Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Can't get a handle on this news... Refillable Mug change?

In case you missed this thread on the resort boards, reports are that the refill mugs no longer have handles. And something about freestyle coke machines.

Here's the link and the picture.

Refill Mugs with no Handles

Can someone at the resort now or soon confirm what is available?

:thumbsup2

Nooooo. I like the handle. Coffee, how am I to hold a hot cup of coffee?

Thank you all for your help on this thread. I've made the perfect plans for my daughter's 21st birthday trip October 6-11 at the Beach Club.
Unfortunately, I can't go now, but her boyfriend is going to take her. I'm still excited for all the plans I have made. They're mainly doing the Food and Wine Festival, and will also go to MNSSHP.

What a great info thread, thanks for the hard work!

I've been planning a trip for next June this past week - yeah, I'm jumping the gun a wee bit - and we're hoping for a POR/YC split stay with 5 park days and 4 (FOUR!) goof-off days to enjoy the resorts and DS. Reading about the rooms and views today has been a lot of fun. I just want to thank everyone who contributes info because my SV or GV question was easily answered, LOL! Definitely want GV, even with the hot weather.

One question, that I'm sure is answered but cannot find, is if requesting a room close lobby/elevator is similar to close to pool? Or, would they need to be prioritized separately? I know requests are just that.

I'm a brand new poster, but have been reading this thread for a few weeks! My family is booked for a stay 11/17-11/25 in a Garden View YC room. My parents are joining us, arriving 11/20 and staying through 11/25, also in a Garden View room at the Yacht Club. We've noted each other's confirmation numbers asking to be located nearby, so hopefully that works even though we are arriving on different dates! Does anyone know if there are connecting rooms at Yacht Club?

:welcome:

I'll add you (and your parents) to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

:cool1:

:welcome: and thanks for the kind words.

I'll pencil you in on the list for next June.

:woohoo:

Yes, close to pool/lobby is the same at the Yacht Club.

I'm not as familiar with the layout of the YC- there may be another elevator away from the lobby (or there may not be- can someone help....) so that may make the request for elevator slightly different unless you specify "Close to lobby elevator, please"

::yes::

Excellent, and thank you!
I'm writing that in my Notebook O' Disney I started.

Quick question about a BCV stay on points. Trash and towel service is the 4th day, if I have read correctly. So to count for that, is check in day counted as a day, or does it start the day after? If we check in on Friday, will we receive T&T service on Monday or Tuesday? Also, does this include toiletries? And can extras be requested before then if needed? Thanks!

4th physical day. So if you arrive on Monday it will be Thursday. I was a day off on our laat trip and felt really bad.

You can request extras but you will probably be charged. You may be able to ask a mousekeeper if you see them and not get charged. I have asked for an extra set of towels and had no problem paying the few extra dollars. I have also taken some pool towels to use.

There is another elevator at YC further from the lobby. The room we had in Nov was near this elevator and the YC quiet pool. My guess is you could request near elevator and pool and maybe get a room near the YC quiet pool all the way on the other side of the resort? I remember we were a long walk from the YC lobby.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. I'll use Natebenma's "close to lobby elevator" for sure.

We are leaving for Florida 4 weeks from Sunday. So excited. Spending 2 nights at LEGOLAND (surprise for our children) and then 10 days at BC. This is the first time at BC and are super excited. We have 3 children and I just saw the pictures of the new mugs. I guess I am cheap but I am not going to buy them since it will cost around $45 for 3 mugs? Its just too much to spend to have the kids drinking soda. I am going to get a food order from Amazon pantry and will get a few 12 packs of soda. Question-does anyone know if Amazon pantry delivers wine? Mommy needs her wine while she is relaxing at night at the resort. NOT doing any online check in or request. Just going to roll the dice:thumbsup2

I totally get it. We're almost exclusively water drinkers at home and soda/tea/juice is a rarity. However, I'm going to buy the mugs for my 3 kids because we'll be spending 4 days without going to a park and resort afternoon swim breaks on the other 5. 3 refills of any fountain beverage (sodas aren't the only offering) a day for the 3 mugs over 9 nights is a bargain for me, who doesn't want to haul cans to the pool. We'll use them more often than that. We don't have any Disney mugs so it's a nice souvenir, too.

I keep saying "vacation, vacation, vacation" to myself. It's like a spoonful of sugar ;)

Oh, and we're driving over two days to bring wine/beer with us! Oh the compromises we make.

Because Disney surveyed its guests and found they wanted a reusable mug without a handle at least that is the usual party line from Disney when anything changes. :rotfl2::confused3:laughing:

They *always* say "based on member feedback" to DVC owners every time they take something away.

ANYWAY, sorry for my little off topic digression there. 39 days till BCV, mug handles or not!!
