ok.. as you might have gathered, there was a lot of stuff that went on that I did not mention during the trip. Now that the trip is over, I can relate some of them, just, hopefully to make you laugh, roll your eyes, or be grateful you did not have to deal with her.
They were late for EVERYTHING, including reservations, and meeting up with the tour guide.
The thing that was angering me the most was the fact that she was the one who told me they could only go for a very very short amount of time, so I booked the tour guide to maximize the time in the parks. Then she complained they did not have time to shop or walk slowly around epcot, while we were paying over $300 an hour for a tour guide to take everyone on rides....then it was too rainy, too sunny, too hot, too cold, too crowded, too quiet. We had credits left over from dining, so of course 'the dining package was a waste of money'...We would have been fine if they were not always so late...
She tried to tell us that certain people (my dad) did not want to ride test track, when it was a running joke my dad always wanted to ride TT, but every time it was shut down due to rain....!!! She never asked him, she just spouts out whatever comes in her head at that second. She told us people were sick when they were not, people were tired when they were so excited. She tried to say her kids did not want to see or do something when she had no idea what it was we wanted them to see or do. The parks were open too long or not long enough. She argued, complained and tried to take control of every single situation. Every time the kids touched anything (they are 9-17) she slathered everyone with hand sanitizer and she interrogated each person on what they touched.
Based on her animosity on anything Disney, I did not try to do matching Tshirts or anything like that...she decided to use fabric paint and make her own...and...HEY! that shocked me! I was actually pleasantly surprised she would do this! I even thanked her! The men's shirts were cute! ...but for the women, instead of leaving the shirts alone she CUT THEM UP making them look like something out of a rejected 80's beach movie! Her 15 year old daughter refused to wear it. I refused too. It might look 'cute' on a 9 year old, but on a busty adult, it looked...trashy. (she cut the collar out, and shredded the shirts to ribbons and then 'tied' the cut pieces back together.)
Okay, that is out of my system...the trip ended...I hope my dad had a good time...I really do. He wants to come down with just my hubby and I on our next Disney Trip...and the kids do, too. I guess we did it right.
I respect you for your patience with SIL and completing the trip. So glad next time it sounds like your Dad has it figured out for proper traveling companions!
