The (Foodie)Force is Strong with Us...a Feb/Mar 2016 trip! THE END - NEW 9/13 Disneyland TR link!

I absolutely love Ohana's breakfast! Stitch is my favorite character and the waffles are so adorable. Plus, the juice! YUMM!!

I've been dying to get that same Her Universe droid dress... I'm probably going to have to get it this trip. I won't be able to resist it for a third time!

We had such a great time at Ohana breakfast. It such a feel good experience! And that's so true about it feeling like your first time at RnR each time. Man, I love that ride. Another great SW outfit you were wearing too! :D

Cute dresses! I love your trip reports, thank you for sharing. Fantastic Star Wars pictures, yummy looking desserts. I've done the Wishes dessert party. Star Wars looks like a blast.

That Droid dress is super cute! I don't know why Kylo is always throwing shade. At least he didn't have another one of his temper tantrums ;)

Mmmm, yum, love 'Ohana breakfast when staying at the Poly! :thumbsup2

Love the dress you wore that day (and the one you bought). Very cool.

Great pic w/Mike and Sully - we've gotta meet those guys someday! :sulley:

Looking forward to hearing about V&A's.

Look at these delicious sticky rolls. They had raisins and a light icing on the top. You pull them apart and they are quite yummy!

Aloha Stitch! He was making his way around the restaurant with all the kiddos.

If only chunkysis was with you guys, you know she'd totally be in line with all the kids :-)

Love the pic and your dress. Very cute.

We did the shaka signs because we were full of Aloha spirit from breakfast! And also very full from breakfast.
First I never know where the dang cameras are, but how in the world can you hold your composure on this ride long enough to strike a pose. I can only ever manage squinty eyes while screaming face.

I enjoyed my solo time at DHS! I walked around the Streets of America (what is it called now, did they change it's name?) and took pictures of all the details on the streets.
I think at this point its called Streets blocked off soon to be demolished for other lands of America :P

My sister has the same dress which she wore during Star Wars Day at Sea on our cruise, and I liked it so much I had to get one of my own. So don't be surprised if you see us wearing them at the same time in a future TR!

Love this!!!!!

It was so nice to stroll from our room to breakfast.
I find myself spending more and more time at the Poly these days, so I think booking a stay there is inevitable at some point! (I've even debated switching my Beach Club stay for October to the Poly, but Epcot... and Food & Wine... Nope, staying at BC!)

Am I hearing right that these rolls are used in the bread pudding at dinner? No wonder I liked them so much :)
WHAT! That makes so much sense, as I love them both!

Our server brought us yummy POG (passion, orange, guava juice, also known as jungle juice at Boma)
Mmm, I can drink a gallon of that stuff. Love it.

irst was a fruit platter. I appreciated the fruit during breakfast and liked that they had some raspberries and pineapple in it so that wasn't just boring cantaloupe and melon.

Unfff, all those delicious carbs... Yummm...

I don't know how it's possible but we got another skillet full of food. I think we only wanted more eggs and sausage, but in the end they just brought us another platter, which had more food than the first one. OMG so much food!!
This is a very good problem to have!

I really liked how one of the waffles was a Stitch waffle though! So cute!

Cute, yes... but admit it... The Mickey waffle tasted better, didn't it? (I'm partial to Mickey waffles...)

It was a yummy and filling breakfast filled with Aloha. They also brought me a birthday cupcake, which i could only take a bite of because I was too full. I forgot that Ohana does this but I thought it was just for dinner. But I've had cupcakes for breakfast before...hehe :rolleyes1

WHAT! This is adorable!

After RnRC we headed over to Star Wars Launch Bay, and we caught a PP Photographer outside ToT. OMG I look so windblown, LOL!

n front of Launch Bay I still had no success of gathering any attention of the Stormtroopers.

Right before I got into Watto's Grotto, look who I run into! There was no line and they were awesome!

I love this pic!
OMG HOW FUN!!!

I'm sad that it's closed now, but I assume they will just be building an even better store when Star Wars Land opens.
I'm so sad I missed this!

I saw those shoes too. They looked like house loafers to me. I pictured some guy wearing them with a velvet smoking jacket:rotfl2: This thought almost made me get some, but they looked very impractical and uncomfortable. That dress is cute. You will have to wear them together in pics:)

My same thoughts on the shoes - they did look like slippers, but they are actually made out of stiff leather. So not quite slipper-ish as I thought. LOL.
I'm pretty sure you will see CS and I in the same dress...it's a given. I am not into that, but she says i must, I have to, WE have to because of pictures, so I relent...sigh.

Great update!

I love your millennium falcon dress, so cute! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day.

Thank you!! Had to go with the Light side for today. :)

I absolutely love Ohana's breakfast! Stitch is my favorite character and the waffles are so adorable. Plus, the juice! YUMM!!

Can't really go wrong with that breakfast. I like how everything is brought to you and the characters are fun. I love everything about it!

I've been dying to get that same Her Universe droid dress... I'm probably going to have to get it this trip. I won't be able to resist it for a third time!

Haha me too, I finally bit the bullet and got one of my own. My sister got a ton of compliments on her dress. And about 3 other people were wearing her dress during the cruise too. :rotfl:

We had such a great time at Ohana breakfast. It such a feel good experience! And that's so true about it feeling like your first time at RnR each time. Man, I love that ride. Another great SW outfit you were wearing too! :D

Thanks! The breakfast was awesome! Thank you!

Cute dresses! I love your trip reports, thank you for sharing. Fantastic Star Wars pictures, yummy looking desserts. I've done the Wishes dessert party. Star Wars looks like a blast.

Thank you!! Thanks for reading my TR! The Star Wars dessert party was a lot of fun. I don't think it's a must do, but I do enjoy it and you're guaranteed a spot with a great view. the Chewie mug is pretty neat too. Although I wish they handed out BB-8 cups since they are so hard to find. Hehe. I hear the new fireworks show is going to be awesome! I really really want to see that now.

That Droid dress is super cute! I don't know why Kylo is always throwing shade. At least he didn't have another one of his temper tantrums ;)

Thanks! It's a super cute dress and I'm excited to wear it. I'm glad Kylo didn't have his lightsaber. Who knows what he'd destroy next?!

Mmmm, yum, love 'Ohana breakfast when staying at the Poly! :thumbsup2

Yes! It was yummy and a lot of fun!

Love the dress you wore that day (and the one you bought). Very cool.

Thanks!

Great pic w/Mike and Sully - we've gotta meet those guys someday! :sulley:

I was lucky to see both of them at the same time. The last time I was there, I think it was only Mike.

Oh my gosh, your dh in that last photo :rotfl2: what a ham!! :rotfl:

Yes haha, he is.

That dress is all kinds of cute!

Thanks! It is very cute and quite flattering on!

Can't wait to read about V&A's!

coming up soon!

Oh these look amazing. And double points for your nails still looking so good after a week at sea. Impressive.

Haha, thanks! I made sure to get them the day before we left! And they are OPI Gel nails so they last a long time. I dont' know how I could have done these long trips without gel nails!

If only chunkysis was with you guys, you know she'd totally be in line with all the kids :-)

Haha she'd probably shove the kids out of the way to take her selfies!

Love the pic and your dress. Very cute.

First I never know where the dang cameras are, but how in the world can you hold your composure on this ride long enough to strike a pose. I can only ever manage squinty eyes while screaming face.

Haha I'm usually like that but after many times on this ride we decided we needed more interesting ride pictures. The camera is right at the beginning when you feel the first rush of speed. One thing I've found hard is trying to hold a straight unemotional face. I wanted to do a sleeping face, but I can never ever seem to not open my mouth to scream on this ride!
Oh but the cameras on Test Track....can't figure out where they are ever since the renovation...

I think at this point its called Streets blocked off soon to be demolished for other lands of America :P

Haha! Yes that is what it's called!

Love this!!!!!

Thanks!!

I find myself spending more and more time at the Poly these days, so I think booking a stay there is inevitable at some point! (I've even debated switching my Beach Club stay for October to the Poly, but Epcot... and Food & Wine... Nope, staying at BC!)

For food n wine...definitely BC, YC or Boardwalk is the way to go!!

WHAT! That makes so much sense, as I love them both!

I know right? Yum yum

Mmm, I can drink a gallon of that stuff. Love it.

you need to go to Hawaii! Or buy a case of the Hawaiian Sun POG. Transports you to the Poly/Boma in an instant, well not really, but somewhat close. Hehe

I appreciated it too, since I don't eat cantaloupe or honeydew! (I recall the pineapple being delicious, though!)

Yeah melons are boring but pineapple is great!

Unfff, all those delicious carbs... Yummm...

I was so excited when our food came!!!

This is a very good problem to have!

Yes, indeed. when they set down the second skillet I was more excited than the first!

Cute, yes... but admit it... The Mickey waffle tasted better, didn't it? (I'm partial to Mickey waffles...)

But of course...Mickey waffles are always better!

WHAT! This is adorable!

It was very nice of them to overfeed me that morning!

Oh hush, you look ADORABLE.

Haha, thanks!

Apparently I am the invisible girl!

You and me both, girl!

As I said...INVISIBLE

OMG HOW FUN!!!

They were so cute!

I'm so sad I missed this!

Don't worry, you will have the new Star Wars Fireworks and Frozen Ever After and all the stuff that I really really really want to see!!

Oh my goodness, your Ohana breakfast looked simply heavenly! And the character shots are adorable too :) We dined at Poly for this first time on a recent trip and went with Kona for breakfast -- had a monorail view, which was cool. We're definitely going to have to try Ohana next time -- looks like such a cool vibe there. Also, I love your Millennium Falcon dress... perfect for a DHS day!

Just a brief interruption from the TR...

You know, in the past few days after hearing the announcements about Frozen Ever After, the new Soarin' movie, and the new Star Wars Fireworks at DHS...all starting within the June 17-21 time frame. It really made me want to book a trip down to WDW. I really kick myself for not getting annual passes for our Feb/March trip because then I'd be down there in a heartbeat just for the weekend. We also don't have many vacation days left because we have some other trips planned for the year so we'd be left with no time off. I was really close to pulling the trigger on some park hoppers for that weekend in June, but then decided ultimately against it due to the short time frame and if we really wanted to go back maybe we'll do so in the fall when it's cheaper and less crowded. Although I was really almost to the point of pressing "Submit" on buying a package. But I refrained. I would have regretted it anyways because there aren't any FP+ left for Frozen Ever After on June 21 anyways! Whew.

In any case...we DO have another Disney vacation planned...to DISNEYLAND RESORT! I booked our flights and put a deposit on our package yesterday! We'll be in California from Sept 3-10 (labor day week) and in DLR from the night of the 5th to the 9th! We're staying in the Grand Californian for 3 nights, and then moving off to a good neighbor hotel in Anaheim for 1-2 more nights. The rest of the time we'll be hanging out with DH's parents who live in Riverside County CA. This trip was actually going to be a short trip to visit them, but then after hearing about Hyperspace mountain and stuff, we decided to go for a full week and tackle Disneyland! We haven't been there for about 8 years so it's about time we went back! I figure most schools start that week so the summer crowds should be (mostly) gone. I really really hope they continue Hyperspace Mountain past the labor day weekend. I've heard rumors that they were going to switch it out for the Halloween overlay but I'm really hoping they don't do that until at least the end of September. I need to ride it at least once!

Don't think I'll be doing a formal PTR for this, so thought I'd just use this TR. I don't really know much about the ins and outs of Disneyland. I barely remember the layout. When we used to visit it was always just for the day here and there. I do remember liking how DCA and DL were right next to each other. We've never watched World of Color or Paint the Night. We've never seen Carsland. Oh, and no magic bands? DH is THRILLED there is no FP+ though. He enjoys running and getting paper FP+ and riding all the big ticket rides multiple times a day. We've never eaten at any restaurant besides Ariel's Grotto once a long time ago. I definitely must eat at Blue Bayou though because I remember seeing it and thinking about how cool it looked. I am really looking forward to this trip! If any of you have any tips or recommendations (favorite meals, best location to watch the shows, etc) PLEASE let me know! I may be a veteran of WDW but when it comes to DLR I consider myself a noob!

Oh and here's a little throwback! These pics are from 2007, which was the year of a million dreams at Disney. We happened to get a little bit of pixie dust and got some free printed photopass pictures! We were there with my sister ChunkyTwin2 who happened to have some time off to visit California with us. Steve and I weren't even married yet! (I think this was before we got engaged too).

Can I just say I would kill to have a waistline like that again?? #dietfail #over40

I remember we waited almost an hour for this Little Mermaid submarine ride. Is this ride still around?

And fast-forward to 2008 when DH and I, now officially engaged, were planning our wedding in Southern California. We visited Disneyland during our planning trips.

Kona is wonderful too! We didn't eat there though on this trip. I didn't want to waste precious park time with another breakfast. Well, DH didn't, I didn't care either way. :) Thanks!

Thank you for sharing this is an amazing trip report! All the food looks delicious puts my lunch to shame!

Thank you for reading! I definitely put my own lunches to shame with what I ate on this trip. It was a gluttonous trip to say the least :)

This trip report is fantastic!!! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the Victoria & Alberts report! Eeeek!

Thank you very much!! V and A coming up tonight!

Loved the California pictures!! You look lovely in them, but you also look lovely in the 2016 pictures! You most definitely don't look like 40 now!

I miss some of the old DCA, I was there in 2005, but really did not have enough time to explore. And while all the new stuff is fantastic, I would have loved to experience the old more before it got lost in Yesterland...

How fun, Disneyland is awesome! It's my home park so here's some tips:

IMHO Napa Rosa has the best food of all the limited sit down restaurants. But, Carthay Circle Restaurant has the best decor and atmosphere. It's also fun to have an old fashion cocktail in their lounge. Blue Bayue is fun to do if you have never been, but way over priced. I'd also keep my food expectations low.

Hyperspace mountain is so fun! You'll need to head there first thing in the morning in order to get a fastpass (radiator springs racier too)

The best place to watch the fireworks is in the middle of Main Street. Not the hub, you want to be able to see the buildings. Wishes doesn't even compare to Disneyland Forever.

If you want to see paint the night it ends right before DF starts, so find a place on Main Street then move to the middle of the street after it passes.

World of Color viewing uses fast pass so you'll want to go to Grizzly River Rapids when you get in to DCA to get one for WOC. If you've never seen Fantasmic at Disneyland definatly check it out. It's so much better then HS's. There's usually a good less crowed place to watch it by the HM.

Have a fun trip!

So cool!!! We are going to Disneyland in November but the Disneyland boards just aren't the same as WDW!!!! I want to read trip reports but I can't find any that suit! At least I will be able to read yours!!!!!

Aww thank you...I just keep looking at those old pictures thinking about how much thinner I was! I think it was after I discovered the dining plan and then eating our way through all the WDW restaurants..I seem to gain 10 lbs each year. LOL

You know, I am thinking I will feel the same way. All my memories of DLR and DCA are from back then so I am probably in for some surprises when I visit again! I am enjoying your Cali trip report! So much fun and what great experiences you've had with the Club 33 and the private tour! Amazing!

OMG Thank you so much!! This will be great for our trip! I'm sooo excited now! I do remember seeing Fantasmic in DL...and thought it was amazing! That was actually my first Fantasmic show and I do feel it is superior to the one in DHS. I like how you don't have to get on line and into a theater. Is it still going on? I heard they paused fantasmic because of construction. I hope to see it again one day though.

By the way I just booked V&A and can't wait to hear about what you thought. Thanks for the great report!

Yay!! You will have an amazing time. It's a very classic fine dining experience. Thanks for reading! I'm writing it up right now.

Haha thanks! I was wondering about the DLR trip reports and so I was going to check out the boards later! Flossbolna has a great one going on right now. I am definitely going to try my best to write a TR for that trip because I'm sure I'll be in for a lot of surprises!
Thanks for reading!!
