Post a Picture of Your Camping Setup at Other Campgrounds!!

Gdad - how did you get the photo of the stars without condensation forming on the camera lens? Maybe it's just the area I live in, but I have tried to do that a couple of times in the past (before digital), and always got condensation and foggy pictures. Great photos.

Gdad - Fantastic pictures! Love the "Stars and Moon".

Thanks!

It's 90 Minutes worth of 30 Second Exposures- Stacked with a free Startrails Program- I had more but the lens actually did fog up around 9pm and the rest were unusable. You can actually see where the fog started at the bottom of the wide streak that the moon made.

Good find Denise, thanks for locating this thread. Hey Pa, what's the information on that camping location you got there?

One of my favorite haunts, Promised Land State Park. has about 400 campsites and 12 cabins built by the CCC corp back in the 1930's.

Okay, here is a local spot just 5 miles down the road here in Mississippi. CoE property called Twitley Branch Campground. Located on Lake Okatibbee.

You'll notice my Mickey Lamp, this was the first camping trip that I took it on. I had not finished my milkcan base when this was taken.

This particular site is a group site that has its own private lakefront area

It has its own pavilion

This group site has 3 separate camping spots from left to right

Each camping spot has two power/water hookups, so technically you can have up to 6 campers here provided only three of them had slides. It was designed before campers were developed with slideouts.

The only downside to the campground is that it is located on a flood control lake and it is below the flood stage of the lake. This means that about once a year, usually in the spring, the campground can actually be underwater. This means no sewer hookups at the sites but it has a dump station on site. They maintain one main bath house with showers and laundry and several smaller restroom only facilities around the campground. It has two public beaches and primitive camping as well as two nice boat docks.

We stayed at Twiltley Branch Campground last year when we meet up with Tiggerdad and his family. It is a nice campground with pretty views.

It is for the most part "big rig" accessible.

Nice shady sites.

We camp at Promised Land State Park as well, we usually stay on Pickerel Point, just wish they got some swings down there for the kids. Nice little beach to swim from too.

This is our Mardi Gras set up in downtown Mobile AL. We are under the I-10 overpass at the dreaded Tunnel entrance. Not much to look at but with the 300 other campers it's always a party. Anyone in the area is welcome to stop by. We're here the whole month until after Fat Tuesday.

I have stayed out at Pickerel Point also, was searching for my campsite pictures from there, but not sure what I did with them. The full hook ups are nice, but prefer to stay in Lower Lake.
