Am I going to regret an early Splash FP and be soaked first thing?

We have gotten soaked to the point of water dripping off our eyeglasses. Bring the ponchos.

I got totally soaked on Splash Mountain. But then again I was seated in the front...lesson learned. My kids didn't mind getting wet but were not fans of the drop.

Splash will NEVER completely soak you...summer, winter, whenever. The "splash" simply isn't that big. You will get some water on you, but won't be soaked head to toe. So it's up to you if you want to move it. I wouldn't.

On our last trip one of my rides on Splash I got more wet then I have ever gotten before. I was drenched, our entire boat was. It was during an After Hours and I don't know what was going on, but definitely super wet. A 2nd ride in that same trip we also got very wet (not quite as bad, but still very wet). It was summer and it was okay. A bit uncomfortable, but not cold. I would not want to be that wet in a non summer month that early in the day. I would personally leave it until later or wear a poncho.

Your only regret will be wasting a FP on splash that early. You won't need it as its typically a walk on in the first hour or operation.

Splash is my FAVORITE ride! And its our first ride of the day regardless of time of year. We frequently go in December. Going early means you'll dry off quick...especially if you follow up with a ride on Big Thunder!

When we did the Ultimate Day of Thrills tour they started with Splash first followed by BTMRR. They referred to it as the "washer and dryer". :rotfl:

I found that if you sit in the very back, left side, you will hardly get wet. I sit there all the time in the morning cause i dont like getting too wet either.

summer = water cannons ON
fall, winter, morning= water cannons (usually) OFF

From off the ride, it appears like the dropping logs cause a big splash that hits other logs, but that is just an illusion created by the semi-hidden water cannons.

If you wish, watch the logs drop for a bit before you ride. You'll be able to tell if the water cannons are on.

Even when they are ON, most folks don't get hit by them.

If you can move it I would definitely move it to mid-day. Also, don't sit in the first row and ponchos are always an option.

We did Splash repeatedly last November during a cold snap: temps mostly topping out in the 60s, one day only in the 50s. We never got very wet. We were told they make it splash less when it is cold. We also never waited long, as people avoid it when it is cold. There was similarly no wait at the ice cream carts 😄

Either it will be cold, in which case you will probably not get too wet, or it will be hot, in which case you will want to get wet. No downside!

We rode Splash twice last week and did not get that wet either time. I would keep it and wear a poncho.

They turn on or off certain water features depending on the weather and time of year, so you might not get absolutely drenched. Also, the weather may be such that you don't mind--we've been in late October and the temps were in the high 80s. But I'd probably plan for the worst and have either a disposable poncho or an extra shirt, just in case.

The last time I rode Splash was a cold December trip and we were soaked through. We even stopped in the bathroom afterwards to remove and wring out our clothes. It took forever to get dry again. It was as bad as Kali that night. A lot of things play into how wet you get. I would not want to get that wet first thing.

One time the timing hit us just right to where we got around the corner after the big drop and another raft came down and DOUSED us over the rocks between. I was dripping wet from heat to toe but that was August so it felt awesome. In NOvember, I would use a poncho for sure

We skip Splash during our winter trips and ride it multiple times during our summer trips.

I’d probably avoid it

Lots of helpful tips here - thanks! We're riding in early November with an 11 am FP. We're committed to doing it regardless of the weather since we've never been able to before. Our kids won't do rides they might get wet on, so we've always had to skip Splash on family trips. I'm definitely going to wear a poncho and try to sit towards the back. DH will probably refuse the poncho, so fingers crossed it's warm or the splash factor is lowered!

Splash Mountain is hit or miss on splash factor, I think it depends on where you sit, weight distribution of the people in your log, etc. Last week I barely got wet at all, and other times in the past I've gotten soaked.
Most of the time, your bottom is going to get wet from the seat the moment you sit down. Bring a poncho and enjoy!
