Yes. I saw that. Are these two trips and some swag the only compensation?
Thanks!
As far as I know, yes.

The very biggest bit of compensation you will receive is actually being a part of the magic by assisting Guests with planning a most magical Disney Parks vacation based on your own experiences!Yes. I saw that. Are these two trips and some swag the only compensation?

Now that Round 1 is over you can all take a deep breath and participate in what I thought was the greatest part of the application process... getting to know your fellow applicants for the next month or so. Just think for a second how much you already have in common with your fellow applicants.
Forget rewards trips... forget the swag... through the process of making the Panel I met my 16 best friends. We talk everyday. Most days we talk all day long. We talk about our lives, we talk about our kids, we talk about our favorite sports teams, we vent our problems to each other in a judgment-free zone and, most importantly, we talk about our combined love of all that is Disney, the Parks, the movies, the news stories, etc.
I hope each of you takes this opportunity to really get to know the amazing people applying for the Panel!
Did anyone else remember reading that they would notify those who advance to Round 2 in late September/early October? That seems like a shorter time frame than people mentioned in past years.
So here is my totally NOT scientific, completely made up breakdown estimate of how long it would take them to review 10,000 applications (because what else are we going to all be thinking about for the next few weeks ).
5 minutes per application/60 min. in an hour = 12 applications per hour.
12 applications per hour/8-hour work day = 96 applications per day. Let's round that up to 100.
100 applications per day/5-day work week = 500 applications per week.
So one person can review 500 applications per week. Let's say there is a team of 5.
It would take 5 people (2,500 applications total per week) four weeks to review 10,000.
Again, this is totally a guess from me (and doesn't account for things like, oh, lunch, or any other work obligations).
As all of you can see, I'm not thinking about the Moms Panel at all... nope...
