parking??? And what is it with Julie and serving ice cream??? Note to self……….plan trip sometime other than summer. :faint:

If you can, it would definitely make things more bearable.

:woohoo: for another burger place!

I could go for one of those Fritos burgers right now.

Nice looking Hampton in Springdale……….very easy to enjoy a pool when you have THAT view to help you relax. :lovestruc

It was a great place to stay!

OMG, the view at the end of that Canyon Overlook Trail! :goodvibes So worth braving the narrow paths, uphill climbs, rickety wooden bridges and partial caves to get there. I’m just glad you were able to shut up long enough for me to enjoy the pictures……………… ;)

So glad we did that hike! The whole thing was just a really cool experience.

Such a beautiful part of the country! Even just the pictures of the drive to the Grand Canyon are such amazing views! I had never heard about the Navajo Bridge before, what a great view and perspective to walk out over the Colorado River like that. I agree, the Grand Canyon is a very majestic view and sight to behold! :thumbsup2

::yes::

Crap………puke……………man this TR has EVERYTHING!!! :rotfl2:

Hey, do I know my audience, or what?

Julie got some great pictures of the Condor. I agree that when you are standing on the rim of the Grand Canyon, it is an amazing view and just as an amazing a feeling of awe and inspiration. :goodvibes

It doesn't get old to me!

Everybody should experience a cinnamon role as big as their face at some point in their life. I haven’t had mine yet……I was waiting on my face to get bigger! :)

Oh, man. With a setup like that...:rolleyes1

Oh WOW! You are finally there! And you got great shots entering the park. As someone who has never been there, I think you really captured the morning anticipation really well!

Thanks! We were definitely excited to be there and see it for the first time!

Yay for the Racer FP's. The Soarin building looks super cute. What? No California Screaming'? :faint: Glad you got the WOC FP's.

Well, you can't win them all.

And I LOVE that group shot of you guys! It's perfect and my actually be my fav group shot of the trip!

Hey, thanks! If only Baby Drew had been looking at the camera...

Looking forward to more DL!!!!! :cool1:pixiedust::cool1:pixiedust:

I guess I'll have to get right on that!

I'm glad Sarah was able to set the record straight! And happy early birthday!

Jill in CO

:sad2: Stop encouraging her!

I completely forgot about this part. Up until the time when DCA was built it was parking lot all the way up to the turnstiles of Disneyland. Some lucky folks were even allowed to park in the spaces right in front of the turnstiles with reserved spaces.

Wow! How early did you have to get there for that? Or were they reserved spots?

When Disney proposed the whole Disneyland Resort Expansion, they put tons of $$$'s into the "Anaheim Resort" community, in fact they proposed the entire concept. Probably to try and bring it a little closer to the look of WDW. Magdalene is right, there were no palm trees in the median along Harbor Blvd. There was not "Disney landscaping" outside of the park and there were lots of seedy stores, mini markets and other cheesy cheap places all along Katella and Harbor.

Makes sense. I'm sure Disney was willing to do anything they could in order to class up the neighborhood. They know the importance of a good show!

With the construction of DCA and the Grand, I think they purchased the Paradise Pier hotel (which was the Pan Pacific prior to that) and they began the entire beautification project. Heck they got the CA depar tment of Transportation involved and rebuilt the Freeway so that the Disneyland Drive could have it's own exit. This was a major cooperation between multiple departments. I'm sure you can appreciate that one Mark!

Given how much our bureaucracy can hold things up, it's amazing that it all got done!

Thanks for chiming in Sarah, good to hear another perspective! ;)

:sad2: But I was telling the truth!

I'm glad that you were able to spend most of that day in the moment and not get caught up with the camera. I am looking forward though to the reveal of the "moment" with Drew that you fully captured on camera. Especially after we had an entire discussion (while the rest of the family rode Star Tours) about his difficulty moving on with that particular aspect of his life. :rolleyes1 :ssst:

You must have been the good luck charm! I think we should meet up again so Julie can talk to you about him sleeping through the night.:rotfl:

Umm because that is school and this is Disney... come on!

Well, sure. But since I have to get them up for school, I can give them a little crap about it.

That is good timing. What flavor of pop tarts are we enjoying?

Generally brown sugar cinnamon. Breakfast of champions.

I have stayed at that Embassy Suites right there more times than I can count, for work, and always loved the walk right to Disney.

It is nice not to be tied to the shuttle bus system!

Seems like it has been walked on too much and starting to fad, they need to fix that./
Or just stop people from walking in the sidewalks.

Yes they do Rock! Very special people.

:thumbsup2

Wow that is very subtle and hard to see.

Did you try squinting? That might help.:rotfl:

That is a very adventurous schedule. did you get enough sleep for a day like this?

We will find out!

What is up with people, I mean it is not all about them, don't they know you need that picture. Jeez

I can't believe we weren't their first concern!

I guess anyone can get into that park huh?

Well, if they let us in...

Glad to hear you did not get trampled on the way to fast pass RSR.

I was trying to do the trampling! :rolleyes1

Let's just say you were having too much fun and enjoying all the park had to offer to stop and take photos. That is a great photo!

Works for me. And thanks!

if you make a list you must go back! Just the way it works.

I'm up for it! Just need to figure out how to afford it.

The Imagineering is amazing all over Disney, I am always excited about how they envision the parks and bring us all into the fold.

::yes::

I am sure this is not a good sign at all... Time will only tell, at about 3 or 4 am?

Oh, I'm sure he'll let us know.

Front row Whoop!!! :cheer2:

Front row rocks! It's even worth waiting for.

glad you are finally making your way to cars land!

We've waited long enough!

Sarah, I agree with this too. At least 4 times.

Why does everyone take her side?

Looks like an ambitious list to try to accomplish, but at the rate you're going I have no doubt you will succeed! Great start to your Disneyland day. :thumbsup2

You sure about that? Maybe I need to introduce some doubt...

Love your Disney Day! I soooo wish I was there today to see my beloved Pats in their parade!

They asked Bill Belichick how he felt after winning the Super Bowl. His response: We're on to Disneyland.

Love hearing about your Disneyland day! :thumbsup2 I can't imagine trying to pack both parks into one day, especially with a baby along for the ride. :faint: Sounds like things were off to a good start, though.

I can definitely confirm that this was not a restful day in the least!

Then I'm in good company! ;)

So, I"m just gonna go back and catch up on like 40 pages I've missed in my derelictness. I'm anxious to read about the Disney day(s).

Oh, it wasn't so bad. Maybe about 8 pages or so. And you had a good excuse!

Yep, did it! Made it all the way through where your daughter piped in and "set the record straight". :rotfl2: :lmao:

You mean "tried to make Dad look as bad as possible.":sad2:

Sarah, you'd get along just splendidly with Anara, my 12 year old. ;) In fact, you should totally talk your dad into bringing your whole family to WDW in Oct, 2016 and we can all meet you!! Get right on that, K??

Dad would not need much convincing! Generally we would be willing to drop everything and head to WDW at a moment's notice. The problem comes from trying to get these trips approved by the Budget Committee. And still be able to travel around to get to all 50 states!

Thanks! I may have drooled as well, but that could also have been due to sleep deprivation.

You're right, we normally have to sacrifice for the greater good, but that doesn't mean we can't get to have some fun if it won't have a negative effect on the rest of them.

The way I see it, you scored FP for RSR while they rode TSM and you missed out.

Boom.

It sounds so easy when you say it like that.

Generally brown sugar cinnamon. Breakfast of champions!

Not that I can eat them (diabetes and all), but that is my most favorite flavor. Going through all kinds of withdrawal here and that brown sugary goodness sounds so good. Must. go. find. bacon.

I'm sorry that the restrictions make it so hard on you. But bacon is a good substitute for a lot of things!

Captain’s Log: Monday, 28 July 2014.

9:32 a.m.—Let’s take the walk into Radiator Springs. You might recognize a few locations from the movie. There’s Fillmore’s Taste-In:

Sarge’s Surplus Hut:

The Cozy Cone Motel:

IMG_6589.jpg

Ramone’s:

Flo’s:

IMG_6608.JPG

Honestly, we are blown away by Cars Land. It feels as though Radiator Springs has been re-created down to the last coat of paint directly from the film and transplanted here in Southern California.

IMG_6590.JPG

IMG_6591.JPG

IMG_6594.JPG

9:42 a.m.—We’ve reached the entrance to Radiator Springs Racers, and our FastPass window is now open. Time for the main event. The title card. The Big Enchilada. The Whole Nine Yards. The Crème de la Crème. The Phantasmagorical Salami.

Ok, now I’m just making stuff up. Needless to say, we’re all excited about riding the headliner. With the baby, we have to do a child swap. Because I am an amazing, devoted, incredibly thoughtful husband, I let Julie take the first ride with the kids. Baby Drew is still dozing in the stroller, so we find a place near the entrance to sit and wait. Julie takes a few hasty photos as they make their way through the FastPass line. Don’t worry, we’ll have a few better shots later on.

IMG_6599.jpg

IMG_6603.jpg

IMG_6604.JPG

Looks pretty amazing, right? You can actually see the back of those peaks from the road outside the park, and…well, it’s a little less magical on that side. So let’s just concentrate on what’s in front of us.

Meanwhile, I sit and twiddle my thumbs as time passes.

9:48 a.m.—Baby Drew is drooling out of the corner of his mouth. Julie would probably think it was cute.

9:49 a.m.—Of course, when I do it, she says it’s “gross.”

9:49:30 a.m.—I hate double standards.

9:54 a.m.—Baby Drew wakes up. He’s a little fussy, so I take him out of the stroller. Now he drools on my shirt. Julie would probably think that was cute, too.

10:05 a.m.—I can see Julie and the kids making their way through the exit. Everyone is grinning from ear to ear. When they finally reach me, everyone is just raving about how “cool” and “awesome” the ride is. The kids are practically dragging me back to the FastPass line. That’s one nice thing about the child swap—the other kids get 2 rides out of the deal! It doesn’t take me long to hand off the baby and hop in line.

10:12 a.m.—Still in line. Even with a FastPass, it’s so popular that you’ll have to wait a bit before getting on. Later on in the day, I’ll realize that this is a downside of the child swap process—yes, it’s great that your kids get to ride twice, but it also turns out be a bit of a time suck. It’s basically doubling our wait time for every ride. I hadn’t quite considered that in my planning…remember that for later.

10:21 a.m.—We’re getting in our car. The kids were hoping for a nice red one, or purple for Sarah, but instead we got the pukey green model. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers. One final seat belt check later and we’re off…

10:23 a.m.—The Imagineers hit a home run with this one. Part Test Track, Part dark ride, complete and total Cars immersion. We got the Ramone scene inside, and had fun making faces and giving thumbs-down to the other car as we lined up to race them. We may or may not have informed them that they were, and I quote, “going down.” I don’t know if the car quite reaches the same top speed as Test Track, but the outdoor portion has a lot more curves, twists and hills, so it’s a blast to ride. And yeah—we won the race! I manage to get a redneck ride photo as we exit.

Yes, I know, we all look constipated in this one, but trust me—we’re all having a blast.

IMG_0621%255B1%255D.JPG

We’re all basking in the glow of a great ride. Except Baby Drew, who I presume is upset that he didn’t get to ride.

IMG_6605.jpg

10:25 a.m.—California Adventure goals accomplished. Time to head to Disneyland Park. But we can stop in a couple of shops on the way out.

IMG_6606.jpg

IMG_6607.jpg

10:30 a.m.—Watch where you’re going here.

IMG_6609.jpg

Looking back at Grizzly Peak on the way out.

IMG_6611.JPG

10:37 a.m.—We make a quick pit stop between the parks and then head for the Disneyland gate. The crowds are noticeably much, much larger than they were first thing in the morning. Not a good sign. Also not a good sign:

IMG_6613.JPG

10:45 a.m.—We are now inside the gates of Walt Disney’s original theme park. It still feels different than walking into the Magic Kingdom in Florida. Everything here feels like it’s on a smaller scale (which, of course, it is by necessity). It’s still Disney, but a little more intimate.

IMG_6614.JPG

We wade through the crowds and wait patiently for a PhotoPass worker who does the best she can to crop 98% of the other people around out of the picture.

IMG_6617.jpg

And then we’re moving inside.

IMG_6619.JPG

We enter the Town Square, basically the same setup as the Magic Kingdom. We’re moving fairly quickly now, eager to round the bend, look down Main Street, and get that first majestic view of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

When we had started planning this trip, Disneyland hadn’t even been on the radar. We didn’t even know if we could travel across the country with a baby in tow. Now, after traveling thousands of miles, being blessed with the kindness of friends to allow us even to enter the gates, we finally receive our first full view of the park that started it all.

IMG_6621.JPG

“That’s it?!” Sarah asks. “It’s so…tiny.”

Ok, so maybe we’re just jaded East Coast people. But Cinderella Castle is definitely a more impressive sight looming over Main St. +1 for Disney World.

Still, Sleeping Beauty Castle is a work of art in its own right.

IMG_6625.JPG

10:48 a.m.—You know how everyone raves about Southern California weather, that it’s practically the perfect climate, year-round, etc.? Well, today it’s 92 degrees outside. And we’re feeling every single one of them.

Where to next? Well, the ride the kids want to be on the most is the Matterhorn Bobsleds. So, that’s the first stop.

IMG_6627.jpg

The posted wait time is 30 minutes. I’d been checking wait times in the weeks leading up to the trip, and it seemed like that was about the best we were going to get on this one. Unfortunately, there’s no FastPass or child swap line here, so we have to make a decision. There is a Single Rider line, but our kids aren’t quite old enough to feel ok with doing that. They still want to ride as a group. So that option is out, too.

Once again, Julie’s incredibly thoughtful and sacrificial husband comes through for her. I take the baby, and she hops in the line with the kids.

Meanwhile, Baby Drew and I set out to see if we can get Space Mountain FastPasses. However, when I check the return time, it’s not until 2:30 p.m. Uh oh.

If I pull Fastpasses there now, I’ll be restricted from getting any more until 2:30. I don’t think that’s going to work. I look to my right, and see that the Star Tours return time is 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. I know the kids really want to ride that too, so I call an audible to Plan B and grab FP’s there instead. I have to say, trying to strategize on the fly is stressing me out.

The park is, in a word, PACKED. All of the wait times I’m seeing are longer than what I’d seen in the prior weeks. I’m really getting worried that we’ll be severely limited as to what we’re able to see and do in one day.

Well, at least the kids and Julie will be able to experience the Matterhorn. As we’d planned our day, I had asked if anyone wanted to ride Indiana Jones with me, and only Sarah seemed really keen on trying it. So I figure if Julie gets to do the Matterhorn and I get Indiana Jones, it’s a fair trade-off.

So, with the Star Tours FP’s in hand, I head back to the Matterhorn just in time to hear the announcement: it’s broken down and will be offline for at least an hour.

Um…do we have a Plan C?

Coming Up Next: No, really. What’s Plan C?

I'm glad RSR worked out so good, even if the child swap made it a bit of a wait both times. Cute funny hat pictures! You can't get enough of those no matter how old you are!

Nice family shot in front of the train station too! Was it really 12:30 on the return time for Star Tours? I could have sworn it was more like 11:30, but I wasn't there yet. :rolleyes1

Anyways, carry on!

Cars Land really looks amazing (especially since we just showed Izzy Cars the other day, so it's fresh in my mind). I think I'll need multiple days in California Adventure because I'll burn so much time wandering Radiator Springs. And the ride sounds SO fun. REALLY want to ride that.

Sorry the crowds are heavy, weather hot, rides are down, and FP return times are late. :sad2: Interested to see how you make the most of it!

Those cone hats are particularly awesome! Besides, we were excited to find goofy hats that Kathy's husband hadn't modeled yet. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Confession: I was having a hard time remembering the exact chain of events here, and I don't have any notes to help me. I thought we did Star Tours after lunch, but I'm really struggling to remember if that's actually true, or if we rode Star Tours and then ate. Help me!:rotfl:

Ok, we went back and checked Julie's notes, and we did do Star Tours before lunch, so I think you're right on the return time. I'll edit the chapter.
