We've got Deluxe APs but we're out of DVC points! A year of Disneyland trips- updated 6/27!

Great picture of Gaby! She looks so grown up....and a mini version of you!

Hotel looks nice. Shame about the room view.

Gabby looks gorgeous!!! I hope she had a fun time :)

I'm the only one who doesn't mind about a view... great that you didn't have to move rooms. What in in the world is a fake lion doing in the lobby???

Too cool about them comping the parking.

Gabby looks very beautiful.

Gotta love Embassy Suites and a well stocked fridge! It's too bad about the view, but really what view are you going to have in Anaheim anyways, unless you're staying at Disney?

Nice about the comped parking! Let the fun begin!

Hate the view but the room looks nice. Awesome on the parking being comped! The fridge looks nicely stocked. :)

Between the Dis and watching the new baby giraffe webcam, I'm totally not getting anything done today.

Those are the best days! :woohoo:

The room was nice but the view was horrendous.

Beautiful picture!

Ahhh - boy's soccer. I remember those tournaments well, but ours were always in close places like Gettysburg PA and Virginia Beach. My favorite was Nashville. The boys are great when they are that age. They don't have any distractions yet and can be so serious about the game.

You KNOW how jealous I was of that toe picture!

I know, I love toes in sand/water pics too. :cloud9:

We play close tournaments too and twice a year we do Vegas.

Hi neighbor, we're in Weber county.
Yay! You've made it to Anaheim!
G looked lovely for prom!

You're super close. We are in Clinton; about a mile and a half from parts of Weber County. :flower3:

Thank you. She had an amazing time. Her fella is so cute too. I need to post a few more pics.

Bummer about the view. I hear you about being a hotel snob. I seem to suffer from the same affliction. :faint:

You guys always seem to really enjoy your road trips! :goodvibes

We do love our road trips. Its such nice family time. They have always been great while we are on the road. :)

Being a hotel snob is a terrible fate. :lmao: I am planning another jaunt out to CA with Gabby and her friend and her friend's mother and we have been searching for hotels......Poor and hotel snob don't go together and sadly I am both right now. LOL!

I know what you mean by cheating teams. I deal with it a lot when I do basketball tournaments and have coaches and spectators cheat the system. There are always people that care about winning and will do whatever to win where these events should be all about fun and the kids and not about the parents.

It is bad for parents to do that and leave the kids without telling anyone if you can watch them or not.

I hate leaving Vegas to SoCal since most of the traffic is in that direction. Nice to see that you got to stay at ES Anaheim South and sorry about the view. I would not be happy as well as seeing outside.

Isn't it just sad when teams cheat? Do you ever catch them? What's the penalty?

The ES was nice. The breakfast was fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone who loves a BIG breakfast.

I'm still trying to figure out what the heck what was up with that area in your view. It doesn't look like it was under construction, but it was definitely not a nice view.

However, everything else looked pretty good. The hotel looks nice and glad that while you had to check in and out, you never had to vacate the room.

I think it was just a field with a school off to the left. :crazy2: It was truly awful. It was sort of dusty and looked like a scene from The Walking Dead.

Thank you friend. I can't believe she's 18 and getting ready to branch out on her own.....Bittersweet to say the least.

:thanks: She had a wonderful time. I put more pics on Instagram.

The lion was SO weird. :upsidedow It roared every once in a while. It was guarding some sort of treasure on the fake Pride Rock.

Thank you Alison, I agree, and she had a fabulous time. To be young and free again.

Good point on the view. But wow, ours was extra ugly. :lmao:

Love a well stocked fridge too! :lovestruc It just makes me happy.

Ahem, I wonder who recommended Grimaldi's? :rolleyes1 Ha...I miss that place!

You did!!!! :woohoo: Best recommendation ever! Thank you, thank you! I have been craving it ever since. Did you know if you sign up with them, they send you a free large pizza for your birthday?

It is. I do, too many when I am running a tournament or coaching games. The scorekeepers don't pay attention to the games correctly and add points to the other team, kids that are older and should not be playing in the younger division, etc. you know what I am saying. There are people who will play fair or would have to do the unthinkable.

ES are very nice places to stay. If the ES was close to the DLR with a walk able distance, I would stay there a lot.

Tragic. It's really tragic. And what message are these adults sending to the kids? :(

I agree, it was nice. Driving everyday wasn't optimum but it worked.

After we checked in to the ES and made it to our room, we unpacked completely and then headed to DTD. In all honesty, I knew it wouldn't be a late night. Joshua was feeling whooped from his multiple games in the 90* weather and the rest of us, well somehow the driving took it out of us.

We headed over to DTD with thoughts of Earl of Sandwich in our heads. But before that I had to get this pic; ya know the one that screams: we are at Disney!!!!!

I received a coupon for a free birthday sandwich and because we don't have EOS in Utah, it was use it now or let it expire. I had read they brought the Cannonball back (their meatball sub). We all love meatball subs so we ordered 3 of those and a greek salad. It totally hit the spot. Funny when we pulled up, there wasn't anyone manning the parking. Wonder if that's a typical Sunday thing?

DTD was crowded which was what I was expecting. There was a fun band playing and we stopped to watch for a few minutes. They must have had family in the audience because there were about 10 people all set up in front with camping chairs. They danced and sang; it was really cool.

First glimpse of the Monorail:

And another parked inside. Gosh how I wished we were boarding and heading into the parks.

Our plan wasn't to really buy anything the first night, just walk around, soak it in, and do some window shopping but when I saw the below, I couldn't resist....having a graduate and all. I wasn't sure she would wear it so I skipped having her name embroidered. In fact I ended up forgetting so I will get her name stitched in when I go back at the end of this month.

And if the hat fits.....:lmao:

We went into quite a few shops...

Lego:

D Street where I could spend both copious amounts of time and money in:

How cute is the Mickey STOP signal in red?

I saw this mug and how cute is it?!?! I wanted it but had my eye on another Disney mug. I like to buy a new one every trip and I am glad I waited though I may buy this one during Alison's BIG 50 trip in just over two weeks.

At this point, our exhaustion started to set in and it was only 7:00. We decided to head back to the ES and take a dip in the hot tub.

We arrived back about 7:25 and I realized that our Manager's Reception still had 5 minutes left. I know they close those rather promptly so Michael dropped me in the front while he parked the car. The manager was funny because as I was running in she said: you better grab two drinks each, we're closing up soon. LOL!

The offered Bud/Bud Light Beer, various house wines, and well liquors.

The kids made Shirley Temples, grabbed some goldfish, chips, salsa, and homemade potato chips and we headed upstairs to change. He was our gourmet bounty.

I tipped the bartender $5 and it was well worth it!

We changed, went in the hot tub, and met a family that lives about 10 minutes away from us. :faint: :lmao: Seriously. We have mutual friends in common too. They were there for a cheer competition. Can I say I wasn't heartbroken that that Sunday was the last day of the comp? ;)

After the hot tub we went upstairs, everyone showered, and it was lights out by 10.

To be continued......

Love Gabby's new ears.

You are darn right you better use that EOS coupon. I am so eating there in August. It's been far too long.

Yay for getting back to your hotel just in time for the free goodies. :drinking1

Looking forward to you hitting that parks!

Yay, you're at DL! I love that mug. It may have to come home with me too. Love the ears! I love that you took advantage of the last 5 minutes of the Manager's Reception!

2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sends a bad message to these kids that they think it is all about winning.

A nice start of the day at the DLR by visiting DTD.

Gabby looks adorable in you prom dress and PIO is right she looks like a mini you.

Nice start to the trip and I would have kept the curtains closed too.

Where did you get that mug? We were there the same time as you & I don't remember seeing one like that--or I'd have gotten it too :)

That's so awesome that you were able to catch the last part of the manager's reception and get some free drinks! And great that they let you get two of them! Free drinks =

I've never had the meatball sandwich at EOS, only the Roast Beef one. I can't wait until the 50th bash! I hope I get to relax some! I need to make my spa reservation, tomorrow.

I hope you get that mug then! I don't need any more mugs! I have so many and only use two of them as it is, I have a third as a back up, but that's it. The rest are basically decoration or for guests.

You're at DTD!!! :cool1:

Cute pic of you guys in front of the DL Hotel :)

Great picture of the family at the DL Hotel hat!

Michael just got an EoS coupon too so I am taking his to Disneyland with me. It's so yummy and so inexpensive too. :woohoo:

Oh - and I LOVE that mug! Super cute! ::yes::

I am getting it in two weeks. I hope it's still there. :hyper:

It finally feels real once we hot DTD.

Right?! Wasn't that the most horrific view? :scared:

I love the roast beef one too with the horseradish but the meatball is a close second. I like the holiday one but need to doctor it up a lot.

Did you make your spa reservation?

Aren't those Ears just the cutest? The CM at WoD told me that they'll have another kind too come late April. I am going to buy them too.

Great mug! hope you get it in 2 weeks time.

Thank you. I love that hat!

That's funny! Hopefully they won't find you once you're home.

Oh my I sounded terrible. :lmao: What I meant was I am glad the cheer comp was over due to the sheer amount of cheering going on at the hotel. The people we met we VERY nice. Too funny!

Um proof of my Grimaldi's Obsession:
1. I had a friend ask me recently if we would move back to Las Vegas and I said "If I won a year's supply of Grimaldi's I would" :worship:
2. I had my baby shower in Vegas and requested Grimaldi's pizza as the food (which my gorgeous friends accommodated) and when my DD was 8 days old I took her there because it was around the corner from my house and I was craving it. I have a pic where she looks like a doll in my arms and I'm shoving pizza in my mouth
3. I worked for the World Series of Poker and last year when I wasn't there had Grimaldi's send pizzas to the media room at The Rio Hotel to say "hi" to former coworkers and you would have thought I walked on water!!!

OMG I'm gonna buy that mug in July - gorg!
Looks like a fun trip and you're a fun Mommy :lovestruc
