Is Memory Maker the same as the passholder entitlement?

Is the passholder photopass entitlement the same as memory maker. I was considering MM for this trip because of all the Christmas decor. I have an ap voucher. Just want to make sure I will get the same thing with the ap entitlement.

Following as well..

Notes...
-The website lists memory maker and AP photo pass entitlement separately..
-Also why didn't disney just say MM now included with your annual pass?
- Is there is a reason for calling 2 different things?

I have this same question. I noticed in a post Disney made today about MNSSHP, they specifically stated to get magic shots you had to have Memory Maker. Makes me wonder if those are included in the new AP Photopass entitlement.

When I cancelled my Memory Maker because of the AP Photopass entitlement I was told they are different. I'm still unclear to me what the difference is. I'm interested to find out from someone still using it.

I'm also curious if the AP entitlement will allow you to get the ride photos/videos from rides like 7DMT and download animated magic shots. The 7DMT photo/video is the only ride photo I've never had show up in my Photopass account, and I've never had Memory Maker before. I was considering it for my next trip, but if I can get that with my AP, no need

It depends on when you bought the voucher. If you bought the voucher before these new APs became available, then you wouldn't get the entitlement.

MM isn't the same as the AP PhotoPass download. Like wareagle57 said, the difference is how long you can use each for. With MM, once you download your first picture, you have 30 days to add more pictures, and pictures expire (meaning they're no longer available for download) 45 days after they're taken. With the AP download, you can take pictures and have them available for download for 365 days.

See above.

Could you post a link where it says that? You've never had to have Memory Maker to get the magic shots.

I don't know why you never had the 7DMT ride video show up in your PhotoPass account, because it's my understanding that only a Magic Band is necessary to get it, not having Memory Maker. I would assume that any ride pictures and videos would be available with the AP download.

Thanks for clarifying. I have read different reports about the AP voucher getting the pp entitlement. My voucher was bought in April but still not activated. Is there a way to upgrade to the new AP so that the pp entitlement is available. I imagine that would still be cheaper the purchasing MM

I have a Premier Passport AP (the one that works in WDW+DL) with the Photopass entitlement enabled. I was able to download all previously taken Photopass pictures AND my 7DMT video just fine.... I've never had Memory Maker before.

So far it looks like I can get everything Memory Maker can through the whole year.

A poster on the Passporter boards said he called the AP hotline and was told he could at Guest Relations at the parks.

Wow that's great news!

So when you got your new AP you were able to retrieve photos taken prior to the date you activated your new AP? I am curious because we will renew our AP's in the middle of our trip the end of this month and trying to figure all this out so that we can still get our photos from the beginning of our trip. . . . thanks!

I didn't get a new AP.

Premier Passport AP's were grandfathered into the Photopass entitlement when the new passes were announced/released the other day, so there was no need for me to pay an "upgrade" cost to unlock it like other passes do.

But yes, I was allowed access to ALL previous photos from before the upgrade.

I have a voucher for a PAP. I called guest services yesterday and they told me when I activate the voucher it will be activated as a platinum plus with photo privileges. Basically saving me $169. Does that sound right to you guys?

Will the AP work the same way as Memory Maker FOR ALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY people linked into my MDE account? For instance, friends going the week after us having their photos show up in my account so we can do a "share"? It would then be cheaper to upgrade one person's AP than to purchase MM separately. But I would only do it if it will for sure work for all people who are in my friends and family list.

I'd like to know this, too. I was intending on upgrading just my AP in November so I could get photos for our Nov. and June trips, but I wonder if it only works with a MagicBand that is linked to the AP with the PhotoPass entitlement. We'd more than likely be taking all photos together, but 1) it's possible that we would be separated and 2) if we are together, do I have to make sure they always scan MY band?
