Thanks Sue! I think maybe marina! I love the GF no matter what room anyway!!!!
My friend had a room in Sago facing away from marina. It was handy to bus stop & Gaspys. We'd meet up in the mornings at Gaspys. She had a nice quiet room. Only thing I didn't like was it was a dormer. We linked our res together and they put us on opposite ends of resort  It's a small resort so really wasn't a big problem. We made it work!

Thanks! I'm really loving this thread! It's so helpful!

Hello,

I just booked a stay in the GF for Nov in a garden view deluxe room. Does anyone know what that is? Do these rooms have balconies and are they turret rooms (top floor)?

Thank you for any help. I am concerned that there might not be a balcony, which would be a deal breaker for us. I asked but she didn't sound confident when she said yes, she thought so.

I would like a higher floor, but not a turret room. Is that possible? Should I request a non turret balcony room? Or is that just confusing?

Help!

Confused and worried,
Babs

Blueskies, smiling at me, nothing but blueskies, from now on!

Hi Blue!

Tom

Hey Tom ! I am humming that tune :goodvibes...and sure hope that you are right! :sunny:... It was a looong winter!

You can't change the past, you can only learn from it and move forward. Funny you mentioned discouragement; I am a pastor and my sermon this morning was on the very topic of discouragement. It is the most used weapon against us in life to get us to quit and give up. Great job on staying the course.:thumbsup2

I've had a crummy, stressful day today, and reading this just kind of settled my mind down. Thank you.

Hope that today is a better one Teacher  ....

Hi! I have a trip booked for November for 3 adults in a king deluxe room. According to the website there are rooms with just king beds and rooms with king beds and day beds. As I understand it, the deluxe kings are either on the second floor or in the turrets. Can anyone tell me which set of rooms have the day beds? Thank you all in advance!!

I know that Trish has already answered...and provided links...having recently stayed in a deluxe king turret room.. I can say that there is definitely a pullout in the room now...

Thank you!! So all the rooms technically sleep 3 people then?

Yes...:thumbsup2....and this is even listed on the Diseny website.."sleeps up to 3 adults" ...

Hi Babsy ! GV deluxe rooms is a standard room that has the additional bump out..which is a very nice extra seating area..and extra tv ..and it is located in the turret space...I have only seen/ and stayed in the ones in SL..but I am thinking that it is pretty much the same in all of the outer buildings...the 2nd floor does have a balcony...a large one..as do all of the deluxe GV rooms....but it is along the portico roof line...so it is enclosed..the third floor has an open railing..and in SL the forth floor..which is its top floor ..the deluxe room has no balcony...as there is a suite next door..and it changes the configuration of the floor plan....Soooo..some deluxe rooms do have a balcony..and some do not..and since a balcony is important to you..I would definityly make that the first request on the reservation...and def not ask for a top floor...as I think that would give you a room without one...HTH..and that you enjoy these very lovely rooms! :goodvibes

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a terrific Thursday! :earsgirl: preppy GF gal who is thinking about a quick winter weekend to attend a MVCP :santa:....not sure yet..maybe..thinking about it..might have to book it...lol...:tilt:

I originally booked GF for my 50th birthday celebration this summer for 3 adults. When my niece decided to join us I moved us to a 2 bedroom at SSR. It's about the same cost for the 2 bed villa as a standard garden view room at GF. But.... I cant stop thinking about the Grand. I really want to stay there. What do the experts think? Will one room be crazy for 4 women? Or is it worth it to stay at such a great resort. We wont be in the room much but will use the pools daily. I guess I mostly concerned about showering and the bathroom situation. Have any of you stayed at GF with that many people in the room? How did it work out?
You could do two queens with the pull out sofa at GF. In regards to the bathroom situation, come up with a plan. Perhaps 2 of you could shower at night and the other two in the morning. The nice part to GF rooms is the toilet and shower are separated from the sinks and mirrors.

Can someone explain waking day 2 to snowflakes in upstate NY????

So, mvmcp sounds great now, Disney snow is fun snow!!! Go for it!!!

Just saw over on the restaurant board that BOG has opened breakfast reservations up to 7/18.

Just got 8:30 AM on 7/10.:yay:

Now I need to decide if I want to keep the breakfast and cancel the lunch.

Just came back from our trip. Stayed at the GF at the Sugar Loaf on the last night. It was a great stay. We had downgraded from the RPC before the trip and I honestly did not feel like we were missing out on anything since we could visit the lobby as much as we wanted.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Hi everyone! I'm a long time lurker on the GF resort threads and I am staying at GF for the first time ever this June for a convention. I'm so excited! The room I have booked with the convention rate is an Outer Bldg - Garden View and it will be myself, DD6, DD3, my mom and grandmother. Does anyone have a recommendation for a room request? I will be at the convention from 7:30-1:00 each day so mom and grandma would have my two girls during that time. Also, can anyone give me any tips or fun things to consider while we are staying at GF? Thanks!

Non-Dormer room. We were assigned a dormer room at first and they really feel smaller. The balcony is really small as well (it felt like 3-4 feet smaller to us). We switched room.

Congratulations on your first stay - it won't be your last. The problem with the GF, one stay and your addicted. I'd recommend Sago Cay as it is the closest building to both the convention center and the main building. It's easy to get to the monorail from there too. pluse outer building garden view there is usually of the Marina and Courtyard!

I'm so glad to hear this! We are staying SL for the first time(first GF stay) and we are so looking forward to it. We just could not justify the cost difference staying at RPC. Plus one of our kids are still really little so it's not like I will get that much relaxation time anyway! How was your room? What floor were you on? Was it loud? I know it can be loud near the lounge.
Glad you had a great time!

If my kids were still young, I probably couldn't justify the price of RPC either. We always stayed in SL when my girls were younger, and we loved it!

We had a room on the first floor (6107 I think), very close from the Club Lounge (i think there was only one room between us and the lounge) but it was still very quiet even in the morning when the lounge was busy! Nice view of the marina and the monorail. Once in a while, we had a little rabbit visiting us.

If I had one complaint: there was a 1 inch space between the bottom of the door and the floor, So I put a towel at the bottom of the door (for privacy purpose). I would have done the same anywhere else.

The staff at SL was so nice!!!
