Dee- I forgot to have you add me to the list when I booked this trip...
BC SV 4/1-4/5
I will be spending lots and lots of time soaking in the sunshine at SAB.
I woke up to the sound of a snowblower today. Grrrrr...

Have fun Teena. You have earned it! See you next Sunday!
Snowing here, too. We've not had anything close to what has fallen in New England, but I'm seriously tired of this winter, which was supposed to be over last week...

NM - Club Level...did you say club level? How's that BWI CL planning?

Shame that Magical booking in December doesn't include BC CL. Guess we will just need to settle for BWI.

Rebecca

Are you sure I can't tempt you and Mom to come over to the darkest side for a CHRISTMAS STAY??? Think of all the fun we'd have hanging out in the lounge sipping Nescafe machine concoctions as we come and go during the day. We could use the lounge as our meeting point and get together to hang out at all hours of the day. I'm thinking that a Beach Club get together at the Boardwalk is looking better and better. The Club Level there is said to be very good and the lounge looks like it has a lot of comfy seating. It will be hard to leave once we sit down on the sofas and start our "hen party" clucking!!

You should "ask your Mom" if you can come out to play. Tell her she can come too!!

~NM

PS. Janet Mom, please ask your husband if HE can come out and play at the BWI. You might have to tell him a little white lie and say you thought you saw pretzel rolls as Club level snacks, but my husband really needs his hang buddy to keep him company in the lounge.

We returned on the 15th from a great stay at BC CL.
Any questions, let me know.

Headed back 5/24-6/3 YC CL !

Deb

So glad to hear you had a great time! I've been reading some not-so-great things recently and was getting nervous. GF is our favorite, but BC makes it a whole different trip for us, which is fun!

Are you finding discounts for December? "magical booking"??? If there are discounts out there already, point me in that direction?

Can you bring Sunken Treasure drinks onto the beach to watch Illuminations?

Technically speaking Florida has a "No open container for Alcoholic beverages" law. That means that you can't leave the park with a cup of beer or a martini plastic glass. I know from personal experience that if you exit from the International Gate, even though you are still on Disney property you will have to "Chug the remainder or loose the container".

This being said if you were to TRANSFER the alcoholic beverage into a different container, say your refillable mug or an insulated cup that you brought from home NO ONE would know what was in your cup and you could go about your way, anywhere that you would like.

Ok, I was waiting to hear the answer about the "magical booking" discount too....but I think you might have answered the question in a pm?? We normally use the AP discount, but we booked our October trip months ago without a discount. If there are discounts already available, please share your info because we never know what the discounts will be this far out. We just book and hope there is a good discount to apply later. I would much rather have a discount on the reservation. If the AP discount is better, we can change it later.

Many a grey goose slushie have been smuggled through the International Gateway in this manner during my BC (and BWI and Swan) stays.

Hello,
VERY excited for my upcoming stay in WDW. (YC 8/22 - 8/27; Poly 8/27 - 09/01)
Can't believe the "magical" price we got, thanks to these boards! Really looking forward to being so close to Epcot, the Studios, and the Boardwalk. Also can't wait to try SAB!!!
So now on to my question. My plan was to order some stuff from Garden Grocer (fruit/bars for breakfast, snacks, soda, water, and wine/beer). However, I read something recently that said the little stores in the resorts sell all this stuff for not much more (or sometimes less) than GG. Is that true of The Yacht Club?
Thanks for any help.
Sandy

I am sad to announce I had to cancel my May weekend at YC :( But still enjoying the planning and anticipation of my August trip!!! A near change to GF, but the kids and DH really are dying to try out BC CL...and no summer or AP discount will beat our Magical deal! C'mon summer!!! Hurry, this resort changer needs to stay put at BC!!!! (I did change my Universal portion from HRH to PBH, amazing AP rate on a CL suite....couldn't resist). Teena, have a great cruise!!!

That one you can't blame on me!!! :lmao:

Just wanted to remind people that if you have your heart set on staying at the Yacht Club or Beach Club or Beach Club Villas: never make assumptions about availability. Here's my recent experience on booking a one-night stay:

1) I checked the DVC member website to see if I could book at BCV for the date I needed. No luck. Sold out. (Obviously I could do this because I am a DVC member; you can't check the website if you are not a DVC member).

2) I checked DisneyWorld.com to see if I could book at BCV for cash for the date I needed. Sold out.

3) The wonderful NateBenMa posted that people with Disney Visa Rewards credit cards could book with a 30% discount. I never got an email from Chase about this, but I called Disney's Central Reservations Office (CRO) (1-407-W-DISNEY). I was told:
BCV: sold out for the date I needed.
Beach Club: Club Level only.
Yacht Club: Garden/Woods View was available at 30% off, so I booked it.

4) A few days later, I was staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas (the trip was a thank you to my BFF so I let her pick the hotel). I found the info booklet on the table and it had the BounceBack info inside. I called the BounceBack number. My call was answered quickly; I was not stuck on hold for a long time. I was told:
Yacht Club: one bedroom suites only for the date I needed.
Beach Club: two bedroom suites only.
BCV: studio was available.

BUT the BounceBack can only be booked as a new resie. You can't apply the discount to an existing resie. If you have already booked for that date, you have to cancel your existing resie before you can book the Bounceback Offer -- and you can't do both transactions in one phone call. I was afraid that if I called the Central Reservations Office to cancel my Yacht Club resie, I would be on hold for so long that somebody else would snag the BCV studio and I would be left with nothing. I asked how many BCV studios were available. I was told that 7 were available. The Bounceback line lady also said that SHE could cancel my Yacht Club resie. Then I could hang up and call the BounceBack number again to book BCV at the 35% discount. So that's what I did. I avoided calling CRO and waiting on hold a long time, and I was able to book a room in my first choice hotel, at 35% off.

She told me that a certain number of rooms are allocated for each type of booking. That explains why BCV studio was available for the 35% BounceBack discount but not for the 30% Visa discount and not for full price.

(Also, DVC members know that DVC resorts like BCV always have one block of rooms for members to book on points and a different block of rooms for people to book through CRO.)

So the moral of the story is -- call to see if you can get what you want. Do not assume that it will not be available for one type of booking (or discount) merely because it was not available for another type of booking or discount.

And NateBenMa -- please switch me from Yacht Club to Beach Club Villas for July 27, 2015 on the Be Our Guest list.

Ninja mom will you PM me the info also please and thank you! We are going for 2 weeks in October and it is pricey, if we can get a good discount that would rock!! :smooth:

View attachment 84537 So, finally I get to upload the eclipse. Yay

Beautiful! :)

Delurking here too. Will be staying at BC Nov 7-14. So excited:yay:

:welcome: to this thread, and posting out in the open on the DIS.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:woohoo:

Natebenma...instead of changing me in the be our guest you can just delete me.

We needed to move our vacation up 2 weeks and that meant saying bye bye to our 35% off bounceback. Since BC is only giving 20% for the summer discount we have decided to move across the lake to BWI. We'll still be doing GF before BW so all was not lost at least.

Thanks:flower1:

Sorry to see you go, but it sounds like you found a better deal. Wishing you a great trip!.

If you get a chance, come on back after your stay and let us know how it was. I am tempted to cross over to the other side of the lake while Ninja Mom is over there in early December so I would love some feedback on the BWI.

:thumbsup2

Please add us to the list! We'll be at BC CL from July 31st - Aug 5th, then heading over to the Dark Side for two nights.

We stayed YC two years ago and loved it. Last year we stayed at AoA. We loved our suite and it was really nice having two bathrooms, but that's once was enough for us. Back to the Epcot area this year!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:cool1:

Hello all - I had to resign up under the Real Jimmy Galaxy as couldn't get my log in to work again?
Anyway I'm back and currently typing from the Hyatt Orlando Airport as my partner and I wait for my sister in law and 3 excited kids.
We check in tomorrow at BC CL Lagoon view for 14 nights - I have been in florida for a week and half already and this will be the perfect end to what has already been an amazing stay. I'll try to log on and let you know how we get on.
I have got a full itenery planned - if anyone needs a copy let me know - not sure if I can post it on here? (advice anyone)

Have a magic day all!

:welcome: back! Sorry you had to adjust your name slightly.

Have a fantastic trip!!!

:goodvibes

So I've been searching, but can't fine. I'm Trying to decide on online check in. We have a lagoon/pool view yc room upcoming. I want to request a lagoon view. Should I call the resort to request? When? Online check in? Thanks. This is our first YC stay.

You should call the central reservations office to add your request to the reservation. I have the telephone number listed on Page 1 (I think the Other Useful Info post). You can do that anytime after you book your trip. I like to follow-up about a week to 10 days before my trip to make sure they still have my request noted on my reservation.

With online checkin, the idea is to grab your key and go. If you wait until you arrive at the resort to check-in, you can discuss your room location to see what has been assigned to you and if it is not what you requested you can ask if there is anything available. As always, requests are just that and are not guaranteed.

:)

Thoughts on club level.......,

Thank you so much for this candid and detailed post. May I add a link to this to the front page discussion about "Is Club Level Worth It". I have a few opinions and links to blog posts by previous guests.

Thanks again!!!

Hi! So we are going to be at the yacht club april 20-26. Initially the plan was just 3 of us, but now, relatively last minute, my stepdaughter (18) has expressed interest in joining us and we would LOVE to have her come.

So my question is this: how likely am I to have a request for a room with a daybed honored? We could make it work with just two queens, but I think stepdaughter would be much more comfortable in her own sleeping space. I know they are prioritized for families of 5, but wondering if others in the 4 or less number range have had success getting these rooms?

The likelihood of getting a room with a daybed will depend on how many families of 5 are staying at the same time as you. I do not know what percentage of rooms at either the BC or YC have daybeds. Add to your room request "Adult daughter, daybed would be appreciated". If there are no rooms available with a daybed for you when you arrive, you can either request a rollaway cot (provided free of charge) or if you are willing to change rooms during your stay you can ask for them to let you know if a room will become available later in the week.

::yes::

Leaving The Beach Club tomorrow after a great 8 night trip. Resort A+. Parks A+. Table service meals A++. Counter service B+. Some certainly better than others. Has Disney lost some magic? No. Cast Members have been nothing short of superb. I have nothing but to say to Mickey.....a job well done! Until next time

Thank you so much for the review!!! So glad you had a super trip.

:cheer2:

Yep. Time to get my name on the list please 'Mam.

MikeyT and Family BCV's January 6th - 11th **7th annual Marathon Weekend**

My pleasure!!!

View attachment 84704 This machine...somebody asked about coffee. I am looking forward to this machine in a little over 6 weeks!

That's it!!! That's the new coffee machine in the high-tech kitchen I won. How do you operate this thing? I'll have to give you a call.

Seriously undercaffeinated here!

:coffee:

Question for those that post pictures. I've always used photobucket, but it's just ridiculously slow. I started a PTR for our August trip (shameless plug - it's the second link in my signature). I'm giving Flickr a whirl, but does anyone have a different photo sharing site they particularly like?

Thanks for starting your PTR.

I generally use Photobucket, but between this thread and my trip reports (and Teena's pictures :lmao:), I have maxed out a paid premium account and I'm close to maxing out a regular one.

I have been using the direct link picture feature here with moderate success. It was super-glitch and inoperable last week.

:badpc:

With all the "decloaking" I just noticed I had forgotten to post my confirmed dates for my visit to YC.

My wife and 7 year old son will be checking in to YC Garden View from June 24th through July 9th.

Double digits now folks !

J

Thanks for the clarification!

:cool1:

I'll update the list.

Heading to BC Villas last week of April for first time since 2009! We can't wait. Trying to remember the room/floor we stayed in last time so I can request a similar location. We had a little help from a special friend on this board getting that room location in 2009 and it was perfect. Top floor view of EPCOT and we could see MK & EPCOT fireworks. It was a studio, I think it was 555,561, or 559... but not sure. Anyone have photos of the view from odd number upper floor studio rooms at the Villas?

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the list.

I do have a thread, in the Resort photo subforum, with room views, but unfortunately, I only have a few guests who have added pictures here.

:thumbsup2

Hello. Just extended our trip by three nights and decided to try something out of our comfort zone so we booked YC for the first time ever! August 10-13.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

The Beach Club Marketplace has a lot of items for sale- If you look on Page 1 of this thread, there is a section about Gift Shops which include the pictures and info about the BC Marketplace and to a lesser extent Fittings & Fairings at the Yacht Club. I have a friend going in April and if she has time she will take some pictures there to be added to the section.

:)
