2016 Bounceback Offers

They are getting a double discount but from only one place. Orbitz will match Disney's general public discount and offer the same percentage off on their website. Then they will often run a special offer that is additional discount which you only receive if you use their promo code when booking the room. I was looking at Orbitz's website last night and saw some Wilderness Lodge rooms at a 25% discount, the same discount Disney is offering for that time period. Then if you use the promo code, they gave you an additional $150 off the reservation. That is what people mean by getting a double discount. :)
And if you are patient and wait for one of their promos without a cap you can save even more than $150

I decided to be patient and wait for a bigger discount. :) We got lucky for our Jan trip and got a bigger discount than the $150, so I'm going to try to get that again for the next trip.

:scared:Any idea when the current bb end? We are going in Feb and plan to return in November so I'm not liking that all of November is currently blacked out!

The current bounceback will be the bounceback offered until at least late July/early August when the next free dining bounceback offer comes out.

That is what I feared... shoot. Was really hoping for a great BB since we had two trips planned in the same year for once!

Thanks so much! Makes sense when you explain it. It's both fascinating and mental fatiguing to see how Disney works it's stranglehold over its prices. One has to become somewhat of a treasure hunter, now more than ever,to try to squeak out just a little bit more of a savings. Being a Florida resident, I'm grateful for the monthly payment option for our AP's, but now that's changed ( we went Gold). Then there's the money for the TIW card.... we've spent so much and haven't even been there yet this year! We do manage to get in two trips off each years AP,but we buy Target gift cards for the year to help take the edge off when it's time to pay. We always have to figure out how much time we need between visits to save enough so the next visit is mostly paid for. An extra 15% is more than welcome- great business sense on the part of Orbitz to offer even a little something.

Ok, change in plans. Going to stay at the Boardwalk instead of Poly, any advice?

Because the uncapped reservations are very few and far between lately, the other thing you can do is to book the reservations separately. e.g.: Night 1-3 $150 savings; Night 4-6 $150 savings, etc. Book as much as is necessary to max out (or almost max out) the discount. The other thing that's awesome is you can use the Orbucks from the first reservation on the second, and the Orbucks from the second reservation on the third, etc.

As long as you can book the same room category, you shouldn't have any trouble at all staying in the same room at the resort. (Just keep in mind they *might* make you move.) Best thing to do is to call the resort directly several days before your travel, ask them to connect you to the back office, and give them your reservation numbers and tell them it's a consecutive reservation and you'd like to stay in the same room. You will need to "check out-check in" at the desk on the morning the reservation ends and the new one begins, but that's painless and well worth the extra money saved.

Super silly question, but I've always booked through Disney. Do you just link the room reservation to MDE then buy tickets/dining separately?

Yes. It's super easy, at least with Orbitz it is. You get the confirmation number to link to MDE right at check out.
The biggest difference, and it can be killer for some, you pay in full at the time of booking. You can get a refund if you cancel just like with Disney but you do have to pay up front, which is different from Disney

Thanks for the info! We leave in a couple days and I'm going to book a bounce back, then wait for the general public discount to come out and see if orbitz beats my bounce back :)

I'm doing the exact same thing on our trip next month. I'm going back in April and will book a BB but keep my eyes open for either a GP/Orbtiz or AP discount that beats the BB. But at least I'll have something booked just in case neither are offered for our trip. Our dates are fixed around the Star Wars Race weekend

Does anyone know if I can apply the bounceback offer to an existing future reservation (pending availability on our dates/resort, of course) or will they only book it as a brand new reservation?

Sorry if this was asked & answered in here, I searched and couldn't find anything.

Sorry I don't know about Bounceback but I just modified an existing Disney Visa reservation (25% off) with a better Passholder offer (30% off) at BC. It took like 10 seconds and I have the same confirmation # with a lower remaining balance when I check in.

I presume that the same thing would happen if you modify a same-resort existing reservation with a Bounceback offer.

Good luck.

i just applied the current bounceback to an existing reservation, so you should be good. just needed the confirmation number, and it was easy & quick.
the only thing i was unprepared for is that you're limited to one bounceback offer- i was solo, so i don't know if it's one per person or one per room, but i have a couple of future trips planned, and might have adjusted my bounceback plans a little if i had known.

I just booked a free dining bounce back for POR when I was at Disney at the end of October. My problem is it wasn't really the month I wanted and they only had Riverview available, no standards left. I checked and riverview is $65 more dollars a night just for the view. If we go with a standard room in the month we wanted, without park hopper and pay for dining it would work out to under $200 more to go when we want if a room only discount comes out. My question is does a room only discount usually come out for November?

Is there any way to find out if a certain room type is available with a BB offer without currently being on property?

Considering a side trip to a resort for one night in order to book a BB for next December. Would only make the side trip if we can get the room for next December at a discount.

Thanks for any advice!

Ask someone there to call and check for you

I'm going to WDW next week and I'm planning on booking the bounceback offer for December 2016. However we really would like to go in March of 2017. Towards the end of 2016 will I be able to change my dates to March 2017 with the bounceback offer if the dates are available under the new bounceback offer and still be able to keep the discount???
