Just off the Magic...texting from the app works!

We are just off a fabulous week on the Magic! The texting (chatting) feature on the app works and is so convenient for finding friends on the ship!
They had someone from the company that launched the app on this ship this past week to work out any glitches.
Love the navigator app!!! It is so convenient!

I just had to reload the app on my phone because my count down stopped working. When I reloaded it said the texting feature was now working on all 4 ships

App to App only. Each person who has the app has a specific 7 digit code. You need to ask for your friends/family members code in order to start chatting with each other. Also, anyone who is a minor has to get a passcode in order to use their texting feature; then once that gets entered you can get their 7 digit code. The person who is the "head" of the reservation has the passcodes on their app for minors. Just click your child's name under the "chatting" section and the passcode appears.

The App is fantastic. Has everything in the Navigator on it plus dinner menus and deck plans! It's amazing. You can even make a favorites list of the items you want to do during the day and they will pop up when it's time for the event. Does not work on Castaway Cay but that was fine.

Definitely download the app before you get on the ship.

I think there's a cutoff age and vibe minors don't need to have the passcode approved. When we were on the dream a few weeks ago my dd15 was instantly hooked up with chatting, but my dd12 needed me to give her access. If parents want oversight over all ages they can probably talk to guest services at check in. We loved the messaging system, so much easier than the wave phones.

Nope.

But remember it doesn't have to be a phone. If someone has an ipod that can get wifi that can work. DS has a Samsung without a SIM that he uses to play games on, but it can get wifi, and he used that.

Yep.

And for me I generally had to turn on the phone and open the app and go into the texting feature. It wasn't great at sending the texts to my phone.

Looking forward to using this on the Wonder in June. We never had a problem using the Wave phones but it will be nice to just carry one device for pictures/texting.
