You just graduated from college!! What's next? 5/13 - 5/21 THAT'S A WRAP!

Late to join, but happy to have found this report indeed. Great TH review and awesome character shots.

Argh, I literally just cancelled our TH lunch reservation because I was worried it wasn't worth the money for two adults. We want to do at least one or two special Food & Wine meals and I was having sticker shock. Your post is still giving me pause though.

Did they leave out the bobotie for lunch? I still remember liking that at Boma years ago.

A little late to the party, but I'm following along!

:welcome: to the party! Thanks for following!

I love these! I love to see what others have to say. Can't wait to see more. I am trying to convince my husband to let me book a trip for September 2016. He keeps saying 2017, but I don't think I can wait that long. I figure if I keep mentioning some of his favorite restaurants he might agree. :love1: I can't wait to hear your reviews for California Grill and for Le Cellier. I know my trip is still quite a ways away, but I love to start planning. That's part of the fun for me. I am torn between Le Cellier, Yachtsman, and California Grill for our signature meal. We only do one per trip. So far we have done Hollywood Brown Derby and Narcoossee's.

I'm partial to California Grill, as I love the atmosphere there and the beautiful view, especially the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. And good luck with your hubby...hopefully we will see a Haygar2 dining report here sometime around October 2016. :goodvibes

This made me so excited for our TH lunch! I'm not the biggest meat eater and all those rice and couscous dishes look SO good! I'm going to be stuffed! :scared:

There were so very many great looking dishes at Tusker House...I wasn't able to photograph them all! Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Tusker House looks really good! I scheduled brunch there for my next trip!

Yay! Hope you enjoy it! ::yes::

Tusker House looked so good! What a great idea to schedule brunch, then you get to check out both breakfast and lunch options :thumbsup2 I love all of the African inspired dishes and trying new things :cool1:

I was torn between returning for breakfast (which I loved last October) or trying something new, so this seemed like the perfect solution to my dilemma. If I hadn't eaten so much of the breakfast food, my plan would have worked perfectly.

For your TH Brunch, did you pay breakfast price or lunch?

Breakfast price! :thumbsup2

A little late, but just got caught up!! Congrats to your daughter!

Hello, thanks for joining in! :wave2:

All right, I'm going to see if we can put Tusker House on the to-do list for a future trip. Probably not January, since that's just a weekend, but hopefully we'll be going back next year sometime :)

Everything looked delicious, and I can't pass up sweet plantains at any time, so a Disney buffet with those sounds amazing!

I too love the sweet plantains, and I noticed that they were served both at breakfast and lunch. :thumbsup2

We have a 10:45 resi for Tusker House for exactly the same reason- getting to try both breakfast and lunch. We've never been there before, and I was a little nervous about the food. These photos are so helpful so now I now what to expect. It's nice to see the familiar options alongside the more adventurous dishes. Thanks!

Hope you enjoy your brunch! :goodvibes

Hi Barb! Emily is such a lovely graduate. It's wonderful you got to vacation with all 3 of your kids.

Glad you persistently solved your room/magic band problems at AKL. Not sure who would have thought to assign adults to a bunk bed room. Probably the same reservationist who thought Chase and I would sleep in a king bed room for 8 nights. :sad2:

AKL club level looks really good. I admire your discipline to resist trying everything! Also didn't know about the culinary tour either but would love to do that someday.

So sorry your meal at Saana was not so great. I stick with the slow cooked meats after I tried the tandoori shrimp once.

Glad Tusker House was a success again. Love those donuts.

Looking forward to hearing about Universal-

Hi Rachel! Thanks, it was wonderful being able to have one more trip with all three of them. :goodvibes Two more reviews from Animal Kingdom and then it's on to the Hard Rock Hotel and Universal. :thumbsup2

Thank you for the TH Brunch review! The only ADR I could get there was for 10:50 and wasn't sure what to expect, I have to say I think I'm going to eat light on the breakfast side and wait for lunch it all looks so good!

That was my plan, but I just couldn't resist the Mickey waffles, Krispy Kreme doughnut holes, ham, sweet potato casserole...

Your buffet pictures are all so great. I tried to channel my inner Barb on our last visit and between all the people and my crappy shots, did it no justice. I feel a hyperlink to your report in my near picture; )

Glad you all enjoyed tusker. Its the one and only character breakfast we truly enjoy. And love the late breakfast reservations so you can get lunch too. Though I agree, breakfast is where it is at!

Feel free to hyperlink!

Late to join, but happy to have found this report indeed. Great TH review and awesome character shots.

Thanks for joining in, glad to have you along! :wave2:

I'll be back this afternoon with Yak & Yeti, so please stay tuned!

I do remember seeing the bobotie still out after 11:00 but they moved it away from the main food stations, along with the rest of the scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, etc. I would bet that once these dishes were empty they were not refilled.

Following our brunch at Tusker House, we used our 2nd Fast Pass to ride Expedition Everest and 3rd for Kali River Rapids.

Correction: While I stayed dry on the bridge overlooking the ride, the kids used their 3rd Fast Pass to get drenched on Kali River Rapids.

Here's their Snapchat photo post-Kali...

I'd say Kali nailed them, rather than the other way around. ;)

Anyway, we were then able to get a 4th Fast Pass, followed by a 5th. We had about an hour to kill though before we could use our 5th Fast Pass and even though it was only 4:00 we declared it to be Happy Hour at...

Emily and I both chose a cocktail from their Specialty Drinks...

I went with my usual choice of the Big Bamboo and Emily chose the Yak Attack...

Yak Attack (left) - Mango Daiquiri with Bacardi light rum and wild berry flavors & the Big Bamboo (right) with Malibu coconut rum, Bacardi light rum, DeKuyper banana liqueur and tropical fruit juices.

I love this sweet, fruity cocktail and rated it a 5. Emily enjoyed the Yak Attack and gave it a 4.

My son, being only 19, went with a non-alcohol beverage located in this area of the menu...

He chose the Everest Refresher...

Sparkling Water with Desert Pear flavor

He was a little surprised by the color, as the drink's ingredients gave him no indication that his drink would be purplish-pink. We all got a pretty good chuckle from it though. As for the taste, he said it was in fact refreshing (as its name implied) and gave it a 4.

We were all just a little bit hungry and decided we needed a snack to hold us over until our dinner. After looking over the Appetizers listed on the menu...

...we couldn't agree on just one. My son really wanted the pot stickers and my daughter and I were craving egg rolls. Therefore, we ended up ordering both. ;)

At one time Yak & Yeti had Egg Rolls listed on their menu as both an appetizer (which included three rolls) and as a side (which was two). However, that is no longer the case now...

Since my son said he didn't want an egg roll, I asked our server if it was possible to still get a side of just two egg rolls. After confirming with someone in the kitchen, I was told that that was possible so I ordered this for Emily and me...

Pork Egg Rolls with Chili Plum Dipping Sauce

And then primarily for my son, we also ordered the...

Pan-seared Pork Pot Stickers with soy lime dipping sauce

So my son ate one pot sticker and said he didn't really like it. Being the nice mother that I am, I offered him half of my egg roll which he liked and quickly devoured. We all agreed that the egg rolls were good, so they received a rating of 4 from all us. As for the pot stickers, Emily and I split the remaining four and thought they were good. So although my son gave them only a 2, she and I gave them a 4.

We had a dinner reservation at Rainforest Cafe (the kids' pick), so no entrees or desserts for us...not even the much-loved fried cream cheese wontons. :sad2: But I did take photos of the rest of the menu, since I noticed several changes since I was last here in October 2014.

ETA: While Yak & Yeti does not give a 20% discount to Tables in Wonderland members, it does give a 10% discount to Annual Passholders but on their entrees only. Since we did not have any entrees, no discount for us this time.

Next up: Dinner at Rainforest Cafe

You went to Yak & Yeti and didn't get the wontons! :scared1: LOL! The main reason we are going is those wontons! Good to know we can ask for a side of eggrolls since DS and I are the only two that would want one. And the pics from Kali cemented for me why we I will not be doing that!

Good call skipping Kali, I was not as smart last trip ; )

Love the idea of Happy Hour at Yak and Yeti. Your drinks look great and you can't beat those egg rolls. I'm a fan of the potstickers too, but primarily for the sauce more than anything. Gonna have to explore the mixed drinks a little big more next trip.

Great reviews so far! I'm disappointed to see that Sanaa menu. We have a reservation there on Tuesday and I was expecting way more choices in the pick two section :-(

Yay! I just finished your "keep calm" report! Looking foward to the rest of this one too!

Love the adult drinks and apps at Yak & Yeti, you know I have been a fan of that place for years!!

I am with you on sitting out on Kali, I hate getting wet on rides. Great idea on the drinks and appetizers at Yak & Yeti. My kids love "Chinese wraps" as they call egg rolls and the drinks sound yummy! We talked about going to Rainforest Cafe, I am excited to see what you thought of it :goodvibes

Do you know if it's possible to just go in and order a drink (possibly even to go)? I really really really want to try the Pink Himalayan, and was planning on ordering one with my lunch when we are scheduled to eat there in December, but it's looking like we may need to cancel our ADR due to other scheduling conflicts/timing, but I still would really like to have that drink. Eventually I will actually get to eat a meal there too......

I know I am late to the party but better late than never I guess. That sucks that it took so long to get your room and bands working.

The Boma culinary tour looks fantastic I have only ever eaten breakfast there and it was great.

The concierge lounge looks like it has some great treats throughout the day.

I love Tusker House it was a fantastic Breakfast when we did it. The lunch offerings look very good as well.

Have never eaten at Yak & Yeti but it does look good.

Loving your reviews but even after multiple visits with (younger) children to USA it still makes me look twice when I read as my son is 'only' 19 he went for the soft drink option :)

Great review! I am even more excited to try Yak and Yeti on our upcoming trip now...those drinks look delish!

Thank you so much for the detailed AKL CL review! It's the best I've seen!

We plan on booking AKL CL for 2 nights after our cruise in April!

We did brunch at TH last trip and loved it! It is nice to be able to enjoy breakfast and lunch options with one reservation. Those appetizers at Yak and Yeti look amazing; I need to make it over there sometime.

Thanks for your comprehensive photo's of the buffet offerings! I've been trying to decide on whether to go there for breakfast or Boma before AK opens the day we are there so these helped a lot.
