Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

Returned from The Lodge on Saturday after a six day visit. Our first time there after stays at CBR, Poly, Dixie Landings (Now Port Orleans Riverside) and I must say, Wilderness Lodge was the best! I loved the homey feeling we got there, and loved being able to relax away from the hubbub of the parks. We especially liked the quiet pool area. It truly felt as if we were coming home!

Some have asked about construction. It is there now (maybe not the refurb coming up, but construction, nonetheless) and it was an inconvenience to us our first two days there. We were in a woods view room on the on the south side. Scaffolding was being built and there was a lot of yelling and loud talking amongst the construction workers. Plus, even though they weren't right outside our room, we were in full view of them (and they of us) if we went outside on our deck, or even had the curtains open. It was impossible to rest or nap in the afternoons when they were working, due to the noise. That being said, we told the concierge at the front desk about it and he quickly and gladly suggested a move to a quieter spot. He facilitated the move for us and it was painless! Plus, we had a quiet room (north wing, woods view) and could even see the castle, monorail, and fireworks! We are so grateful that we mentioned the noise. We were just hoping to know when the noise would stop, and didn't even suggest the move! Disney does its best to please, and this was certainly our experience.

We will definitely stay at WL on our next visit to WDW. I didn't even mention the wonderful dinner we had at Artist's Point! But that's another thread for another time... :)

I just love when everything works out because of nice cast members. :)

Thank you for the email address so I could let WL and Disney know about the great service we had at WCC. I received a very nice email from someone yesterday thanking me and assuring me that our server would be notified and commended.

We took the Escape Walt's Wilderness Resort tour yesterday morning with CMs Mr Critter and Abbe and Cathy and JT the boat captains. Thoroughly immersed us in the history of Walt's dream for the place and some wildlife spotting too ,followed by a carriage ride with the beautiful air of Belgian horses Beau and Bob and a tour of the working barn and met the rest of the team who look after them and work along side these magnificent working horses and ponies. Even came out of it with a pony shoe each from a lovely little white pony named Benji one of a team of six who pull Cinderella's carriage. Even the breakfast was tasty. Highly recommended!:)

Quick question: I'm within the 60 days to do on line check in but I have two rooms I want to make sure are close to each other. Can I do that using on line check in or is it best to just wait until we get there? The rooms are in different names but supposedly linked as traveling together.

We did fine with both of us using online checkin in a situation just like yours. We had separate reservations with "traveling with" the other party noted on each, and on two separate trips we got connecting rooms. I'd just make sure you both do it and request the same things during it, if anything.

Here now!! We have 3 standard rooms book and one was ready.... Room 4112... My husband went up opened the sliders and saw scaffolding and heard drilling.. To be continued

We are traveling the same way and when I made both reservations (one in my name and one in my moms name-we have 4 kids two staying in our room and two staying in my parents room) I requested connecting rooms and both reservations are marked as traveling with the other reservation. I did online check in but I also called and double checked to make sure it still said traveling with and connecting rooms noted. It did. So I didn't put anything in the requests on the online check in. Just checked when we wi be arriving to the resort.
We check in in 25 days...hope they are connecting. Last time we stayed at WL they weren't even close to each other even though we requested it. But they were able to move us closer the next day. Whenever we stay at POFQ be rooms are always connecting, never had a problem there. I guess it just depends on all of the other people staying and where it works out best for everyone.

So my husband and I went down to the lobby and spoke to the desk and told them about the problem.. After a few minutes they offered us rooms on the first floor but down a bit further away from construction .. We still were not thrilled.. Front desk spent more time on the phone and finally got new rooms on upper floor overlooking otter pond... Only 1 room is ready so we are still waiting on the other 2

Oh No See this is not what I wanted to hear. I work in construction. I eat live and breath screws tools scaffolding and safety equipment.
If husband sees this and I see this, I am gonna flip. We booked bunk bed courtyard view

This is a concern for me as well. We have a standard room and am traveling with an infant so we definitely need to be away from construction so he can nap mid day.

Well magic bands didn't work at all. CM didn't believe me. Walked me down and they still didn't. Walked all the way back to the front to try to fix them again , walked back only one worked. CM who was the most rudest CM I have ever encountered told me to deal with it in the am. My response I should have stayed at port Orleans

So I just got the text we are in room 1021. I hope it is good. We requested a high floor

We got here on Thursday, we also requested a high floor and got a first floor bunk bed room. The place is booked solid, is what I was told. We were able to get a room change the next day to the 6th floor. Thank goodness. We hated the first floor and the bunk beds.

Arrived at 10 and our room was ready by 11:30 a.m. Standard view, Fifth Floor, main lodge on the WCC side. We can see a small section of scaffolding to the right of our balcony that appears to be on the 5th floor, but further down from our location, sort of around the corner from where we are. No noise at all so far.

CM who greeted us (Gloria) was lovely. CM at check in also nice. CM in Roaring Forks rushed to clear a table for us. Bartender at Trout Pass pool bar was sweet, friendly and made sure I had the right recipe to make Sunken Treasures at home.

We requested a bunk bed room and a higher floor. Both requests granted. The room seems to be in very good shape. Clean and not a lot of noticeable wear.

So far, we are extremely happy here. Our location is great to get to everything. WL is shaping up to turn into my new favorite resort. Hope it stays that way!
