Resort Change by Disney

Have been on hold for 2+ hrs for the special team to see about moving our 7/2-7/7 stay at CBR to a different hotel for same dates. I don’t know if we would do it, but I want to see what they offer...I certainly would love a Poly bungalow for the same price as my CBR preferred room. 😆Even with no parks, maybe resorts at low occupancy with pools and a dole whip would be a nice break 😀
Please keep us posted. Good luck!

Any reports on what they are doing for moving moderates? I am booked at CBR from July 1-3 and confirmed with that email and it said "we'll contact you shortly"...Wonder what that meant..

Any guest not staying at a DVC resort already, who wants to keep their stay between June 22nd and July 4th check in, will be moved to a DVzC resort or Ft Wilderness, for no charge,

However, you won’t have a say in where,,,,they will just assign you.

This is not what I was told this morning and my CM seemed very knowledgable. I check in on July 5th. They are letting people modify in phases. The current phase is for reservations up until July 4th. The next phase of modifications will include July 5th through some date I'm not aware of. They are doing it in phases as not to overload the phone/reservation system. The CM I spoke to told me to keep an eye out on my email and Disney Blog for the beginning of the next phase. She said it will happen very soon.

I would not be surprised if DPB made a post on current reservations with the window to update asking everyone to use the online system and not call

Trying to move our 6/19-23 Pop stay and we too got transferred over to a special team. On hold now for over 3 hours. Saw on fb someone else had to wait over 4. May have to try again tomorrow.

OMG, how do you even stay on hold that long?? I know, use speaker phone & go about your business. But I can’t imagine tieing up my phone that long. Plus how stressful it is listening for the voice to take over. Has anyone just waited for Disney to call them? Or is that not an option?

Saratoga might not be a bad option for those who are moved there while parks aren’t open. There are several nice pools, a lot of space, and a quick walk to Disney Springs where we know for sure there are a lot of restaurants and QS open. Also, villas will have kitchens for cooking meals, which offers flexibility over a resort room.

One of the complaints about SSR has been busing to parks, and that wouldn’t be an issue.

Yep, speaker phone and just keep on doing what I was doing. Have to go out now, so unfortunately hanging up and will try again later. We have to call and modify otherwise our trip will be automatically canceled once we get to our dates.

I called the number showing up in MDE underneath my reservation around noon today, got through to a person in about 20 minutes, but we spent about 80 on the phone. I had an AP Poly CL booking July 1-7th. My options were to keep the same date, but in a Poly villa (price decreased to standard poly villa AP discount), modify my dates, or cancel. The cast member was great - they are paired with someone else in guest services that they communicate with. The GS CM was starting her “Monday” and I was the guinea pig for both of them to work through. I went through quite a few different options (out of state APs with school tentatively starting Aug 4). We finally kicked the can down the road to a Christmas trip Dec 18-25 at Boulder Ridge because it held 5 and was the exact same price as CL garden view poly. I could not book Jambo in July/Aug but could book Jambo in Dec. The CM asked about our passholder status a few times and if I had any questions about APs and the extensions at the beginning & end of the call. I asked if the extension freeze period ended when the parks opened on July 11, or when the ability to park hop was available and she laughed and said “that’s a good question that we don’t have an answer to”.

Hitting the 4 hr mark now, phone is plugged in with volume up. After a game of Life with the 7 year old, we have moved on to My Little Pony on the screened in porch while the adults have a special beverage

The fact that you could've booked Jambo in December gives me hope for my 11/28-12/5 room there. I've been watching room tours at all the DVC resorts in case we got moved, so i'd know what to expect.

FWIW—they’ve shared before under different circumstances. They shared a chartered cruise ship with WNBA players during the last Summer games.

Good to hear, it would make the most sense to keep all athletes in one location and a place where the "fans" can't get close to them.

I don’t know if I missed this yesterday or if it is new information added today. But this is copied from Disney’s before you go info page. It says BCV guests can use BWV’s Luna Park feature pool & their quiet pool too. Nice to see more than just BCV’s quiet pool offered.

Activities

  • Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will not be available during the initial reopening period; Guests of Disney’s Beach Club Villas may use the resort leisure pool, and may also use the Luna Park Pool and leisure pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
Uh oh I may have to move again. That will definitely overcrowd Luna Park

Just read a post on Facebook. Someone switched their early July reservation to July 17. Originally supposed to be Jambo house, switched to SSR but then waitlisted Jambo. The waitlist came through today. So maybe Jambo won't be closed after all.
That does give me hope. But then again, Disney’s systems have had a lot of changes and we can only hope it worked properly. The cynic in me thinks that it could be someone moved or canceled and the waitlist scooped it up before Disney took it. The waitlists were supposed to have been turned off.

Yeah I was thinking that may be a possibility and that person may get manually moved anyway. When did they turn the waitlist off? My waitlist came through just before they had the park opening anouncement.

I can’t remember, I think it might have been one of the emails DVC sent out.

ESPN confirmed 3 resorts will be for NBA players only with strict screenings for the virus and they won't be allowed at the resorts. I wonder if AKL is one of them.

What I don't understand is if the Mara is open, why would all of Jambo be closed? If you have guests coming in and out all day long to eat, might as well open the hotel.

If only Kadani is open, where will people eat? There needs to be a CS dining option of some sort right?
