Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

You guys are not going to believe this!

Last night we were at BC for DD's Sweet 16 photo shoot. DH said he really missed the EPCOT side so went in to see if we could switch. Both sides said no openings. So he switched us to BWI. FAST FORWARD TIL TODAY. We just didn't get that warm, fuzzy feeling her so we walked over again to beg for a room

Long story short- we are checking into a YC WV room tomorrow until Aug 31!

See you all real soon!!!!

I'm sorry...one last question on FP+...scheduling tonight at midnight...when I click the FastPass link it only shows my husband listed...not my daughter or myself. Is this normal? I just called Disney and the CM said that we would "pop up" at midnight...? Is that true? Just trying to make sure I have everything set correctly to log in at midnight.

Just found this (BELOW)...I guess this is what is happening with my account? Although I will say that I can see my daughter and I in the "reservations and tickets" under MDX...just not when I click the FastPass.

For onsite guests with a room/ticket package, the 60-day prebooking window will not appear until the 60-day mark. Before this point, it is common for various members and/or their tickets to not appear on the MDX account. The entire traveling party and their tickets will appear at the 60-day mark in almost all cases. It is generally not possible to practice booking FP+s beforehand in this situation.

That's what I experienced. I didn't see anything until 12:01.

Hooray!!

Checking in from the Traverse my SAB buddies, I should reach la casa de Pas around 9pm tonight. I wanted to give my overall review of Beach Club.

Checking in: initially I was underwhelmed as they were doing paving in the self park and it was starting to rain. Walking toward the entrance I spotted a snake in the grass by BCV so I screamed like a weirdo. Also we saw turtles and a small alligator in the water by the entrance as well. Yes I am a wimp, my DD8 wanted to pet it lol. I'm fine with the ducks and turtles thank you very much. I will say it's cool to see the wildlife though.image.jpg The lobby was busy, and I went to the front desk since I didn't trust our MBs to be set up correctly. They called a runner to bring us up to the 5th floor. We were given our welcome champagne in the lounge and escorted to our rooms which were ready, 5719 & 5721 both had full balconies and a gorgeous pool view. Paul took our MBs which were not working and fixed all the check in info which strangely disappeared from the system. All was now good.

Rooms: very nice and light. The bathroom door is hard to close with the toilet there, however no one ever closes a door in our family..the beds were so comfy!

Location: I underestimated how perfect BC is for Epcot!! Loved the walk! First thing I did was activate our APs and get our DAS for the parks. Then I got some fish and chips :)

The resort: SAB is like having 5 different pools. It rained every afternoon so we didn't get as much swimming in as we liked. This was our first trip that we had rain like this, we've been spoiled in the past. This is by far WDWs best pool, we didn't have issues getting a chair and we only used one for the seven of us. Mostly to hold our stuff, but finding a chair in the shade would've been doable (just not multiple chairs). I loved the noodles and tubes which were always plentiful. My kids even enjoyed the kiddie pool on the pirate ship.

Food: we ate at both Captains Grille and Cape May Cafe for breakfast and dinner. I would recommend Captains Grille breakfast most definitely. Unfortunately there was no AC the night of our Cape May dinner so as tasty as it was we were too hot to eat. Hurricane Hanna's was always a madhouse but the food was decent. Most of our meals were quick service in the parks.

Mousekeeping: awesome! I must have a years supply of my favorite sea salt H2O toiletries. And I loved the turndown chocolates! I love chocolate period :)

Club level: offerings were plentiful and the staff was great. DH and I drank our weight in beer and wine, I never had an empty glass. The desserts were the best. We were always able to find a seat and the ease of giving the kids breakfast made it worthwhile. I doubt my DH will ever go without CL again. This is a big deal, he's a WDW cheapskate ;)

I was fortunate to meet our Teena and give her a big hug. For those who went to the agency dessert party those were my girls and my TAs DDs running up and down the stairs inside. I let them do it because it was my birthday and therefore my party. Honestly I let them run around because they were having fun, and the desserts there were meh. Illuminations on my birthday was priceless however.

Overall, Beach Club is our favorite. Welcome home, every time we heard that we really felt like it was our home. Everyone was friendly and kind, and now it's time to plan the next trip! Thank you to all my kind DIS friends here for all your trip planning help!

I've posted pics before but why not post again :grouphug:

Thanks. I think because of the BOG 8am breakfast I have, I can't switch the day in particular I'm looking at. This balance is what will work best for our trip I just don't like ending up on red days! I think that because the Halloween party is going on some nights those end up as preferred days to visit the park--but we also want to see fireworks and full day. It's only a different in 2 vs 1 crowd levels so I think I need to relax lol. It may not be the best day of the week to go but it's the best day in OUR week to go! First day there, pre park opening BoG, fireworks to end the day :) if not for the BoG reservation though I'd be trying to move things around I think.

Hi, will you be at MK on the 13th? That's our MK day and I think it's expected to be busier than originally planned, but I'm with you, that's our one and only day at MK so just grateful to be there, lines and all!!! I wonder if Night of Joy has anything to do with higher crowd levels? We have a BOG reservation for 2:00 that Sunday  And Beaches and Cream on Saturday for lunch

First post on BC threads.....read pretty much every single one of them over the last week on my 'sick sofa' suffering a horrendous cold due to cat scratch fever after a scratch from a gorgeous over hungry (he was pawing for the food and caught my arm before I had a chance to put it down) ferral on a recent holiday to Rhodes.

Fantastic threads with some fabulous chuckle causing posts and you all seem so lovely and helpful. Teena if you fancy anything British next August just give me a shout I'd be happy to bring you over some tasters...I'll have a bag full of English chocolate for the cruise CM's so a few more bits can be managed!

We (me, DH, DS14, & DD6) will be at the Beach Club from 19th to 29th August 2016. GV room and we would like a full balcony as DH & I like to sit out with a drink after the parks whilst the kids nod off to sleep... We were at The poly for our first WDW visit in 2013 (& Siesta Key where we got married) and LOVED it and were upgraded from a standard to a beach room ... Was lovely watching the boats ferry people back whilst we supped our drinks (I used Tikiman for all my poly research..he's fab)

I'd really appreciate advice of room request....we don't want a tree hiding our view or alike and we don't want a non seated balcony and I'm not sure where we'd prefer to be but we will be at parks from rope drop til late (unless we split the day and do a bit of resort time then back to parks will decide when I do my touring plans :) ...can't wait for that but lol! Any suggestions for where I should request nearest to? We have one whole day reserved to be at the resort and will be having the kitchen sink (minus the coffee ice cream so probably the chocolate one) from beaches and cream for lunch

To the other smallies....I'm 4ft 10 and a half

We will be in Florida from around the 14th (awaiting to book flight at 11 months of return date for exact date) and are staying at Universal RPR until Disney as we did one night there in 2013 and need to do more! Then on the 29th (my birthday) we board the Disney Dream on a 4 night Bahamian cruise. When we come back we will have 1 or 2 nights (flight dependant again) in FL and will be visiting Kelly Park in Apopka and Weeki Wachee hopefully!

After next year we really have to save to do our house renovation so will be more than 3 years before we are back so we are really hoping to make the most of 2016...

Phew long thread...I am a chatterbox! Sorrry!

edit to add: my ticker is wrong...I've changed it in the place you change it but it's not changed?. Edit again - ticker now fixed

I think I saw your girls at the dessert party. My toddler was running up to them, I think. I agree, the walk to Epcot is pretty amazing. I would love to take advantage of the agency special next year, but the more I think about it, the more it probably won't work for us, because I don't know when school will start. We'll see - I can always book knowing I can cancel if we have to. My TA said she thought the dates would start August 14th.

My stay there had it's good points and some pretty low ones (that had nothing to do with Disney, the heat, crowds, or anything else). I love my family, but I don't know if I have it in me to travel with anyone who isn't in my immediate family. I'm glad we're returning in January so I can maybe scrub some of the bad stuff out of my head...

I couldn't travel with extended family, we've traveled with my MIL but that's about it. Yay for January! We have to go earlier in the summer next year as well, there are some other deals just not as magical but pretty good. I was trying to look out for you and your princess specifically based on DIS pics :) my girls are very friendly as well. I do remember a toddler there come to think of it

Hi all!
I wanted to relate my Beaches & Cream saga to people who would understand. I'd booked at 180 and the only availability was 4:20. It had to be today - our non-park day & perfect way to cap off our Blizzard Beach day. But I wasn't happy with 4:20... I wanted 5:00. I know ...

About 10:15 Sun night a 5:00 pops up!!! But it says I need to call to cancel my 4:20 :scared1:. Quickly cancel my 4:20 & go to reserve the 5:00 &. Not only that, but the 4:20 is gone too. My DH: oh well. Me: >:(.

So I decide to be Elsa & let it go... Fastforward to DHS yesterday... Pouring rain, sopping wet as we eat at MM. A 5:00 pops up again & it will be mine!!! Except... ERROR. ERROR. :furious:.

Fastforward 30 mins later & it pops up again. Disconnect from Disney's craptastic wifi & SUCCESS!!:worship:

End result - best meal & CM ever!!

Thank you so much for this!!! Feeling better about midnight!! :D

Don't be bashful about asking questions of any kind on this thread as we love to help people who stumble into our crazy house, I mean wander into our wanton wonderings, I mean read our gosh darned thread! Most of us here have been helped at some time by this thread and we love to "pay it forward"!

First of all :banana::banana: :welcome: :banana::banana:

Don't apologize for being a chatterbox as your wonderful introduction was fun to read. :thumbsup2

As far as Teena fancying something British I'll bet she'd like Pierce Brosnan so can you bring him over for her? We just won't tell her husband Bob. What goes on at the BC STAYS at the BC!

I think others can speak of the room request situation as far as area is concerned. I'm not the expert in that department. I'd definitely request full balcony however as my first request. Your trip is a ways off so sit back, relax and stayed tuned to this thread and enjoy the countdown to your trip. Speaking of those countdown tickers I can never get mine to work correctly either. I don't know what the deal is with that so I will just have to start counting on my fingers and toes if I want to be accurate. I better get busy because I'm leaving this Saturday!

Thanks for the kind welcome

Ha ha don't think I can pick him up in the local shops but if I manage it I can keep a secret

I'm an avid planner and like to get the things I can get done, done asap, especially when I have time like now!

I sussed the countdown ...it either just worked when I selected create ticker again or its cos I copied the text from the second field into my signature!

We are staying at the YC Sept 25-Oct 1...we will be arriving late (plane is supposed to land at 8:30pm at MCO) via the magical express. We usually have the magical express handle the luggage, but since it will be late...I was wondering if we should get our own luggage from baggage claim and bring to the ME? Any thoughts? Thanks! My first post...

Yes and yes!! Sounds awesome!! I think that really it will just be busier than the other days that week where it closes at 7 for the Halloween party- night of joy is only Friday and Saturday. We are doing 1900 park Saturday night after a day at SAB hopefully, 8 am BOG Sunday and crystal palace for dinner! My 3yo's first time at Disney! Do you arrive Saturday too?
