Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I was reading about limits to your MB charges. It was something where after a certain dollar amount was charged to your room, they had to charge your credit card. And then if you reached your cap and they hadn't charged your CC, they might not let you use your band for payment. I know it was different amounts per resort level (values were lower, deluxe were higher). But does anyone know if CL are different?

I'm just worried because we are handling all payments for the family. We have 7 of us total and plenty of TS meals. I'm sure its going to add up quickly. I don't want to be inconvenienced or embarrassed if our MB doesn't work. If we know the total, we can keep an eye on it.

It works the same for all room types. Once you hit the charging limit ($500 values; $1,000 mods; $1,500 deluxes), your cc is charged and it starts all over again. I have read reports of people being declined for purchases as they were close to/at the charging limit, but their cc had not yet been charged (although I'm not sure how often that happens). With that said, you can request a print out of charges any time and if you are close to the limit or just want to pay everything up to date, you can do that by authorizing them to charge your cc, pay with cash/gift cards, etc.

Actually they raised this. At least the Deluxe limit is raised. It was $2000 in August

Yes!!! Thank you for remembering! Now I do remember that mine was $2000 in August! :D

We are doing our first club level stay at the Poly from 5-13 Dec and have a question. What are the chances to get an upgrade from a standard view CL room and do you have a room recommendation for a standard view at CL? I have gone back through a few threads and know this question has been asked before, so I apologize in advance :)

We would like a balcony if possible and that is only 1st and 3rd floors, is that correct?

:) Erik
We stayed CL Poly the week before Thanksgiving - the CL staff told us the place was pretty much empty until the Mon before Thanksgiving - it was our anniversary and booked a standard CL room, top floor view of the then quiet pool with a balcony. They didnt upgrade us even though rooms were available but they did give us the top floor like I requested

Thanks to more free dining the days of empty resorts are gone! I have been struggling big time trying to find any rooms anywhere! :scared:

They would only stop your charging privileges if they couldn't charge your credit card. Otherwise, as long as you have a valid card on file you shouldn't have to worry about a stop being placed on your MBs.

It's good to know the charging limit has been raised to $2,000. I didn't know that, although I've never gotten close it it yet. But I have had my MB blocked from charging when Disney applied my expired credit card to my room balance instead of the renewed card that I had used for online check in.

Can you swing a lagoon view? It's on the other side of the building where the construction is done. If on 1st floor, you'll have a patio and be able to walk out onto the beach (the bungalows are in the water now obstructing the view, but we personally don't mind that....). If on 2nd floor, you won't have a balcony but you'll be on the same floor as the food (some people like this, but we don't like this floor as we love a patio/balcony...). If on the 3rd floor, you'll have a nice balcony and fabulous view (you can see the Castle over the bungalows).

If on the 1st or 3rd floors, it's an easy walk up or down the stairs to the 2nd floor food.

We love the Poly CL. The building is right next to the pool and it's so convenient to go back and forth on a pool day. The views from the lounge (and your room if on that side) are amazing.

I'm not sure if we could swing the Lagoon View, the trip is already at over $8000(not including flights). I just wanted CL this time because I will be celebrating 5 years Cancer Free!

It is true that 2nd floor rooms don't have a balcony, so you would have to request 1st floor for a patio or 3rd floor for a balcony.

From what I understand, the quiet pool was scheduled to be done by spring, but construction started 1-2 months later than expected, so that could delay completion.

Thanks for the info. It looks like in pictures that they have 2nd floor balconies, so that's why I asked. I think a Patio would be fun, but not sure if I would like people gawking as they walk by. LOL

You're welcome :). Some pictures are a little deceiving as the second floor rooms have a railing right up against (or very near) the sliding door, so it does look like a balcony. LOL about the patio and people walking by.

You have a great reason to celebrate, I hope you have a very magical trip! :wizard:

Hi all! I have the opportunity to book a CR CL in a 14th floor room. I am currently booked at the Poly. Apparently there are only 3 rooms in this level. Should I switch resorts? WWYD? Apparently you can't book TPV at this level. Does anyone know how many are TPV and how many rooms are BLV?

The Poly is great but will have some construction in Jan. There is also the risk that we won't get a balcony (we are booked TPV, CL). The CR atrium guarantees a balcony. However, I have only stayed on the 12th floor club level before. Is the 14th floor as nice as nice as the 12th?

This is a discounted room, so it might not be there for long. The CR is about $100 less than the Poly, so the rate is very much the same. Please help me decide... I have never stayed on the 14th floor at the CR so it is very tempting! However, I have been waiting for the Poly to finish its renovations for what seems like FOREVER and I am dying to stay there again.

What a wonderful dilemma! LOL!

What a wonderful dilemma indeed!

Having had two incredible stays on the 14th floor at the CR, and one not so great stay at the Poly CL, I'm going to be totally biased. While I'm not sure of the room ratio (# of TPV vs. # of BLV), and having stayed in a BLV room last year and TPV this past August, I don't think you could honestly go wrong with either, IMHO. The lounge on the 14th floor is small but it was never crowded, the food offerings were fantastic and the view of the castle from the balcony there is amazing. Of course, having your own balcony with a TPV is equally so but having stayed in both categories, I didn't find one view to be any better than the other...we enjoyed both equally.

Also, in all of our CL stays, I'd have to say that hands down, the CM's on the 14th floor at CR were by far the most helpful and personable!

Good Luck with your decision!!

Others have told you the total. We stayed at AoA in June, our limit was $1000. I know this because I upgraded 3 tickets to APs as soon as we entered our first park. I charged this to magic band/room. This cost $980 or so. I then tried to buy TiW and it wouldn't let me do it on the magic band. It appeared to reset every night, but just an FYI, it will stop you at that limit until the system charges your card and starts you over (even if your credit card has a much higher limit)

Thanks for the information on the charging limits. I hate having to worry about it. Hopefully, it will just go through when we get close. We won't have a problem with credit limits on the card, just with the hotel limits.

www.tikimanpages.com will have the info you are looking for. I have stayed 4 times cl at poly. 2 each side. Both of my gv rooms were 3rd floor. The view is of the quiet pool and walkways etc. Nothing fancy but is relaxing. I love the views from the lounge so I just hang out there when i want a "view".

The question is: is it a king room you have the chance to book at CR 14th floor? If so, it's a guaranteed TPV because there are only two of those rooms total. If it's a double queen room, there is one TPV and I think 2 BLV. We're headed to CR in late October and will be staying in the king room on the 14th floor, so my answer to your dilemma will definitely be a bit biased for sure! 14th floor is where all the suites are, so you'll have far less people sharing the floor and lounge with you and more personalized service than on the 12th floor. Plus the rooms have a completely different, newly-updated look to them, not to mention the gigantic balconies that are like twice the size of those on the other floors at CR!

If I had to do the booking all over again for this trip and had the choice between CR and the Polynesian, I'd still pick CR. Seems everything I've read about the Polynesian lately has been very negative, from inattentive housekeeping to constant construction to crowds to the jam-packed pool area to less-than-stellar experiences with CL there. We were considering maybe booking a suite at the Polynesian with a bounceback during our upcoming stay, but we've decided against it for sure now after everything I've read.

I agree that the CL in the CR is amazing! I have stayed in the atrium CL and it was awesome, but I expect that Tower CL will be even nicer!

Thank you for sharing your experiences! It was very helpful for me while deciding which resort to choose! We have decided to switch to the CR!! I am SO EXCITED!!!!!

No, unfortunately, it isn't one of the two king rooms, but one of the three queen rooms that we have the opportunity to book. We have requested the TPV but I realize that we may or may not be lucky enough to score that coveted view. If we do not, we will simply have to console ourselves in the lounge with the TPV there, while sipping on a beverage. Poor us!! LOL! Either way, i am sure that we will love the tower CL!

Wow, the balconies at the CR are all very nice, even just in the tower. I can hardly imagine how nice the larger ones must be!

Thank you for all your helpful information. This is so exciting!

I have stayed in the atrium club 3 times. I would love to try the tower club some day :)

Congrats!

This happened on our last trip at BBB. We tried to charge to our room and our limit had been reached. The CM's at BBB called the WL and they charged my credit card right then so my charging ability was reinstated immediately.

We have a stay coming up in the atrium club level at the Contemporary. Does anyone have a menu of the appetizers?
Also is there oatmeal offered in the morning?

Strange happening yesterday.
I emailed BC IPO jut to touch base with them.
I got an email back about how we are one of the first guests to try out the brand new My Magic + and use the brand new Magic Band option
No where did it ask for details about our arrival, ask if we wanted help with ADR, etc.
Is that an old form letter or is that all they send out now?
