Skull Island: Reign of Kong

Thanks so much!! We plan to go in December so I might just go through the ride queue with him and do a swap. Really glad to know they won't jump out on my 2 year old. He is 35" right now so not sure if he would make the height requirement anyway. :) thanks again!!

I announced our presence whenever I heard/saw an actor. "Hi! She's not even three! Please don't jump out at her!"

LOL! I guess DH and I have to look out for them and do the same... Maybe by then they would be used to more kids going through... Still, I guess it's better safe than sorry

Thanks again @Jonny_Duck. Just one last question, this ride does not have any harnesses? I'm just wondering because my 2 year old has reach 35" so if this is true, he can technically ride this. (Not sure if we would take him) :P

No harness so he might technically be able to ride, but I wouldn't recommend it for a 2 year old. We were able to ride last Saturday (posted wait was 120 but we got on in under an hour). Lot of things that might be too intense for that age - a small dinosaur being ripped in half, creatures on the screen looking like they are coming at the truck, etc. Even the line has some things that might be unsettling for that age group.

why haven't USO announced an opening date yet. Please universal, please please please.

ohhh thats so close! What a way to leave it till the last minute. Still my visit isn't until October so I'm hoping it will be open then.

They would have wanted to get all the major kinks out first. The tragedies in Orlando have also affected any grand opening celebrations.

i thought i read the opening would be late summer.

in theme park talk, that usually means by mid of the month.

would be super to have the ride up and running by the 4th of july.

I wouldn't hesitate bringing someone that young on but then again I'm a terrible person. I actually kinda think Disaster and Jaws were probably scarier rides since they were real sets with real explosions while this is just a CGI monkey flying around a screen....I saw plenty of kids handle those rides. It certainly is a haunting type atmosphere though so I can see how some kids who can't disasiate real from fake would have a hard time with this. The 3D also was more depth 3D rather than the type they use to shoot things in your face like Terminator does.

In the end though idt your kid will turn out to be a serial killer over seeing this at two but OTOH he/she probably won't remember the ride anyway so why take the chance. Lots to experience in the park with the kid that'll even let you get a nice photo to remember it by. Although one of my memories is my Nephew balling and flipping out on Shrek....If you want those memories then maybe this is a good ride to make that happen. :D

I am bringing my 9 year old twins on it if they can watch horror movies and walk through all the HHN houses they will be fine with King Kong.

Missed it by about 6 weeks, was there right before Memorial Day weekend.:sad1: Oh well, NEXT time, looking forward to it!:woohoo:

the wait time is on my universal wait time app as of yesterday, and it states that it does have ep

It is open but still has the "technical rehearsal" signs displayed. My 4 yr old loved it. He just hit 40" so lots of new things to experience this trip.

With the other rides I went on once they first open, express is not open
Until later

This way all have the same wait for the ride which is fair for everyone

Express could open a week (or two) after the ride officially opens
Shrek started the ep lines in less than a week when I was there
