I took this video of how to work the new safes in the rooms:

I have no clue. I wonder if that's what they are calling the pool activities now? I know that we've been there before and the CMs were playing games with the kids in the courtyard and then there's the movies at night.

Let me see if some of my travel agent friends know and I'll report back.

You are the best!

Our two, possible three, resort nights are all three of my kids favorite movies! I feel like I'm going to really be utilizing the activities at the resorts this go round.

Lisa, need your expert advise here.... We are booked at CBR for mid sept. The baby will be 7 months old at the time is getting to and from the parks on the bus going to be a hassle or should I jump ship to the GF? Just worrying that staying at a resort as large as CBR will not be convenient with a baby. Appreciate ANY help you can provide! Teresa

Teresa, We haven't traveled with a seven month old while staying at the CBR but we did travel with a toddler who required a stroller, diaper bag, snacks, etc. They had no issues getting around the resort, traveling on the buses, etc. The ride to Hollywood Studios took 11 minutes from the time we sat down on the bus, made the resort loop and pulled into the park. Epcot was just 10. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom took longer but they weren't super long. We have found that most guests are kind and will give up their seats for parents with small children.

As far as getting around the resort, I don't think that it would be a big deal, especially if you have a carrier or a stroller. Even with the bridge closure, the walk around the resort promenade is not terribly bad. The whole promenade is not much over a mile and it loops around the entire resort. Bus stops are in every village and are easy to get to. Old Port Royale is approximately in the middle of the promenade.

Having said all of that, I'm sure that the GF would be more convenient as far as going to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot but you are still going to have to take a bus to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom and contend with the buses. Whiel I'd love to stay at the GF, I would rather spend the extra money on souvenirs or several nice meals.

I know you asked @mickeystoontown this, but wanted to throw my $.02 in. One trip we had 6 month old twins in our group and the next one we had the now 18 month old twins and a 4 month old in our group. Both trips we made daily swim/nap breaks and had no issues. Every village has its own bus stop so you are never far from one no matter where your room is. The buses themselves were very quick and efficient so we never felt like we were missing out on anything.

Now is it as convenient as jumping on the monorail at MK and going to GF, no it's not. But nobody in our group felt like it was a pain heading back to CBR either. Plus CBR is sooo close to Epcot, DHS and the water parks.

A walk through the island. Sorry that there's quick movement towards the end but there were people trying to walk around me and I was trying to keep them out of the video.

Thank you Lisa! I knew I could count on you for an honest answer! Believe me, I don't want to fork out the extra cash to stay at the GF! I haven't stayed at CBR since 2001. We were in Trinidad North and the location to Old Port Royale wasn't too bad. Since the bridge is out, I requested to stay in either Martinique or Barbados. Were they good choices do you think? Also need ground floor since the buildings don't have elevators. Really don't want to tackle the steps with an infant and a stroller along with the rest of his gear. We are arriving using magical express, is there someone that will help us from the custom house to our room from there with all our bags?

Thank you so much for the feedback. I am feeling better about staying here now.

You can stop at Bell Services just outside of the Custom House and make arrangements for them to help you take your things to your room. They will load you and your things in a van and drive you over.

We've stayed in Barbados before and I liked the location. It was nice and quiet (not like the other locations aren't/weren't) but it seems a little bit more off the beaten path.

Have you already put in a request for ground floor? If not, I'd call and ask them to make the notation. They'll do their best to accommodate you.

If your "extra day" is your last day (that's how it reads to me) then i would just let bell services handle the luggage. Drop them off before you head to the park and then don't worry about getting to CSR till much much later! They can't deliver your bags till your in your room anyway (only ME does this) so you can either get them yourself from bell services or call when you get to your room. You should be good to go! Have a blast
Ah, thank you!

Perfect! Thank you! Yes I noted that I needed ground floor when I made the initial reservation than choose that as one of my requests when I did online check in.

Walked to our bus this morning and saw a Sprinter van for the "shuttle" due to the bridge closure. After leaving the parking circle in Jamaica 44,45,46 it went in front of the Jamaica bus stop to the parking circle in front of 41, 42, 43. The cast members are working hard and trying to accommodate everyone.

Goose lax - is the bridge to the island from the other side also closed or can you still access Caribbean Cay?

Really enjoyed your recent posts, very informative. Makes me want the next 8 months to fly!!

What is the fax number for CBR? It keeps ringing and ringing.

The only resorts I know for sure read faxed requests are POR and POFQ. Calling the main reservations line and adding room requests to your reservation is still the best way to go.
