Hello,

Thanks for all of your help on flights and FD in my previous post. My question is I am currently booked Aug 15-29th. I may add on a few days at the beginning or end of my trip or one on each end. Fllights are astronomical with West Jet and Jet Blue and Southwest. I have checked out of Buffalo mostly.

Will they go down at all over the next few weeks or continue to go up?

Are SouthWest Wanna Get away flights changeable?

Yes, you can change the wanna get away flights without a fee, you just have to pay the difference in cost (if there is one) or you will get a credit.

We booked last years August trip with SW out of Buffalo last June. I do find prices drop 2-3 months out and then they seem to steadily rise again. Good luck! You never know when prices might drop. Keep checking!

Thank you. I will keep checking flight. I saw a very cheap deal with Spirit but cant remember if it was Detroit or buff departure and would have to find a park sleep n fly as departure time was 230 am! Lol

And watch out for Spirit baggage fees, if you do book Spirit.

Hi Brighteyes…I'm presuming FD means Free-Dining? Am I right? If so, since free dining starts on Aug 15th then if you add days to the front end of your vacation you won't be able to get free dining for those days and you'll have to book those days as a separate reservation with Disney.

Yes I know...we want to have a full 14 day there not including travel days. So a day early separate or a day added onto the end at POP.o_O Or I am trying to price out a split stay. I really want to try a moderate for a week but my son really likes POP.....
Translation.....I don't know what I am doing yet!! LOL :confused3
But I AM GOING TO DISNEY FOR AT LEAST TWO WEEKS:banana::banana::banana::banana::dancer::dancer:

Sounds awesome. We booked free dining for August but for personal reasons just had to cancel. Have great time!!!

So if I book with Southwest or WestJet and prices go down, will I get a credit. If I get a credit if I don't use it for airfair will I get the money back or only an airfair credit?

Credit for SW. Credits expire a year from the original date you book, not from the date you fly.

Westjet is doing price drop protection now too, you would get the difference back in Westjet Dollars :)

Thank you. It just pains me that flights are so much. I remember when flights were 60. Each way pp out of buffalo. I don't even know what a good price is for flights in August.

Wow! I just checked your dates out of Buffalo & yes that is insane. We are closer to Detroit and get the best deal from there on Delta as it's a Delta hub. We got $260 pp Delta Detroit -MCO Aug 21-28. I just checked your dates & saw flights for $270 it's a 7:43pm departure & a 7am return though. For $308 you can get an afternoon departure but still stuck with the early return. We've always found Delta to be less expensive. Good luck!

ETA: if you switch your return flight to the 30th you can get a 8:20am or 6:20pm return for $295 rt if you take the 7:43pm departure on the 15th.

Have you looked at Pittsburgh? We booked late this year for march break and flew out of Pittsburgh - it was less than half of what we were looking at from Buffalo and Detroit. It was a very easy drive and I would consider it again.

I haven't checked Pittsburgh. I will see how far that is from Kitchener. My flights on Southwest for the flights we want are 240 pp depart and 270 pp return. The departure flight came down 20.00 from yesterday, so I am watching it.

I found delta to be expensive even out of Detroit. I didn't expect it to be so expensive. It is not really much more to fly out of Toronto.

I just priced out TO to MCO & a decent flight for your dates is right around $535 pp round trip. Even with a $1.22 exchange rate a flight out of Detroit is $205 Canadian cheaper per person - for a family of 5 like us that's $1000! :confused3 For the last two summers, in August anything right around $250 USD per person round trip is a good price.

That is what I am hoping and watching for....:worship:popcorn::

Would this 250 pp round trip be out of detroit? and with what airline?

I would really prefer buffalo. But if Detroit is cheaper??
