Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

One of my favorite shows from the early Millenium due to its fun and original music! (Doug Live!)

I am so confused by this haha...I remember watching Doug on Nickelodeon!! How did Disney get the rights to it?

Doug wasn't picked up for its fifth season by Nickelodeon. I think they had up to two years to pick up the option. Nickelodeon said that the show was too expensive. I'm not sure how Doug would be any more expensive than any of their other cartoon shows. So ABC bought it (which was around the time Disney bought ABC, I'm not completely sure if Disney had a hand in getting Doug or not)

Anyways, a couple years later Disney's Doug came out. I remember watching it on abc Saturday mornings with Pepper Ann and Recess and The Weekenders and whatever else was on.

The Nickodeon version was better.

This bums me out so much :-/ If I could choose any character to have in the park, it would be Wall-E! It makes no sense that he isn't in Tomorrowland or Epcot!

It would definitely be cool if he was there. And if they would have kept Push. Whatever happened to the Wall-E little robot that was on those travel channel Disney World specials that said he was going to be in the parks, like that freestanding green dinosaur that walked through animal kingdom pulling that wooden box?

Okay, that makes sense. I never watched Saturday morning cartoons (because I had a bad habit of staying awake until like 3 AM on Fridays playing video games with my brother and then not waking up until like noon on Saturdays haha) so I didn't know it was there! Disney should have bought the rights to Salute Your Shorts if they were going to buy the rights to any of those Nickelodeon shows!

Yes, Push should have stayed as well. I think Disney should bring out all the older characters that are stuffed back in storage somewhere (like Wall-E, Robin Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, Genie, etc.) and then have characters that they never used before (like Oliver from Oliver and Company, Max from the Goofy Movie, etc.) just to shake things up and give people more options than mostly Princesses! I like the Princesses too, but I think with the crowds as big as they are, more characters could possibly break up the crazy lines for the existing characters.

Before Cat Cora's Kouzzina there was Spoodles. We enjoyed dinner at both restaurants. I'm sure someone would remember what was in this spot before Spoodles. Or was Spoodles original to BWI?
As I can't find any other responses - Yes, Spoodles was there at the beginning. I really enjoyed having lunch there, before it was eliminated. (I usually was one of the few in the place when I lunched, so I can't really fault them. They did much better business at dinner.)

It's a long story, let's just say fans of the Nickelodeon Doug weren't happy to say the least.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know Spoodles had lunch service at one time. In earlier days, DD was young and we mostly had CS meals in the parks.

No they don't. On a side note, I also love your pictures from your kids little until now. Awesome memories.

I have seen Alice ride the teacups with the first people in line and I have seen the Tremaine family on the carousel. But that's it!

Show at Mickey's Birthdayland in MK (1989)

Not only can you not see this show, but as Pluto has aged, his tongue has gotten shorter. ;) (Though I know that a lot of the characters have changed appearances over the years.)

I remember this show at Disney! I will have to dig up some of mine....whenever I get back home

I remember years before the main characters Marie and later Toulouse and Berlioz from The Aristocats did meet and greets at the Disney parks. The only characters that we're from the film back in the 70's and 80's we're The Scat Cats.

The Snow White Ride was well past its prime but I miss it. I dug out some more photos from the scrapbooks that never made it to digitization this afternoon.

Our first trip, despite having read the Unoficial Guide's hilarious take-down of the ride as too dark and terrifying for pre-schoolers (one write-in comment was grandpa asking "where in the h* l l was Snow White" comes to mind...)

I had zero thoughts that my fearless 5 year old would mind at all. WRONG. The minute that witch spun around, it all all over but the screaming. And from that point forward, she was very reluctant to try any dark rides the rest of the trip.

Good news: there appeared to be no lasting trauma as we rode it on every other trip until it was dismantled and she played along by screaming at the spinning witch on cue.

As I was scanning these today, I realized how many details I'd forgotten, especially all the owl motifs in the dwarves' house.
