Need advise where to eat for lunch by myself

My son and I will be at WDW this November 2016 for 8 days. We will be together everyday except for one day. He has AP and since he has never been to waterpark in FL, he wants to go. I'm not interested in waterpark so we will be doing our own thing one day.

That morning, we had ADR at Kona at 8:15 am breakfast. We will be having light breakfast (tonga toast and macadamia pancake for the first time) and then he will be going to TL and I will be going to one of the park. I haven't decided which park because it will depend on where I want to eat. We also have 7:40 pm ADR at Teppan Edo to eat together.

I want to try something we don't have ADR for. Since this is our "food trip", we had ADR to Liberty Tree, Skipp0er Canteen, Via Napoli, Rose & Crown, Homecoming, Boma, Sanaa, Sci Fi, Kona Cafe for breakfast, Teppan Edo, Biergarten, The Wave, Mama Melrose, 50's Prime Time, Yak & Yeti, Rainforest, and Raglan Road on our last day.

I'm an eater and need somewhere for me to eat late lunch. I'm not picky (unlike my son who doesn't like seafood so most of the restaurant we chose are not "seafood" restaurant).

Where would you recommend (park and place to ea)...somewhere not too inconvenient to travel back and forth. I'm not really interested in CS since we did that in April 2016 trip.

Thank you

I would stick with MK (close to Kona) or Epcot (where you will end up anyhow)---that is unless you are staying somewhere you might get a nice lunch.

Coral Reef was not good Seafood. I had the Mahi Mahi...it was a small portion and tasted like a Lean Cuisine fish entree. (The calimari was good, the kids fish of the day was good-I believe it was salmon, but their signature dish is the Mahi Mahi)

In Epcot, we enjoyed San Angel Inn for lunch. It's kind of quiet and dark (so being solo wouldn't matter), I found the shrimp cocktail, tostadas de tinga, and steak tacos to be good.

The Tonga toast and macadamia pancake are each a very filling entrée, even if you only eat half of just one of them. Not what I would consider to be a light breakfast. So after this meal, I'd choose a late lunch place where I could get something light like a green salad. Or, I'd make it a two-meal day. Three full meals in one day, with the first one as that breakfast, would be a lot of food.

Thank you for the advise. Since we'll be there at November during Food & Wine, maybe I'll just get something from kiosk so I won't be so full for dinner ADR.

It's on my list but I would like to try the Boathouse in Downtown Disney. I also enjoy fish and chips in England at Epcot.

If you're there during the F&W Festival, just walk the countries and eat a little from whatever kiosks tickle your fancy.
We love to do that when we're at F&W..."gnosh around the world". :)

I went with my family on our most recent trip and while they were having lunch at the America Pavilion, I tried the quick service in Japan. The atmosphere was wonderful - very peaceful and the food was delicious! Even if you don't end up eating there, I highly recommend the strawberry azuki bean ice cream! :cloud9:

How about something from the patessierre in France? Lots of sweet and savory options there.

Or if you have dinner plans, you may be okay with ice cream or a pretzel.

I second that recommendation if you are going to be there in early November.

Continuing the Epcot related possibilities, another suggestion might be to wander out the International Gateway to the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club which has a couple of seafood items on the menu. Or perhaps to the Boardwalk for lunch at the Big River Grill followed by dessert at the new Ample Hills ice cream shop.

That is what I plan on doing. I have dinner at Marrakesh at 6pm so before that I will enjoy some snacks from around the world.

I second or third just walking around F&W and sampling. The only problem with that is you might find yourself A: getting way to full to enjoy a big supper and B: spending a lot of money. I go solo to WDW every year for F&W and 80% of my meals come from F&W booths. The rest are QS breakfast, tea at the GF, one food and wine pairing meal and the culinary demos they do in the festival center.

Can I join you? A "food trip" sounds like my type of Disney Trip LOL. Have you thought about San Angel Inn? Really nice inside by the water and every time I ate there I loved the food. I think if you ate outside the parks you'd obviously have more options, but in the parks maybe stay in Epcot since you have that 7:40 ADR.

LOL! I'll ask my son!
I already have ADR for San Angel Inn. It was hard deciding between La Hacienda and San Angel Inn but decided to go with ambience.
I originally made few ADR outside the park but I became too lazy and decided it's too much work to find transportation or walk.

EDIT: I should mention only exception outside the park is Boma and Sanaa. Since I heard so much of it here, I made ADR for myself and my son.

Understandable! If you liked Boma and Sanaa, we ate at Jiko last trip and it was one of the best meals ive ever had in my life (not just on property). I HIGHLY suggest it. They have a huge selection of African wines and the Boar app was INCREDIBLE.

If MK--then I would go to Jungle Navigation Co. Skipper Canteen and get the fish of the day--when I was there it was black cod and it was delicious.
If EP--then I would go to Chefs de France and have their 3-course lunch--ask for a table by the windows. I also enjoy the atmosphere at the San Angel Inn.

Have a fun foodie time!

My favorite TS solo is Chefs de France-I ask for a window table. Then I can people watch all through dinner. The only strange thing is that I don't know if the window glass reflects strangely-lots of people outside came up to the window and stared down at my food for several seconds. I've also enjoyed Coral Reef. I've always pointed out when I check in that I'm solo and I ask nicely if I can get a tank-side table so I'll have something to look at while I eat, since I won't have a dining companion. Everytime I've eaten lunch there, I've always gotten a tank-side table.

With breakfast at Kona and dinner at Marrakesh - definitely just snack for lunch! If not something at a food kiosk during F&W - I sometimes make the trip to Poly to get a Dole Whip from them instead of waiting in line at MK. If you go for the food kiosks - read the choices BEFORE you go (allears.net always posted the choices) - there are SO many things that are yummy to try - you can really fill up if you don't plan ahead/pace yourself. During F&W - on the day I plan to hit the kiosks - I might eat a light breakfast in the room (like a bowl of cereal or a PopTart) - and that's it. The rest is sampling around the world.

If you are going solo....go to the place nobody else ever wanted to try if you traveled with others in the past.
