Two Geeks and A 9/16 At-Home Disney-ish Wedding - We're married!

Look at your dress!! It's stunning! Glad you have it safely in your hands and one way or another it'll get down to Florida in one piece.

DF putting your suitcases away makes me have a sad face :( I totally understand where you're coming from; Kevin likes to bring up that in our first week of dating I apparently said "I'm moving to Disney and never coming back" and basically scarred him. Hang in there, you'll both make it through! It'll definitely pass sooner for you then for him (but you know that being a CP veteran) but before you know it he'll be on the road - and you'll be penciled in with Disney! <3

Your dress is beautiful! I'm glad you were finally able to go pick it up.

I know it will be hard being away from DF all those months, but hopefully Disney will keep you busy.

I arrive on the 13th. I'll start my PTR in the next couple weeks and it will have a rough idea of my schedule. Once you gets there and find out what you're doing maybe we can find a time to meet up with each other.

Oh, your dress is so beautiful! The detail on the bodice is stunning. You look fabulous in it! :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes I love the detail on the bodice. I never really thought I'd get a sparkly dress until I saw that one.

I see you worked out how to change the thread title. ;)
That dress is stunning on you!!!!! Love it
So glad you had both mom and dad go pick up the dress with you. And I love the bodice. That beading is so elegant and sparkly. Beautiful! Thanks for the picture.

I wish you smooth sailing with your sister. I hope she does remember that it's your wedding and your day. You are entitled to arrange it how you want.

55 days to achieving your dream of working for Disney. Just remember that in 55 days time and for the 4 months after that until DF moves down to be with you. I know it's awful to be apart for the 4 months....but just remember that you've wanted to be working back at Disney in forever!
YAY for getting a new video camera! Wotcha getting??? popcorn::

Yeah, it took me a few minutes to figure it out :lmao: But it's fixed now.

Thanks! :yay: I figured since you'd asked about it, I'd make sure to take a picture of the bodice :) Plus, it's one of my favorite parts of the dress.

I hope it works out with her. I'm sure we can find her something inexpensive, it's just that we're all pretty stubborn. I've got time, though. I just don't want to start problems.

I know. And four months is a drop in the bucket, considering that we're planning to spend the rest of our lives together. I just know I'm going to be a wreck at the airport. But yeah, I have wanted to be back there since the day I left. And he fully supports it. It's just going to suck sleeping alone.

It's actually a point and shoot, so it's not a huge fancy thing like your cameras ;) I ordered this one. It's got good reviews and seems like it'll be a good fit for what I want. The price wasn't too bad, either.

Thank you! :goodvibes It'll get there at some point, I'm just not sure when :lmao:

I actually read the second part of your post to him. I kind of did the same to him not long after we started dating, since I knew I wanted to get back into the program for my pastry externship. So he's known since almost the very beginning that this was a possibility. And like you said, it'll pass and we'll get through it. It's just going to be a little sucky.

Thank you! :teeth: Me, too. It was a very long day (four hours each way for a 30 minute appointment, blah).

I'm sure they will. I plan on trying to pick up as many hours as I can, both to keep busy and to try and save some money. I'm going to need to buy a car and I'd also like to save as much of it as I can for the wedding.

Awesome :) We'll definitely have to figure that out :teeth:

I know you don't know when in October the wedding will be, but I'm curious, I want to make sure we plan our trip when it will take place, do you have any idea if it will be early or late in October?

We're looking at the last week of October. Ideally, we want October 26, but it might be a day or two off depending on availability. It would still be early in the week, though, because we don't want a weekend wedding. They're more expensive.

Oh I love your dress, it's just sparkly enough without going overboard. It's OK to have mixed emotions over the 4 month separation, but when it's over you won't believe how fast the time flew. I'm so excited for you.

Your dress is simply beautiful!! When you cry, you know it's the one.
I agree on the Belle dress, too much poof. So happy for you!!

That camera looks perfect for you! :thumbsup2

It's a pretty neat little camera, it's just taking some getting used to :lmao:

That's one of the reasons I love it :rotfl: I'm not a very blingy person, so this one had just enough without making me feel like a disco ball. I'm hoping that the time will go by quickly once I get down there, it's just one of those "YAY I'M GOING BACK TO DISNEY wait, he's not coming with me yet" things.

Thank you! :goodvibes The Belle dress is very pretty and I'm sure it looks beautiful on other ladies, but it just wasn't right on me. It was just too much.

School's Out
So I'm officially done with my on-campus classes! I just have to complete my externship and then I'm considered a graduate. That'll be at the end of June, since my school only requires 12 weeks, whereas the Disney program is 16.

The downside, though, is that this means that my flight leaves in nine days and sixteen hours. Which means that the last time I'll see DF for four months is in about nine days and fourteen hours. We're hoping that he'll be able to come and visit while I'm down there, but we really don't know. One of my bridesmaids, Beth, is coming down with her boyfriend in May, so he might tag along with them if he can get the time off of work.

It just really sucks. He's working two jobs right now, so we only see each other a few times a week (Wednesdays, since that's his day off from both, and Saturday and Sunday evenings). And with me leaving, my emotions are on an absolute roller coaster. It's going from "OMG YAY DONE WITH SCHOOL I'M GOING TO DISNEY" to "*&#^$ I DON'T GET TO SEE DF FOR FOUR MONTHS" roughly every five minutes. I know some couples have it worse. It just sucks. But right now, we're basically taking every chance we have to spend time together. I'm going to be an absolute wreck at the airport on Easter, and I know it.

We're having a going away thing for me on Saturday night and are going to Dave and Busters with some friends, so that should be fun.

There hasn't been much movement on the wedding front, of course. Until we talk to Disney and know what we're looking at, we can't really make many decisions. We've been talking about little stuff, like favors and programs and invitations and things like that, but neither of us really want to have anything set in stone until we talk to Disney.

So there's that.

Congratulations on finishing the classroom portion. Look how far you've come, it wasn't that long ago you were trying to get enrolled in school.

Just keep focused on finishing the program and you'll be on your way to doing what you enjoy.

It's understandable your emotions are all over place right now.

Seems like only yesterday when we were talking about your plans! And now, you're finished. Congratulation on finishing school!

It'll totally suck for that 4 month duration; but if we think back to that 'yesterday, when we were talking about your plans' for school, the time will go by quick enough. You're so close to attaining that dream of working for Disney again. :thumbsup2

Hopefully you two can swing in a meet up in there at some point. But as both PIO and Angela said, just think about how far you have come and how really quickly it went by! Disney will keep you busy and that will make the time fly by!

I know... I'm very glad to be done with school and to be back here again. It's just one of those "OMG YAY wait a minute" things.

I know! I was telling someone at school that it doesn't feel like fourteen months already. That went by really fast. I'm hoping these next few months go by as quickly as the last fourteen did.

We're hoping that my parents will be able to come down like they're talking about, in which case he'd be able to tag along, since they'd be driving. He'd just have to chip in for gas (and deal with being in the car with my dad for two days each way).

Hello from Disney!

So I'm back at Disney. My roommate and I checked in yesterday and we're in an apartment at Patterson. We're all moved in, for the most part. She just has a few more things to unpack, since she drove down and has more stuff. We had casting as well yesterday, which was all the new hire paperwork, getting our first week's schedules, and background checks. Today there's a housing meeting in a couple of hours, so I need to wake her up and have some breakfast and a shower and all that. We don't have anything scheduled tomorrow, so I'm not sure what we're planning to do, and then Thursday is Traditions and my first paid day of work. It's also when I get my Cast ID, which means I can go to the parks whenever I want afterward! :yay:

I'm really honestly very happy to be here. And I'm hoping the next few months fly by as fast as the last few did. I just really wish DF was here with me. When we went to Casting yesterday, they took us the long way around so that we'd pass under the big sign and I got really choked up because I was missing him. When I made my bed last night, I kept thinking about how it was a twin bed and not the queen I share with him. There are so many things that I want to share with him this summer and I can't because he won't be here until mid-July at the earliest.

We'll get through these four months. We're too stubborn not to :lmao: It's just going to be hard.

Anyway. I'm planning at some point this week to run over by the Yacht Club so I can take some pictures of the gazebo to send to him, since that's our current preferred ceremony location. My roommate wants to watch Wishes tonight, so we'll probably go to one of the MK resort areas to grab a QS dinner tonight and watch it from the beach or something. I really want to check out the Easter egg cakes at the Grand before they disappear.

My parents said that they might come to visit sometime in the next couple of months, and that if they do, they'll be driving. So DF would be able to come with if they do, since chipping in for gas would be cheaper than flying down or taking the train. He'd just have to deal with being stuck in a car with my dad for two days each way.

So that's about it for right now. We can get penciled in in June, so there really isn't much to talk about until then.

Oh, light bulb moment. Maybe I can convince my parents to come down when we can get penciled in so he can be here with me for that :lmao:

I just woke up about 45 minutes ago, so I'm a bit "stream of consciousness" right now... Leaving it at that.

Great light bulb moment, that would be so nice if it would work out. Sounds like you're settling in quite nicely. Are you able to Skype with DF and your parents?

Yup. Fantastic light bulb moment.

I am totally envious about you being at the world. Enjoy!

Enjoy your new experiences. I hope they keep you busy enough that you don't have enough time to think about missing DF. Then he'll be there before you know it!

Yeah, we're doing okay so far. We just need to run to the grocery store today to do an actual grocery run. We literally just bought sandwich stuff and cereal and milk the other day :lmao:

DF and I skyped for a while yesterday. Before he went to his second job, we were on for about 45 minutes while Holly (my roommate) and I were at the Yacht Club wandering around. I showed him the gazebo and he liked it. He didn't like the pink flowers, but I don't think they'll replant them just for us  Then when he got off work, we skyped a little more before I went to bed. It was good being able to see his face. I haven't skyped with my parents yet, but I did talk to my mom for a bit this morning. I sent her a link to my vlogging channel (he'd asked me to start one).

Yup. Fantastic light bulb moment.

Yeah :) I know you are! Why do you think I keep posting pictures on Facebook? :teeth:

I'm trying to. It's just that there's so much here that I want to do with him, but I can't until he gets here. So there's that. Like last night, we were watching Wishes over at the GF, and I started crying because I wanted him there so badly. My parents are looking at coming down in June, so he'd be able to tag along then.
