Great for you! But how do you know when the discounts are out? Do you get an email? a notice? Thanks. I HAVE NOT. :(

I actually check here on the DIS in the discount codes section. There are usually several posts and threads of people waiting for the promo codes to be released for certain time frames. As soon as the deals are released, it's hot topic here on the DIS.

please post any construction pics you have!
There was not much to take photos of but here are a few. I also jave a video I will try to add as well. I was in Moorea 3012 (garden view), so you can see into Tokelau. When I left on Tuesday, there was fencing up on the lake side of the quiet pool and the side by Tokelau.

Pjoto taken from Samoa outside stairwell closest to tje lake:

Some more information for those of you staying in any of the DVC buildings:

Both bathrooms have two drawers. The top one is the smaller of the two. I took photos so you could see the size.
DD9 and i will be using these for our June trip, there was enough room to store our unmentionables and some tops and bottoms. Other items went in the closet.

Kitchenette, not a lot of cupboard space:

So for those of you worried about construction noise, this only happened once during my 4 day stay. I could not hear anything while relaxing by the main pool. However, the quiet pool is not quiet. Click the photo below for the video.

Really?!! Yay! Please keep us updated on this as we have 2 kids slightly over that height but they are so sweet and young at heart and would love the new splash area and would have no problem obliging to the small slide rule.

Look forward to your pics too! Is your room on the garden side?

Also, lol sorry for all the questions, were you given a texting number at check-in (if you're staying CL)?

You will be fine. We relaxed at the pool daily and never had an issue with consistency amongs the lifeguards for allowing the kids. As for the room, we arrived by 8 a.m. and found out the entire system was down (room assignments and magicbands). They registered me manually and told me I would still get a text (DVC). Finally got my room assignment at about 12:30 p.m.. I was just about to go to the front desk to see what was happening. I was getting frustrated because I kept hearing others getting their text.

There are some not-so-good DVC studio reviews on Tikiman's FB page - sound like they're working the kinks out & that's to be expected - BUT - there are several reports that the rooms are too warm, and that the thermostat can not be set below 68, which isn't even cooling the room below 75 on warm days. Can anyone here that stayed in a studio comment on this? I have a studio booked for the 1st week of July & need it to be downright chilly in my room. It will be a deal breaker for me if the room won't cool below 75.

Just got back on Tuesday and stayed in Moorea 3012. I had no issues with the AC, in fact my husbands jaw would drop if he could hear me say I had to turn it up because I got to cold. I like the house at about 67 degrees. I had dust and shower flooding the floor issues. Nothing that could ruin or put a damper on my trip.

We are staying at the Polynesian Deluxe Studios in June. It will be our first time at the Polynesian. We are super excited! My question is about the coffee maker and coffee supplies. Is it a full size coffee pot? Should I bring filters and coffee? Or is it provided? It's our first time renting DVC points and I'm not sure what to expect. Thank you in advance!
I just put some pictures on an earlier post, but here they are again. Sorry its not a close up of the coffee maker and supplies, but here is the cabinet and the extra supplies you can get.

Never get that. I call up the WDW # - ask for the Poly - 4 to 6 weeks in advance - we stay 3 to 5 nights and it's NEVER a discount. ? Thanks in any case.
The first place I check is on the disney website under "Places to stay" and click "special offers;" they also showcase them on the disney homepage. Even booking last minute we always find discounts.

After seeing the GV CL rooms, does anyone know if people are staying in the first floor rooms with that outside their sliding doors? I can't imagine that they can take the entire GV inventory out of commission for the East pool construction but I'm wondering about the first floor. Thanks!

Going back to the pool restrooms - the East pool is closed while we're there in June, does anyone know if there are restrooms at the Lava Pool? If so are there showers? We always take the latest flight home on our last day & spend it at the pool, but if there's no restroom there to change in, I might have to re-think the last day. I know there's a restroom by Captain Cook's in the hallway, but I don't really want to be dragging my stuff in there from the pool.

We will be there in September and I keep hearing on the boards that the rooms facing the east pool construction will be closed during construction time. Is that at all possible? That just seems like an enormous amount of inventory to take out of the Poly.

I'm thinking just happy thoughts about our first trip to The Poly in June. Deep breath, HAPPY THOUGHTS, deep breath, HAPPY THOUGHTS! Repeat! It might just work, construction or not! :rolleyes1pixiedust::rolleyes1pixiedust::rolleyes1pixiedust:

That's what I'm thinking. It's an enormous amount of rooms to take out of inventory. I don't think they would close that many rooms.

Even my TA said she doesn't suspect they will close rooms this time.

You know that there will be people having to see East Pool construction out their windows and probably won't be very happy about it . I guess as long as they're not jack hammering at 7am or 11pm it won't be that bad, because it they do, people would (rightfully) lose their minds.

I plan to check in early in the morning on a Wednesday. I'm debating if I should do online check in or check in once I get there. I'm thinking checking in once I get there so I can tell them I don't want a room facing construction even though I requested Fiji.

OOOO the menehunie is back at the entrance!!!! Yay! We always took a picture with him, and he's been gone since the GCH construction began. He's on the opposite side though now!
