Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

What were your quotes if I may ask? I emailed my agent but haven't gotten an email yet.

I was able to 'reserve' 5 nights at the BC (std view) in June for $1,500, taxes inclusive. They also had the Poly (std view) for $1,700 for the same nights. As a comparison, right now I have a YC garden view reserved through Disney for those nights for $2,000.

Officially the bookings can't be made yet, but the prices are there. They took all of my info and the agent will make the booking later this week when it is bookable.

I have never used this agency before, but I can't complain about their service or the price. The only real negative is that it is considered a package (even though I am only booking a room) so payment must be made in full 45 days in advance, but that's a minor consideration for us.

Just under 40% off rack rate, for dates in both Feb. and July.

ETA - that's standard view. CL was 33%

Discounts for July 2016 have already been announced?? I don't see them anywhere.... and didn't expect to see them until around March of next year..

Ok thanks did they have any moderates available?

What dates did you use to get quotes? I did get a quote for 6 nights June 15-21 but mine seemed higher Poly was $2112.00 and BC was $1803.00 both standard view, without any tickets. I did have her add for over the weekend. I wonder if the rates are higher on the weekend. I know with the labor day deal the price didn't change on weekends.

Sorry that I am slow about the 2016 offers. Did these come from Disney (Disney Destinations) or from a TA?

I'm a bit confused. My Travel Agent told me she doesn't have a clue about summer 2016 rates until next Spring. And I doubt Disney has even decided their discounts that far in advance yet.
The agency we use has exclusive offers available to only their TAs. Those are the rates we are discussing. Disney has not released any promos to the public beyond the spring 2016 offers that are available now. I suspect your TA does not offer agency exclusive deals?

I emailed my agent but haven't heard back yet. Can you tell me the dates for June that are offered and the resorts?

Ahh, ok...... Well, guess not agency exclusive deals for our dates at least. Thanks for the explanation.

We are checking in to the YC on Sunday. We have a garden view room. What is a good location to request? How long are the hallways? Also, is there a lot of wear and tear showing at the YC?

I've been MIA for awhile (Leakycon 2016 tix went on sale recently so I've been trying to keep up with who is going) so I am just catching up. To reply to some specific questions:

Bell services has a fridge which has a freezer. They need it because people have groceries delivered before they check in. I would assume that you could ask them about keeping your medication in the freezer.

About room requests for DVC villas: it depends on how you booked.

If you are a member who is using your own points to pay for your stay: you would call Member Services to make a room request.

If you are using someone else's points to pay for your stay: that member would have to call member services to make a room request. This would apply if you are renting points. It also would apply, for example, if I let a friend use my points for free - I, as the member who owns the points being used for the trip, would have to call member services to make the room request.

If you make your reservation directly through Disney, either online or by calling the same phone number you would call to make a reservation for a regular Disney hotel room, then you would call the Disney reservation number to make a room request. This would be a cash resie; DVC points would not be involved even though you will be staying in a DVC villa.

I am referring to a request made in advance, not a request made as part of the online check in process.

Hope that helps.

We've stayed near the wedding gazebo and had rooms that were in really good shape. We like to request a room near the elevator. Those rooms are very convenient for everything, buses, boats, restaurants, etc. :)

We are arriving at the Beach Club on Friday and I am using Touring Plans so I will let you know if I got my request! They send the request with the wording "Bldg 1,Flr 4,NW-facing room.Exmple:4583,4585,4581,4579,4577,4575,4573,4571,4567"

How does this work? I subscribed to Touring Plans; but my reservations have been made with a travel agent. Does TP send the fax? I have never used them before.
