Ok, adventurous eaters... I would love your opinions on Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot's Morocco.
It is one of the few places we haven't tried yet in the WS and seems really easy to grab a last minute ADR. Is it because of how exotic it seems, or is it a subpar experience?

We love it but I lived in the Middle East for a number of years so I enjoy the food they serve. I don't really think it's all that exotic and we enjoy it and the staff is always friendly.

It's good, but steer away from chicken. Tends to be drive. We love both the spice road table and marrakesh. I find spice road to be hotter in spice than marrakesh. I like marrakesh better.

We enjoyed it in March. I would go again. However, there are a lot of new places that I want to try first. I liked Spice Road better. I think Spice Road is less Moroccan and more Mediterranean influenced, but I like the small plates and the view is great. Marrakesh is a lot of food. The interior is beautiful, and the the music and dancing are great. I have not eaten Moroccan food before, but I think it's fairly authentic. I suspect it may not be the best preparation, since it's Disney. I really liked the Beef Brewat, Lemon Chicken (was a little dry though), and the Seafood Bastilla.

The food isn't as adventurous as it must have seemed in 1986, not when your local grocery store probably sells tabbouleh and couscous. However, my family was apprehensive when we ate in December 2014. The interior design is breathtaking, the portions ample -- we could not eat the rest of the day at the park. While I've eaten more creatively spiced North African food, I had no complaints other than dry chicken. And if you've got children they'll love the belly dancer (G-rated, by the way).

We all love it my daughter and I are kind of picky eaters. We will make sometimes 1 or 2 reservations there on a trip. Wife is the more adventurous eater and will eat just about anything on the menu. Daughter usually has a chicken dish I think a kabob. I order the App. sampler for 2. It has A salad, my wife has that LOL and then Chicken Bastilla and Beff Brawat rolls which I love both. As noted before portions are more then enough. Desert are pretty simple but good, we have had Baklava and I forget the dish but is was a cake/bread thing with a very subtley flavored cream sauce I think citrus flavored, really good. Of course you could always hope over to France bakery is you want dessert.

We love all the Morocco restaurants and I wouldn't say it is something I look for at home.

Just ate at Marrakesh in May, lunch, enjoyed all the music and belly dancer. This time we decided to enjoy appetizers and beer. We ordered three and was way more than enough for 2 of us. I don't think we finished them. Great value for the cost.

I enjoy it and have there multiple times. Only going to give it a pass next trip to try something different - was getting in a rut. I My favorite is the couscous M'rouzia Fassi.

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Chicken Bastilla
. . . entree:.. Roast Lamb Meshoui, Sultan's Sampler Platter
. . . dessert:. Moroccan Symphony
.
NOTE: Restaurant Marrakesh serves flavorful specialties, using a long list of herbs and spices including saffron. My fav appy is bastilla (fried pastry) has layers of pastry with chicken seasoned with Almonds, sugar and cinnamon. At lunch and dinner, a talented
belly dancer entertains with live music (sensual, but not at all risque). If you like new things it is a good change of pace. And, usually easy to get ressies, as many people overlook this place.

We really enjoy it. After DH and I finally tried it, we took our boys last year and they loved it enough that they both requested we go again this Nov. :) As pp's have said, the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous!

I love your reviews!

I think Marrakesh is ok but they are trying too hard to fit into "theme park" expectations (too bland). Spice Road doesn't do this as much. But it's also pretty empty much of the time which is too bad.

I am an adventurous eater and really enjoy flavor.

Marrakesh is among my worst restaurants at WDW, and one that I hope to never return to. I gave it another chance 2 years ago, and once again food quality was horrible, service slow, and altogether a very poor experience. @TheRustyScupper 's review is pretty spot on for my opinions. There are many, many more options for fabulous dining at Disney (one of the main reasons I love it there so much!!).

We like it. We have ADRs for December. We plan on ordering these appys for the table as it will make it more like what we enjoy at our favorite Moroccan restaurant. We tend to avoid the dry chicken dishes.
Assorted Mediterranean Salads for Two
Falafel, Sundried Tomato Hummus, Roasted Eggplant Purée, and Tabouleh and
Moroccan Salad Combination For Two
Green Pepper and Tomato, Marinated Olives, Carrots, Potatoes, and Cucumber Salad

Wife and I ate at Marrakesh during our 2015 trip.

The restaurant is pretty darn quiet by WDW standards, so it's great for a break from the park noise and bustle. Portions are more than ample. The only negative I would give it is that the flavor profiles of dishes are too "tame", borderline bland--If Disney wants to have a Moroccan restaurant, then they really should commit to it in the food! (To be fair, this is a pet peeve of mine regarding most restaurants in the World Showcase.)

The interior décor is beautiful, and the music and belly dancing are great. Wait service was adequate. We ate here as part of the CP during the Christmas season. The taste and flavor of the food was not what I enjoy. I generally shy away from spicy foods. I personally would not go back, to many other choices.
