"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

I shall do that I'm calling it quits for the night. We have bags full of candy. I'll figure it out by Friday. I got some shots from the fantasyland to tomorrow land area on my phone that aren't bad of the fireworks.
It can be fun to watch the fireworks from non-traditional locations in the park. My first MNSSHP in 2012 I didn't allow myself enough time to get in front of the castle and wound up watching from Fantasyland beside the carousel. It was actually pretty awesome being in the center of the action. Last trip I was walking from Big Thunder toward Fantasyland during the fireworks. I missed the finale on that one because I desperately had to make use of Rapunzel's facilities!
:hmghost:

Oh, it's not a hoarder. It's probably one of those re-sale sites. There's a few that have gained some "fame" recently. One of them got flamed by someone on a different board and their FB page by an upset guest. They always say that they're "within their legal limit". Even if it means they drop a few grand on their "limit" of merchandise.
They should have limited it to two per guest like they do with the Vera Bradley bags, etc.

Went to the party tonight. Shocked how busy it was (haven't read posts in a few days). I know it was sold out. Hardly got to do anything. Watched first parade in frontierland. Caught last parade in the middle of town square, 1st row. DH and I were so miserable (just being honest) we went to Guest Services and got refunds for the 9/18 party and 9/18 dessert party. I have absolutely no desire to deal with this again.

And I know people have been saying a sold out party night is still lower crowds than a low crowd day... I beg to differ. We were all over the park multiple times and it was mobbed EVERYWHERE at all different times.

Also heard stories from a few fellow guests about how ugly things got with the party merchandise. People shoving others out of the way and yelling.

Ok here are the positive changes. Having the parade later stunk for a bunch of reasons however, a lot of people musht have followed the parade out. They had both the monarail and the ferry running. We left the back of fantasy land at 12 and we were at the car at 12:19. Much faster than Sunday night after a regular 10pm closing. Not getting out of the parking lot has been an unexpected mess. Close to 30 minutes in traffic leaving the parking lot.

Just got back from first party. Here is my report:
  1. Lot more people than I was expecting but was not terrible.
  2. They were selling all merchandise starting at 4 (had to show your wristband).
  3. From 4 to 7, we used our fast passes for buzz (standby was 10 minutes), peter pan (standby was 45), and haunted mansion (standby was 25). Also from 4 to 7 we waited 10 minutes for Pooh. We also ate quick service meal.
  4. 7 to 8 we waited 10 minutes for carpets of alladin and were able to walk on journey to little mermaid.
  5. We walked up for the 8:35 parade around 8:10 and were able to sit on the wooden porch edge in frontierland. 2 rows of people in front of us.
  6. Then walked over to the FP area around the hub and sat and watched celebrate the magic and hallowishes fireworks.
  7. After fireworks, we walked over to get our magic shot in front of haunted mansion. Wait 5 minutes. Also got pictures of Madame Leota sitting out front of the mansion. Saw there was no line for candy at tom sawyer island launch so got some candy (went thru line 2 times since this was the only candy were getting).
  8. Then walked to in front of the castle where the parade turns and watch hocus pocus show. Stood there so we could stay in same spot the second parade. We were against the rope for the parade. 2 rows of people behind us when the parade started.
  9. After second parade was able to get another photopass shot in front of castle in hub with no wait.
Other notes:
Line for Jack and Sally was really long (Saw someone asked if there were photographer: there is with every character meet).
I loved the fireworks, the parade, and the hocus pocus show. Thought they were all great. In the hocus pocus show, villains come out (can remember oogie boogie, jafar, cruella da vil, maleficent, hades). The show includes projections on the castle and few fireworks.

OK, rookie question. This will be our first MNSSHP and I am online ready to purchase tickets for Sept 27.
One question - the Disney website states:
" Please note: Theme park admission is not included in the event price"

Does that mean that I need to buy Park admission PLUS pay for the "after party"?
We were just planning on staying at the hotel pool till about 5PM then go to the park.

Just got back from the party and it was busy but I didn't find it unmanageable by any means. Got to MK at 4.30pm and walked straight into Starbucks with no line :worship:. It was raining so there were a lot of people heading out. Went straight to Peter Pan for my first FP then hit IASW (walk on), Philharmagic (walk on), Winnie the pooh (10 minutes), Ariel's Grotto (5 minutes), Little Mermaid (walk on), Space Mountain (10 mins), Buzz (5 mins), tomorrowland candy trail (5 mins), got a spot in Frontierland for the parade at 7.50 (sat on the floor by a bin), candy trail by BTMRR (walk on), BTMRR (5 mins), Splash (walk on), Frontierland candy trail (walk on), HM (walk on), HM photo op (5 mins), candy trail FL (2 mins), Gaston's Tavern for a drink (5 mins), FL candy trail at back of 7DMT (walk on), Storybrook candy trail (5 mins), Storybrook-Tomorrowland candy trail (walk through), tomorrowland candy trail (2 mins), adventure land candy trail (walk on), BTMRR (walk on), Splash (walk on), Frontierland candy trail (walk on), slow walk to the exit just after midnight, wait for the bus back to ASMvs (10 mins).

Skipped the show and the fireworks because I knew they would be rammed and I'm going again on the 20th so I think that will be better for seeing them

Should I consider buying the special magic band from a seller such as your wdwstore
I'm fearful of them being sf out by October 27th

The hag from Snow White is near the Halls of Presidents. Line had about 15 people at 11:55. Snow White had a separate line very close to the Dwarfs. Aurora meets near City Hall where Jack and Sally used to meet. Magic shots at Splah Mountain exit (I don't see the ghosts in my photos yet). I went trick or treat at 11:53 at the Splash Moutain trail but only got 11 pieces of candy. Won't be 1 of those people flying home with suitcases full of candy. Got a 5:20 FP+ for Mine Train but ride was down. Came back 2 more times later and was told that ride was down again. Was told to come back later. No FP+ offered.

There were still a lot of people for the last Hocus Pocus show at 12. After the show, many were lining up for photos with the castle and the pumpkin decorations (both had Photopass photographers)

Yes, you will need to purchase two separate tickets, the regular park ticket & the MNSSHP ticket. Keep in mind that you'll only be able to stay in the Magic Kingdom till close to 7pm cause the Party starts at that time. What you can do is purchase a MNSSHP ticket alone because you can get in for the Party as early as 4pm. So if you have the time and energy, you can go on some rides, shopping, etc before the actual party starts then from 7pm till the end of the night, you're enjoying the Party. :)

Yes, that's what I want to do. Just go to the Party - maybe arrive a little early to jump on a ride or two. Only the MNSSHP ticket is needed right?

Yep yep, you'll need to buy the MNSSHP tickets and you'll be able to get into the MK for the party as early as 4pm.

If all you are wanting to do is go to mnsshp, you do not need a separate park admission ticket, just a party ticket. The other poster was initially incorrect when they told you that you did. Just wanted to clarify for you in case of confusion.

That stinks for you guys. Hope you do something else on the 18th that you love.

So the dessert party is not at tomorrowland terrace, but in the fake grass viewing area?

No, it IS at tomorrowland terrace.

I read the OP's post as: Can you stand/sit in the PARADE FP+ area, rather than the WISHES FP+ area.

The Wishes FP+ area, as far as I know, is fair game.

I blame my lack of coffee before posting. I should know better. ;)
