Beach club villa reno updates?

I read on here that someone said the renovations were supposed to start on January 22. Just wondering if anyone has been and know if work has started yet. Thanks

According to the DVC News, DVC announced that the refurb began last week of January 17, 2016. Hopefully a member will post some photos soon.

Thank you. I'm going March 11 and was hoping to have an updated studio but no big deal if it's not. I remember when I went to Hilton head they had done the studios first , so I was thinking if they had started then probably the studios would be done

I spoke to Member Services this week and asked them for an update. Initially, they knew nothing. They actually told me there is no refurb scheduled for BCV. I find it difficult to believe that they know that little. Either way, I was very persistent. After a 30 minute phone call and being put on hold at least 5 times, I was finally told that a refurb was beginning this month and would be complete by mid summer. it should not be so difficult to get information about something you are part owner of.

They typically block off one wing of one floor at a time so various room sizes are done at once. HH is a little different with the outside room entrances, plus there are few studios.

IMO we often assume that Disney walks on water and that their employees are different than the employees in the rest of the world, they aren't.

Oo gotcha.. Thanks! Either way I don't think the rooms being redone should affect my trip. It says they don't start until 9 and my son is up at 7 and I plan to spend me time by the pools. Very rarely am i in the room

Just back from a 2 week stay at BCV. I talked to 3 friendly guys in hard hats on the elevator one day who were part of the refurb team. They said they'd started the refurb (a wing on the 5th floor). We didn't see any tell tale signs of work going on other than one elevator bring inoperable for the our entire stay. Our room was in another wing and on the 4th floor. So, it's begun anyway. Let's hope the end result isn't too generic, as is rumored.

We have a stay in a studio in April. I would love to see any pictures or updates about the reno as it goes along. Now that it has started, I at least have a chance of getting a refurbed studio.
