13 Employee Secrets

I have heard of the character ones and those make a lot of sense if you think about it. Also I will say this needs a disclaimer because answer.com is not the most reputable site. #4 I don't really understand. I've also never heard have a Disney day and I've been around some mean guests.

#4 is likely not true. My FIL died on the old Living Seas ride (heart attack). My DH and a nurse who was also on the ride tried CPR. My MIL and DD (then age 3) witnessed the whole thing. I was stuck in NY working at the time. Disney was great getting the EMTs quickly but there was never an offer of lifetime free tickets.

Usually we would say "Have a Magical Day" with empathis on the magical if we wanted to tell a guest to F Themselves. I did know a couple of other drivers that did use Have a Disney Day but they were in the minority.

I have to make a few comments:

First...the characters don't "replace themselves"...they have devised a system with the handlers over the years to limit mistakes...

The free ticket thing is bogus. As previously commented.

You can get compensated if you raise enough of a stink...saw it many times...they are running a perception/PR operation and a stink equals loses

However...there at least was a guest recovery tracking database that management could access and use to identify repeat scammers...it was more common than you'd think.

They do take shoplifting very seriously - that's the profit - but again it depends on the PR situation...they typically just terminate stealing employees with informal restitution...prosecution in Orange County is bad for business.

I would love to read this, but I HATE Answer.com's list slideshow, it makes it so awkward to get through the list. It's usually two or three clicks per item and the paging is really un-responsive. Sorry for the rant, back to your regular programming..... :)

I used to avoid them too, but discovered there's a button you can press under the Twitter logo (upper lefthand side) that allows you to view everything on one page (instead of clicking through).

I can not find that button!

I just went in search of it myself and found it. It's not where the PP said. (At least not for me. I'm using Chrome if that matters.)

It is on the upper RIGHThand side. And not of the entire page. Of the box the article starts in. So really it is more like upper right middle. It is to the upper right of the title "
Employee Secrets Disney World Probably Doesn't Want You To Know"

And under 3 icons. Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. It's the one under the twitter logo. The one that isn't a video camera or a picture.

I'm so sorry to hear about this tragedy … let's all pray no one else ever has to experience this!

Yes, I got it to work! I have always hated Answers.com because it takes so long to read.

There's a lot of BS in that article. #4 as others have mentioned, but the thing about the crocs is also a load of BS and a few other points are misleading.

It never said "Disney always gives lifetime passes if there's a death." It mentioned one instance. It may be the only instance in history.

Also it wasn't an employee who stole, it was a visiting student. Unless you were just referencing.

Yep just referencing generalities.

Thank you for the this

I like these type of lists and wish they would come from credible sources all the time but enjoy them anyway hehe.

A good portion of this list is completely made up... I wonder where they get their "sources"

It's the beauty of the internet. In many cases there's no way to know who anyone is.
