Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

We've been at CBR since 11/26.....
We are in Jamaica 44 room 4441... It's a second floor room with a Murphy bed. Great location!!!
We were pixie dusted and allowed to stay in our room for the entire stay. We had a RO for 11/26 and then pakage starting on 11/27. The pakage portion was supposed to be in a pirate room but they were able to let us keep our standard room.

:thumbsup2

Standard and Preferred Rooms with pull down bed
...
I am in the process of making a list of the rooms with a pull down bed. And, thanks to @SPOERLX3 for the help in compiling the list from fellow Disers who post their room numbers. So far, the following rooms have been reported as having them.
...

Rooms with Murphy beds at CBR
...
Barbados

1245 & 1246 (connecting too)
1315
1415
1416
1435
1553
1557
1619
1651

You can add Barbados 1413 to the list! I stayed in that room in July and there was a pull-down bed. I can't recall whether it connected to another room.

I was just told that there is an internal shuttle service in Caribbean Beach (we have stayed there before and nobody ever told us that...) ... How does it work?

Thanks in advance.

There's a bus that is marked internal on the signs that make a continuous loop around the resort. It stops at all 6 Villages, OPR and the Custom House. It almost never has anyone on it whenever we have seen it. IMHO it's not necessary.

I bet by the time you wait for it and make all the stops, you could have walked to where you wanted to go.

It can be handy in bad weather though. Once night it was pouring so hard and our room was close to the bus stop so we decided to run to the bus stop and take the bus to OPR instead of walking. We cheated though and took a MK bus that came by first since they hadn't been to that side of the resort yet.

After a great stay last year in a pirate room, we had booked another stay in a room with a pull down bed. We were assigned room 2216 first floor Martinique 22. It smelled awful. Just awful. Went to concierge and they reassigned us to room 3121 first floor Trinidad North 31. It was no better. Both rooms had a very strong stale/musty/smokey smell. Very disappointed.

Just as a note, like any of the park buses, you cannot take luggage on it as a general rule. So you'd have to either walk your first trip to the room or leave the luggage with bell services to have it delivered. They did make an exception late one night because it was after 11pm, there were only three of us (a couple who got there just before I did) and me), and we only had small carry-ons.

Headed home today after a 6 night stay at CBR. I posted earlier that I had requested ground floor and close to parking lot but for assigned 2nd level in Barbados. They moved us to Aruba 5423. This was a great room very close to the parking lot! It had a murphy bed. About a 10 minute walk to OPR. Kids loved the pool and I was thankful for the zero entry and splash pad for my 1yo. We stayed at POR last year and I feel that CBR was much better for the pool. I could easily find a spot to watch the kids. At POR it seemed difficult to find a chair and be able to see the kids in the water.

The food court was fine, only busy one morning when we were there but we were not in a hurry as that was our resort day.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pulled pork sandwich, the Caribbean spices/salsa thing made it very yummy! I do prefer the make your own pasta at POR.

The last day Pop Warner kids started arriving. We were walking to/from OPR and very disappointed to see a group using bad language and unchaperoned. This really turned my husband off.

2 nights we had a strange smell coming into our room, one night it was so late we didn't tell anyone (it was sewer smelling). Then I forgot about the smell. Then this morning DH said he smelled it again in the middle of the night. Very strange.

All the CM'S were very nice!

Our last night after the kids were in bed I snuck out alone with a glass of wine and walked over to OPR to watch Illuminations along with the Christmas ending. It was a magical end to a great trip.

Options are limited for a family of 5+1 and I don't know if we will return next year but if we do it will probably be at CBR!

Has anyone seen the December activities calendar? All I seem to be able to find anywhere is November's. Checking for movies on Tuesday and/or Thursday December 13 an 15?
Thanks

Same here. The sites I check usually post the new one on the 2nd or 3rd. With it being the weekend, I am hoping they are up on Monday.

Hi!

I am going next week and I am so excited and.. have another question.
Does the fridge in the room have a freezer compartment?

Thanks!

Some do and some don't. Check out the pics in post #6 of this thread to see what the freezer compartment looks like for the fridges that do have them.

Thank you! I just did! The freezer looks extremely small... hmmmm :)
