Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

Can I earn SPG points at the Mandara Spa? I know I can for dining, but what about the spa?

I need to have some activity on my SPG points this year and figured this would give me a good excuse to go to their spa.

I believe if you charge it to the room, you will accrue points.

Long shot. But has anyone stayed in room 14064? Or where it's located? I got my room number but don't check in until Wednesday and am excited to see it!

I'm trying to figure out where you went to get the room number assignment. Is it in the SPG app? Is that the same app that's on the Swan-Dolphin web site? If so, where did you go, in the app, to find the room #?

Yes, people mentioned the SPG app for your assigned room number, but I don't know exactly where they found that info. The Swan and Dolphin app is really just pages of info about the restaurants and convention space, nothing about your specific stay.

Ok, this one's a first for me. I'm used to getting pre-arrival emails for upcoming Swan & Dolphin stays. I just received one from the Front Office Manager with instructions to use a particular code phrase at the front desk when I check in. Has anyone gotten one of those emails before? Perhaps it's because I'll be hitting my 250th lifetime Starwood night with that check-in?

New one on me too. Although I find the SD to be very good at recognising repeat customers.

Cheers,

That would make you Lifetime Gold. :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Well, true.... I'm currently Platinum, but I realize it's a notable milestone. I've found they've generally been amazing with recognizing SPG loyalty and repeat customers at these properties. I've raved about their service to friends & family on many occasions.

That they are!

I thought I recalled you were Platinum.

On your way to lifetime Platinum, 500 nights and 10 years Platinum.

And yes again, they do very well recognizing repeat and loyalty.

.... and the answer is: It's associated with having a Friday check-in. :)

Which means what? :)

Which means it's the first time in a while that I've checked in on a Friday. I usually work improv shows on Friday nights, so my usual weekend checkins are on Saturdays. There may be another level of qualification to this perk, but that's the explanation I was given when I asked why I'd never encountered it on prior stays (like the one I had last month).

Ahh, I see. Nice. Always good to get a perk of some sort. :thumbsup2

which do you all prefer- Swan or Dolphin...and why? I've only stayed Dolphin- but curious about the Swan..... are the rooms nicer/bigger/have better views? It seemed in past years the Swan was slightly more $ than Dolphin, now it seems to be the opposite.....any idea why? I would LOVE to hear opinions on both!

Biggest issue for most people is the Swan has Queen beds and the Dolphin has double beds. I prefer the Dolphin for access to Picabu.

Rooms are comparable. As said, beds are bigger and the Swan bathroom areas have double vanities. The higher prices may be due to the just recent Swan room renovations, not yet started at the Dolphin.

I prefer the Swan. Smaller, less busy, quieter.

hmmmm- seems odd that the Swan is now easier to book and cheaper than the Dolphin, I would assume it would be higher prices for the new renovation rooms....
