Thought I would make a post about this as this has happened to be more than once lol

If you enjoy wearing brand name clothes then you can expect not to be allowed entry to the park

I visited Seaworld wearing the brand name FCUK (French Connection United Kingdom)

It was a plain white t-shirt with the brand 'FCUK it' on the front

Ok I know y'all be thinking that's an innocent looking t-shirt very clever! It's as almost it says some profanity but it doesn't so it's all ok! Only a dirty mind would read it wrong.

No no I was Wrong (lol ok I know your thinking well duh! LOOK at it think of the children! Well I was 13 myself at the time)

Anyway Seaworld refused me entry to the park because it looked rude to children but I said it doesn't say or display what you think and should a child really know the word your thinking? Nah they didn't buy my excuse so had no choice but to wear in inside out all day (I still love you Shamu)

Ok skip a few years ok I'm adult now so yeah off to Universal studios wearing my new Police 883 t-shirt I brought in Bank, t-shirt was black just displayed the brand name Police 883 I innocently walked to universal only to be approached by security who was really rude and said for me to leave, jokingly said why? Only to be told I am impersonating a police officer. Tried to explain it was a UK brand name not trying to impersonate anyone? Nope Leave the park now, so quick thinking I say hey why don't I just wear my t-shirt inside out ... No go home and change if you want entry to the park ... So rather than argue I walked away but lucky a small stall was there selling Captain America t-shirts so I risk buying one at $30 you know DONT wanna impersonate authority again so I try captain America who suspiciously to me looks like an authority figure... Ohh no problems now

On the plus side wearing universal brand t-shirt I got a lot recognition from captain America in marvel land which was nice

If you shop in the cheap shops at international drive avoid police/swat/fbi hats and tee's

Yes, it is quite well known that Disney and some of the other theme parks do not allow FCUK t-shirts or anything which displays the logo obviously. It is always worth considering what you are wearing and whether it might cause you problems when entering the parks. A useful reminder :thumbsup2

I have never hear of these rules !! we must have just been very lucky , Dh has a few police and f.c.u.k tops one of them has a naked lady from behind on dressed in a police hat the bag checker at epcot said he liked it

we never thought anything of it but will consider it in future thankyou

The small print / terms for all the tickets explain about logos etc. It's on the bits none of us read!

This!

I think even if people don't know the exact wording of the rules, no one (esp. on here and forums) ignores the fact that offensive materials are not allowed in the parks.

Can anyone here stand up, step forward and swear that the f.c.u.k. logo never made them think of its anagram ?
Ok, everyone remained seated in front of their screens, that about proves the point :p
Actually the human brain has the ability to automatically descramble words as long as the first and last letter are correctly placed.
we're also smart enough to understand that, if a logo has made us smile (no matter what blood alcohol level we were at :) ) then it may be be perceived in a way that we didn't mean to.

We may never have read the fine print. But we all know that, when something can be read wrong, it WILL be read wrong.

Try to be "creative" on this board and disguise a banned word by scrambling letters, and you'll soon realise moderators will show you the door (or at least the warning sign) and point you to the rules, faster than it takes to say that brand's acronym.

Does it really come as a surprise to anyone that the same applies at the theme parks ?

Had never considered it because I don't wear brand names much, and, even if I did, personally the French Connection logo isn't something I would ever wear. Unsurprised - it's a family theme park and there are lots of rules about "appropriate" clothing (some of which are enforced, some not).

I must also have that 'face' of a thug lol

But I can't complain at first I was like awh so unfair, but I learnt wearing their own brand clothing you get acknowledged more which cheered me up. it is common sense when you think about it and didn't realise it's in the terms and conditions but it's and easy innocent mistake to some and hopefully no one will go through the embrassment like I did haha

Well I have, I bought my son a penguin brand T-Shirt with their large logo upside down, the slogan underneath was 'flip the bird', I had no idea of it's meaning, well until I saw my son's shocked face when he opened it.

I've always wondered to this day what sort of Mother the Sales Assistant thought I was as I enthused at the check out about how funny it was!

Needless to say he hasn't got much wear out of it!

Had to Google, never heard that before :rotfl:

I have to say In my 30 odd trips I've never actually had a problem,
I do wear some named brands but generally my park clothes consists of plain strappy tops and shorts or disney Tees and dresses lol.

My oldest does tend to love zombie t-shirts and less then desirable werewolf tops that I have to kind of hide for universal days lol.
But we're normally pretty safe haha.

worth mentioning /, no fun to get singled out for what you are wearing.

IMO calling the original shirt "clever" is in the eye of the beholder in this case, many would call it juvenile. Fashion is often subjective lol.

If the designer tshirt has the word 'police' on it, especially when combined with any sort of logo, a child or person living out of the area with ELS - English as a Second language; could possibly (even if remotely) identify the wearer as a law enforcement official in the park.

I'm all for expressing one's self on a t-shirt but you are entering 'their house' at the parks and need to conform. Can't say i've ever read someone being prohibited from turning their shirt inside out. I have read more than few threads where somebody is booted for arguing a rule. I'd have likely walked away for ten minutes, turned the shirt inside out, and head back thru the gates...at the other end of point of original entry attempt point.

fyi - Many parks in our area forbid wearing of colors, both in the biker & gang sense, and enforce it diligently. I've always thought Universal, espeically IoA where people have the tendency to get wet on the water rides, was very accommodating.

i'm old so take this for what it is (something from an old person :) ) but I just don't get the fcuk thing. there was a man about 40 on our last dcl sailing and he was wearing it in cabanas. dh and I just could not stop scratching our head. regardless of what it might mean, and I didn't know till I read this thread, it definitely brings to mind that other word and you can not tell me that there weren't a bunch of ten year olds snickering at it. I saw some doing it. its just not necessary. seems very juvenal to me. there are sixteen million other shirts out there but you chose that one. why? shock factor?
i'm still scratching my head......I just don't get it.
