When did Cindy & Charming stop going around @ 1900PF???

On Sunday I'm flying my daughter and her 3 friends to WDW for dinner at 1900 PF for her 8th birthday. I was showing the other moms the reviews on TA about how funny the stepsisters are and I noticed that as of late Cindy and Charming no longer walk around the dining room, they only meet at the end for a picture. What a bummer! And also, WTH?! The prices of these meals keep gong up and now the interaction is going down. Previously, we were able to see Cindy & Charming at least twice during our seating, and now all we'll get is a staged photo as we exit?

We've done 1900 PF for birthdays before and the birthday girl was able to dance with the Prince -- I was really hoping to do that again, clearly that's not happening.

The last time we were at 1900PF was 12/28/15 and they were visiting during dinner then, but I guess things have changed in the last year?

(Edit to fix date)

If you were there last week I'm not really sure any change since then can be assumed to be permanent.

When magic bands first rolled out we stayed one night at POP since we arrived late at night and the rest of our trip at POR. We ordered two sets of magic bands, one for use at each resort. Now that the program has been intact for years will we able to use one set of magic bands for all resorts? Yesterday my husband had me add a night before our trip to ASMo since he thinks we can get there a night early and decided to stay an extra night at the end at CBR pirate room since we couldn't add on to our POR stay(rooms not available). After booking our room yesterday it showed in MDE all our resorts. Our magic bands have already shipped.

Gaaahhhhhhhhhh I mean 2015 -- the last time I ate there was Christmas week of LAST year. Dates are tricky...

I keep reacting to your use of "Cindy and Charming". Are they your friends and these are the nicknames you all use with each other :-)
I know you mean Cinderella and Prince Charming but ...

Clearly we aren't that close since I didn't even know they stopped visiting during the meal :o Just when you think you REALLY know somebody....

They did this at breakfast aswell, we went and met the Mad Hatter at the end. I assume it's to get people out quicker, sitting and waiting for 5 characters to come round can take a long time.

Is this true?? Oh no!
We went to 1900PF for the first time about 18 months ago - DD is terrified of characters, but the others in our group really wanted to go. DD clung to me as the step sisters and step mother came around, and even when Cindy visited. However, Prince Charming came by, put his hand on DD's shoulder and said "Be right back princess, I have to dance with my wife!". DD flushed, and when he returned she clung to his arm and boldly stated she was in love! We were all flabbergasted as she's never done anything so bold before!

We have ADRs in March - she's so looking forward to spending time with her "boyfriend". If we have to wait until the end of the meal for a posed picture she'll be so disappointed.

That's too bad if this is a permanent change. We ate dinner there June 2016, and they walked around. We had really good character interactions with everyone that night.

It's supposed to be a permanent change, according to some Disney FB pages I follow. I hope it's not. I don't mind it with the Beast - he's too big and cumbersome to make his way table-to-table, but I book character meals to AVOID waiting in lines to meet the characters.

Thanks for the heads up! we are only budgeting for 1 character meal and this was on my short list!

Started before Christmas. Seems to be something they are testing as one day someone will say they walked around and another day someone will say they only met after. I guess it wouldn't bother me a lot other than it's always sweet to see them dance, the sisters make such faces when they start. Cracks me up. I won't miss Cindy and Charming (yeah, I use those names too, we are BFFs) but I'll miss them being there for the Step Family to interact off of

We went 12/24 and met them on the way out. Virtually no interaction with step sisters either. They walked around to greet tables and it was very subdued. It was a huge let down for us after hearing so many wonderful things about it.

We have eaten here many times throughout the years. The antics from the stepsisters can be really hit or miss. We've had the most fun you can have at a character meal here, and we've had really poor experiences here. It depends on how playful the sisters are on any given night.

I do like having one staged photopass photo at character meals, mostly because it's a better shot without the clutter of dirty dishes and other people in the background. But to have 2 of the 5 characters out of the rotation seems like it would take some of the life out of the dining room.

Just an update... we had dinner on Sunday night and it was as I read -- Cinderella and Prince Charming were just a staged (RUSHED) photo at the end of the meal, while the step mother and sisters were in the dining room.

I will say that the stepsisters were great with my daughter, the birthday girl. But as a previous poster mentioned, I really missed the interaction between Cinderella, the Prince, and the step family -- on previous visits they played really well off each other.

Of course I was the only one who really noticed any of this. All 4 girls thought it was great and had a blast, but I'm still going to email guest relations and voice my opinion just in case this is just a "trial" so I can provide feedback.

1) They are usually pretty animated and are considered one of the best, if not the best, character interaction meals.
2) Must have just been the crowd that night.
3) If the crowd does not react, the characters don't go overboard.
4) The better the crowd accepts them, the more the character react.

Oh no! This is disappointing news. Following thread to see if any changes.

NOOOO!!! I am completely bummed to read this! It was our group's (8 people, spanning ages 3 to 69) favorite character meal by far on our last trip! The step-sisters were a hoot, and my girls were completely smitten with Cinderella and Charming. We have it booked for Mardi Gras 2017 trip, and have been telling the family first-timers joining us this go round how awesome it was!! I'll keep an eye on reviews, but it just doesn't seem worth it with that kind of change. I'm sure some won't care, or even notice the difference, but we think it stinks!
