**Official August 2016 Check In Thread**

I do believe crowds will be a bit higher, but I was expecting it for the week we were going anyway (Aug 22nd - 26th). I knew that is when the block out days end and it is usually busier that week. I am just glad to be able to go this year, so I am going to try not to let it bother me. Congrats to all those that have reached the single digit mark. Have fun!

It was very busy while we were there, but starting early and smart touring got us on all of our favorite rides multiple times. We avoided the middle part of the day when almost everything had 40+ min waits and came back in the evening when it was cooler and lines were shorter. It worked really well for us. Make good use of fast passes. We saw people getting fast passes for Soarin' when the line was about a 10 min wait, not the best use of a fast pass.

I never understand why people get fastpasses for Soarin' when there is no wait. They probably have their schedule and that is what the plan says to do, so they don't alter from it. We definitely do the early mornings and come back in the evenings. Glad you had a good time.

Leaving tomorrow morning! On Delta ... which is not good news. Anyone seen the news that their system went down for like 6 hours this morning? They have flight cancellations and delays worldwide. :( Hopefully will be better by tomorrow but who knows with that many cancellations.

Hoping you were able to get there without a delay or cancellation! Have a great trip.

Two weeks from now I will be flying down to Anaheim! My 30th birthday is on the 25th, and unlike some people who mope about turning 30, I'm going to be positive and surround myself with the happiness of DLR/DCA! My DH made birthday dinner reservations for us Thursday night at Blue Bayou. I have ALWAYS wanted to go there, and am over the moon excited.

It's been a few years since I've been to DLR/DCA, so I'm torn on good places for lunch. Any suggestions?

My sister and I leave in 8 days for 2 full days in the parks! I've never planned any trip so quickly. We only just decided to go on Sunday, and then booked flights on Monday! Still feel like we got a good deal for being last minute, 166 roundtrip. I made ADRs for Carnation one day and Cafe Orleans the next day. My sister will be 16 weeks pregnant so this trip is mostly about food and the 60th anniversary! I couldn't miss seeing PTN and Forever in person (soundtracks are on repeat right now)! SO excited for a trip with no kids and no husbands!! I havent been to the park in 4 years, and she hasn't been there in a decade!!

I'm interested to hear updates on crowd levels in the next week!! With 60th ending, and HM about to go down for halloween, I imagine its nuts.

I don't mean they are bumping up the number allowed in - just that people that maybe weren't planning to go before, now will be making sure to get there before the parade goes away. Therefore bumping up the number of guests in the park this last few weeks.

i'm one of those people! I'm sorry!! :confused3

That sounds like a ton of fun. We were leaving in 11 days, but I just added another day today to our trip, so we are now 10 days away! I hope you and your sister have an amazing time!
