BOG breakfast for Mine train warning! Early ride not guaranteed

we had an 8:05 BOG reservation this AM. We were done eating & out waiting near Mine Train at 8:30. They did not let us in early. They told us we had to wait until they saw the rope droppers come around the corner, near teacups/pooh. Once the masses showed up, they held us back & made us get at the END OF THE LINE. We jumped out & went to SM. We were at the very back of the RD pack . We ran into another family that was waiting with us, outside of BOG, THE DAD WAS LIVUD. They were in the exact opposite situation earlier in the week. They were at the fron of the RD pack & the BOG people were sent in first.

Wow. Not only did you get there earlier than most of those in the RD pack, but you paid huge $$$'s for the privilege of being closer to the ride at RD.

I'd be talking to Guest Services about the inconsistent application of arbitrary rules...

I'd be livid too! Disney can't be ignorant of the fact that people often do pre-park opening ADRs just to get an edge on the crowds.

Between this report and the ridiculous rope drop procedure happening at AK, I am just shaking my head.

We had a 8:05 BBB appointment last year. We were done with hair and pictures before rope drop. We were held back until rope drop, but were allowed to merge at the front of the masses and made it on the train for 7DMT. If Disney starts holding people back like that, a lot of people will cancel their BOG breakfast ADRs.

This event makes so little sense that I can't help but think it was some kind of CM prank, or the CM in charge was somehow angry at someone in the BOG crowd. From a customer relations perspective, operations perspective, crowd management perspective, it is stupid all the way around. Please complain to WDW about this.

We have 8AM ADR, but I have FP+ just in case it. Sorry OP that it happened that like that for you. Disney is consistently inconsistent!

By the way, if the park opens at 8 and you have an 8:00 ADR, do not think that you will get in early to have a leisurely stroll to BOG.

We got to the gate at 7:10, and at 7:17 all of us ADR-holders were let through the turnstiles. We were super-excited, thinking they would let us onto Main Street at 7:30. Nope. They had us line up in the LEFT tunnel and held us there until the regular crowd joined us at 7:45. Once both tunnels were packed, they walked us to the hub. We had to "salmon" our way through the crowd to make it over to the right-hand side so that we could go over the bridge in Fantasyland.

Start the countdown until someone posts that you paid only for the privilege of eating that meal at that restaurant. And paying for a pre-RD ADR shouldn't entitle you to any advantage over those people who waited patiently at the turnstiles for RD.

This happened to us several years ago. We had an 8 am breakfast at the castle and assumed we would get in early. They made us wait in line at the turnstiles behind huge tour groups to enter the park. We asked CMs at the gates how we could make our breakfast time but were told to just get in line. We were 10-15 min late for our ADR but still able to eat.

Having an early ADR for BOG does not entitle you to anything but an early meal. I see no problem with telling you get get to the end. I thinks it's funny. You got caught trying to cheat the system.
This is a ridiculous statement. The poster is not cheating anything. If Disney gives you an ADR at park opening or earlier they owe it to you to make it possible to make it to the restaurant on time. If you get there early you deserve to get to enter at least 10-15 min before the masses are let lose. If not the ADR holders have no way of making the ADR assigned to them.

This just happened a few days ago to a friend of mine with an 8:05 breakfast. She instagrammed the whole thing from where they made everyone enter en masse at once (and she's disabled and kept being pushed and shoved from behind. Several parents were putting kids on their shoulders and grabbing them in their arms so they weren't run over) to after breakfast where the CMs were saying to get in the back of the line after all the rope droppers were let through.

I'm really wondering if our early ADR is worth it. Part of the reason we make it early isn't to get a ride (we fastpass) but because I hate that early rush crush and have an excited kiddo who wakes very early all ready to go.

Read it again. They let them in for thier ADR at BOG. That was not what they were complaining about. They were complaining about not getting to the beginning of the line for a ride.

Yes, but had they arrived that early and NOT been eating breakfast, they would have been at the front of the RD pack. Since they were already closest to the ride entrance, why should they have to wait for the entire "herd" to enter? Regardless of the reason for their proximity, they DID arrive at the ride entrance first, but were made to wait for people who weren't even there yet.

Laugh all you want at people saying you only paid for breakfast, but I mean sorry, Disney doesn't advertise pre-park ADRs as a means to hit the rides before the crowds. Thus, they don't have to make sure that pre-park ADR people get to go first. You did pay for breakfast. You were allowed in BOG. You ate. That's all that was promised. Yes, a leg up on rides would have been nice, but that wasn't what you booked. You booked breakfast, which you got.

Breakfast should be expected, since that is what you paid for. A rides advantage is a common perk, but nowhere says it's guaranteed - because it isn't.

IMO there is nothing valid to complain about.
