Anyone ever rent a speed racer? Was it worth it in your opinion? How fast do they go? Might be fun activity for my husband and I to do one afternoon!

Oh, by the way, do you guys know if I can order chocolate covered strawberries and champagne/sparkling wine from Room Service? I want to surprise hubby one evening.

Here is the in room dining menu. I don't see the CCS's but you could ask.

I do get mine at The Confectionery at MK on main street. However they are seasonal so not always available.

I think if you try ordering the day before maybe they can get them from The Grand??

Are you staying CL? I think I remember that you are, so if you get a chance, I would LOVE to know what type of food they are offering now. I've heard they've added a few things since we were there last...like chips and dip in the afternoon?? I hope so. We will be there July 26th-31st, so maybe we'll see you there! It's not hard to miss my 6'4" husband...plus we'll have my 81 year old FIL with us since his wife just passed away recently...so we'll be easy to spot. Stay cool...it's gonna be hot!! I hope you're heading to the pool soon. I wish I were there now!

So how was first floor?

It was OK! It was very quiet compared to what I thought it would be like - there was no noise from the quiet pool or above us. It would have been nice to have more of a view from the 3rd floor & the staff also had to move our outdoor furniture into the room over the holiday of July 3rd through the 4th as it can go missing during the firework shows. If we had a full house it really wouldn't have been convenient as that took up a LOT of space even stacked! Since it was just the two of us though we didn't mind much. If it hadn't been so hot I may have wanted to sit out there so moving it back and forth might have been a pain. When I went swimming it was nice going through the sliding door to the pool, but if my husband had gone with me I wouldn't have wanted to leave it unlocked!

26 days for me! I will be celebrating my 50th birthday at my favorite place.
We are doing 3 nights four days with one day at DS one at the MK and the two resort days.

Then I can plan for next June. Well, I have already started, lol. Can't ever plan to soon .

They did have chips and dip this afternoon. They had ice cream cones filled with fruit, crudite and dip. No cookies or candy during the afternoon. For tonight's appetizers, it was chicken wings, crab rangoon, mini corndogs. There was brie, swiss, and pepperjack cheese. Red pepper hummus and mini pita, plus veggies and dip.

We are in the lounge waiting for our Twilight Feast. There is another family doing it also. The concierge highly recommended eating here rather than the room.

Wow, they really have changed things! It sounds pretty good! I'll be interested to hear what they've added for breakfast and what they've taken away for evening cordials (they've all made cuts there). Enjoy! I can't wait to be there...as you know, Trish will be there...and blueskies is coming next weekend!! (Pas is going to visit) Party at the Poly! I'll be interested in the Twilight Feast details

Aloha from the Poly! We checked in this morning around 11 and our room was ready. We received our requested 3rd floor Fiji and we are thrilled with the location. We noticed some drainage problems in sink and shower, nothing horrible but not to live with for a week so I will speak to someone when we get back to the room (riding monorail now).

We had an amazing day with lunch at Captain Cook's (so yummy), cocktails at Tambu, and dinner at 'Ohana. Everything was near perfect.

The grounds are beautiful. I have been taking lots of photos but can't post until I get home because the files are too big.

MK was amazing today. We managed to do so much for an EMH morning day mid-summer. We expected much worse! It is our first experience in "new" Fantasyland and we are blown away.

Who has requested Samoa and gotten their request ?
If we ask for Samoa 3rd floor facing the volcano pool, do you think this is to much to request?

It is not too much to request, and you should absolutely go ahead and requesthe!

We have stayed at the Poly several times and have always made requests. They have been granted every time except once. We arrive before lunch and the time our request was not granted, we remindedicated the CM and said we were willing to wait and got reassigned.

We stayed in Samoa 3rd floor volcano side twice and it could not be more perfect!

No, I think that is fine. I usually request Samoa, third floor. I don't care if we face the volcano pool or the oasis pool. For all three trips, we got Samoa facing the oasis pool, twice on the third floor and once on the second. I think we've come to like the oasis pool side of Samoa better; much more quiet and the whole pool area is gorgeous and an awesome view to have.
