Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

The buses to MK and AK stop at the YC first, right? How often do the buses fill up completely at the YC and drive past the BC? I'm not a big fan of waiting and was wondering if it is worth it to just walk from the BC to the YC to catch a bus. Is that necessary?

When we were there in August the AK bus was fine, but the MK bus filled at YC so completely skipped BC and we had a loooong wait for another one. Not sure how often it happens, but we decided that next trip we would just walk over and catch it at YC.

Someone wanted to know the brand of mattresses at the Beach Club. Someone there, maybe this week, was going to try and check, but if you happen to see a label, can you take note of the info or take a picture?
You can double check with Teena but I'm pretty sure that she told us that Serta made the mattresses for the BC. She said that CM's were able to buy them and she bought one.

I've only seen the buses fill up at the YC for the morning park hours. I've also seen an almost empty bus follow the full bus only minutes behind. Sometimes the buses are full, sometimes they aren't.

Also, we are arriving on April 1st. Our flight lands at 3:10 and we have FASTPASS reservations for Splash Mountain at 6:00. Are we going to be cutting it too close or is that OK?
If our flight lands at 9:30am then we are usually walking in the door of the BC by 11am. The bus ride to MK is 20 minutes. Add a half hour to check in and drop off your luggage and another twenty minutes to wait for the bus to arrive, another ten minutes to get in the gate and then at least ten minutes to walk to Splash Mountain and I would say that you would be fine. Your fastpass won't expire until 7pm. :)

So excited! Just booked our first stay at Yacht Club for April Spring Break! We will be five in a room (3 adults + 2 children). Do all the rooms with 2 Queens have a daybed? Not critical but would be great to be able to spread out. Also, we are garden view--any tips for room requests to be close to the "sand" pool? TIA!!

I only was in a standard room, but when I first arrived, they said here's your room number. I asked if it had a daybed, and they said no. I said that's not good, as I have a teen girl and boy, so no bed sharing. They found me a room with daybed.

If that's important to you, let them know you'd like a daybed room. If you don't get one, hopefully they have one available like they did for me.

Not all rooms at the resort have daybeds. As a group of 5 (if both children are over age 3), you must be given a room that has sleeping accommodations for all guests on the reservation. You will have priority for a room with a daybed (over a family of 4 who is just requesting one, for example). In the unlikely situation that the only rooms available when you check in do not have daybeds, then you will be given a room with a rollaway. But as LynneG suggests above, ask at checkin what the sleeping layout of your assigned room is, and if it doesn't have a daybed, ask if one is currently available, or will be available soon if you are willing to switch rooms.

Hi everyone!

I just booked our trip for Nov. 11-15, and I am excited...but at the same time, I'm having some reservations. I booked through with a TA who has "magical" deals, and they are truly amazing! I never thought we'd be able to stay at BC, but because of the price, we were like "let's go for it!" However, the rooms are all SV; no option to upgrade.

The second-guessing began when I started investigating what the view is like and seeing all the rooftops. Kinda puts a damper on things. Plus the weather is always up for grabs in November - could be perfect, could be cold, so SAB could be a non-factor. BUT, EPCOT is our family's favorite park and it would be so fantastic to be able to walk there!

Our other option/choice would be POR. We stayed there once before and really enjoyed it's relaxed atmosphere and the QS with so many options.

In talking it through with DH (who really has no preference), I said that if for no other reason, it will be great to stay at a different resort, right? And, ultimately we're not really there for the view from our room. So, any other reassuring thoughts would be great! :goodvibes Maybe some suggestions on how to request the best SV possible (even though room request is a LONG way off!)? I've started reading through this thread trying to glean as much knowledge as possible, and I think y'all have a great community! I've made it to somewhere in the 30s :D

Hi! Our favorite resort is also Epcot. We have stayed at all the Epcot resorts. While it's always nice to have a nice view, the view is way less important than the access to the World Showcase entrance! It makes it so easy to pop over there. We try to have dinner in a different country every night.

Also, for the folks with concerns on the bus to MK from BC or YC- we never take the bus to MK when staying at the Epcot resorts. We walk through Epcot to the monorail station and head over that way. Just another option....

But then you have to take another monorail to get to MK.

First stay at BCV in a number of years coming up in March. I think the last BC stay was around 2009, although not totally sure. Found a rental from March 11-14 for a studio a couple of weeks back. I had no plans for a trip, but Flower & Garden here we come! Also tacked on March 8-11 at The Dolphin.

Reassuring thought: best pool in all of WDW (hands down, no contest), so spend more time at the pool and less time in your room!

I always book standard view rooms because we just don't spend much time there. Our last time at Yacht Club, we did see some rooftops, but also a decent amount of green with the grass/trees around the walkways in between buildings. We really didn't mind it at all. In fact, we are going again next month and will have a standard view room again.

In my experience. Disney oversells the "Standard View" and many times you get a better view. Don't count on it, but it happens. I would rather have a roof top view and Yacht and Beach then a water view at a Moderate.

One can always hope, right?

Yes, that is what I'm trying to focus on - the incredible pool!! I tend to overthink and over analyze, but the truth is that I AM really excited to stay there! As a family of six, we could never justify staying on property before, but now that oldest DS will be headed to college in the fall, we can finally fit in one room! :woohoo:

.

We had a magical deal booked last August with a standard view and we ended up with a pool view. I assume they overbooked the category and we got the upgrade. We only had a Juliette balcony, but we wouldn't have spent much time out there, anyway.

We want to be close to Stormalong Bay as we plan to use it every afternoon on break from the parks. I was hoping they had an option for "Close to lobby." Would "Near elevator" be our best bet, or should I call to request Near Lobby? We booked a Standard View. Thanks!

Ooo, I'm curious about your TA with the magical deals! :) We're paying an insane amount of money to stay at the YC next month, and I'd love to see if she has any different deals. Can you share her name?
