Burning the Candle at Both Ends - A Holiday Dining Report

This drove me crazy. I googled it and found the answer but don't want to post it here if anyone's trying to figure it out. I would never have gotten it without cheating. FWIW the "Z" = the.

Thanks! Hermione just figured it out! It had been driving me nuts and she got it in about 30 seconds, LOL.

I'm usually good at these but could have stared at it all night had a mental block. Tell Hermione, great job, I'm impressed!!!

I love the pic of Ron and Harry as littles! Hermione looks like she was feeling a but better this day! Those cupcakes are ADORABLE...but, I am always disappointed by the cupcakes that everyone raves about because they are too sweet for me too (and I like sweets!) I tried the Red Velvet at Starring Rolls and was so bummed because I couldn't have more than 2 bites. It hurt my teeth! I'm already sad for you leaving Disney :(

They were such cuties!
I guess we're just not cupcake people.
Leaving Disney is always sad!

So glad Hermoine was feeling better. I'd never thought about sharing magic bands for fast passes before, what a good idea.

It may not be the best, but to me there is something crave-ably bad about Disney pizza. I know its not very good and I don't really like, yet feel compelled to eat it. Maybe they are putting something in there?

The fireworks sound awesome.

Cant wait to hear all about that other world ; )

I think I got it, after realizing the lines connecting the boxes didn't indicate the order!

I've really enjoyed your reviews. I'd love to go at Christmas time some day!

Maybe they do put something in the pizza. I swear they do that in a lot of their foods!

Christmas is definitely a special, albeit mobbed, time of year!

So first, an apology for the delay in finishing. Real life keeps getting in the way; end of the year evaluations at work, Harry's baseball, Hermione's ballet rehearsals for Alice in Wonderland, yada, yada, yada.....
Anyway, there's not too many updates left, so lets get back to it. :thumbsup2

January 1st, 2015
Today was check-out day.
We still had one CS credit left each, as well as some snacks, so we headed down to Pepper Market for some breakfast before leaving. Arthur, Hermione and I all had omelets. (I had ham and cheese, Arthur had southwestern and Hermione had cheese.) They each came with home fries. These were fine, pretty basic but cooked to order.

Harry and Ron each had the Egg, Chorizo, and Cheese Sandwich which came with hash browns. They were happy with their choice!

Breakfast ratings:
Me - Food: 7/10, Atmosphere 8/10
Harry - Food 9/10, Atmosphere 8/10

After breakfast, we headed to the gift shop and used up our snack credits on packaged Goofy's Candy Co. items. We didn't like the 'Character Sweet and Sour Candy.' The others were OK; sadly the sour gummies were not available there. We would have been better off getting more goodies to go from Epcot!

After that, it was time to head out to Universal!
Good-bye, beautiful Coronado Springs!

Last days are always bittersweet. Though it looks like you went out on a relatively decent food note

We found the Pepper Market to be quite reliable. In general, I have had pretty good luck at the resort food courts.

I really enjoyed your report! Thanks for all of the great reviews and I'm glad we could relive your dining adventures with you.

Thanks! Writing the report is a great way to relive the memories. Though, it just makes us want to go back again.....

Harry and I have a few small updates left that we'd like to do to wrap up this report. :thumbsup2
After 9 days of free dining at WDW, we'd had our share of eating and ate shockingly little at Universal. We were really there to connect with our inner wizard :wizard: and our time was limited to just a day and a half. We were also starting to get tired and dare I say, on each other's nerves, so our food picture taking was almost non-existent. Still, there were a few highlights that we'd like to share in case any of our readers have plans to head to Universal in the future.

Portofino Bay

After leaving Coronado and WDW behind, we grabbed a cab and headed over to Universal Orlando's Portofino Bay Resort. I have to say, we all LOVED this resort. It was beautiful and tranquil and felt a million miles away from the chaos of the parks. I highly recommend Portofino Bay and we will definitely be back. A few pictures (sorry for the quality; some are pictures of pictures):

I am going out of order here, but at Portofino Bay, we discovered a great little gem of a place that we ate dinner ate: Sal's Deli. We ordered several pizzas to share and were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening with a beautiful view of the Bay. The pizza was delicious! TS taste at CS prices! They also had sandwiches, gelato, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and other things. These Sal's pictures are taken from the internet:

Our Sal's rating:
Me: food 9/10, atmosphere 9/10
Harry: food 9/10, atmosphere 9/10
Hermione: food 9/10, atmosphere 10/10

I don't know too much about Universal (my daughter isn't quite old enough to enjoy it yet) so looking forward to your insights. Your resort looks beautiful, as does that pizza ; )

Great report! Thank you! So sorry you missed out on most of the Storytellers. I, too, would have been greatly disappointed.
