What books do you re-read?

To Kill a Mockingbird has been read so many times the pages are falling out.

Harry Potter would be in the same condition had JK Rowling not finally succumbed to allowing them to be released in ebook format.

The Wally Lamb novels are on my multiple read list despite most having disturbing subjects.

I've also read Same Kind of Different as Me multiple times despite it making me cry until my head hurts.

Otherwise most books are a one time read for me.

Sure, for the simple reason that because it's a book, the plot is more complicated. There are more characters some of which were combined in the Disney film. Perdita is a different character than Missus (Perdita is the film) with her own sad backstory. There's actually a Mr de Vil (Cruella's husband). I just really loved the book which I first read as a child in the '70s and enjoy rereading from time to time 40 years later! Don't get me wrong, the 1961 Disney film is a favorite, but there's just so much more to the book.

That sounds like a good read. I'm going to check that out. Always looking for something else to read to the kids.

I've re-read a lot, ones that I've read multiple times include:

Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind
Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn
Pretty much all of Michael Crichton
Harry Potter series

Death In The Long Grass

Couldn't tell you how many times I've read it over the past 35 years. Nice part is you can pick a random chapter rather than always starting on page 1.

I'm not a fan of re-reading books but I do read Gone With the Wind once a year and have done so since I was about 10 years old. I've also read To Kill a Mockingbird twice (watched the movie more times than I can count). I have re-read a few books by accident just because I forgot I had already read them and didn't figure it out until about half way into the book and figured what the heck.

It seems like Harry Potter is the winner :) I forgot to add The Outsiders. I can't even count how many times I've read that. My dd just finished it this morning and wanted to wake me up at 5 am and holler at me "WHY, why did you make me read this?" She was blubbering like a baby. Of course, we had to watch it already today :) Annnnddd....I've seen the movie more times than I read it probably. I had the dern thing memorized.

I've read early The Cat Who books many times. I find them relaxing and grab one when I feel stressed.

I've also read Agatha Christie Poirot books over again and a book called Christy. In fact I need to find my copy of Christy... Oh and Little Women too. I have read that my whole life.

I'll check out Jaws.

I've reread more books than I can even think of but some books that I read growing up I'll revisit now & then like the Chronicles of Narnia or John Bellairs' books. I love Stephen King, so I often reread his books - Bag of Bones seems to call my name in the summer for some reason, and Salems Lot in the Fall. And the Dark Tower series - I'm due for that again soon! And of course, Christmas Carol every year in December

HP series is probably what I've read the most over and over.
Wild Swans, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, The Long Walk, and Long Walk to Freedom have also been read over and over again.

I attempt to read everything and anything at least once - except for 50 Shades of Crap, I couldn't get beyond the first few chapters.

I'm in agreement with folks on a lot of these (Harry Potter, LOTR, Wheel of Time, etc.). I'll add a few that haven't been mentioned, but which I've read so many times I've destroyed my copies: The Killer Angels, Secretariat, The Ancestor's Tale, The Phantom Tollbooth, Where the Red Fern Grows, Lost Moon...many, many others.
